Moving to Freemius was one of the best business decisions I have made in the almost six years of selling plugins. I moved over to Freemius back in 2018 and since then I have grown from a single person to a small team, my plugin catalogue has grown and I have became partners with some payment providers.

Using Freemius has enabled me to get on with what is important, our customers, my team and building relationships with some of the biggest payment providers.

The Freemius architecture is invaluable and I would highly recommend to any plugins/theme developers unsure about making the jump to do so!

The system login is very buggy.. sometimes I have to re-login time and time again to see my downloads and license keys.

So I changed an account username and password so that one of our agency team members can have direct access.

I just now tried to login to a product vendor account that uses this same system but I can't sign in! It seems this freemi thingy make unified account changes for vendor accounts (that sells products that has nothing to do with each other). This is ridiculous. Why can't I make changes to one account without affecting to another?

and by the way none of the "Forgot your password? Never received your password?" account recovery options work! Once submitted its just say "We sent a recovery link to your email address" but the email never arrives!

I now have to verify my purchases with the vendor and try to get my accounts back.

As principal I have now stopped buying products form vendors that uses this system. I prefer to deal directly with the vendor for account related matters, not some third party commission grabber. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Freemius was very easy to integrate into our own software and offers everything we need out of the box. Many features are simply not available from other providers, and the share of the earnings for the author is excellent compared to competitors. Not much to dislike. It would be great to have an easy option (maybe where you call the SDK) to turn off advertising for the premium/trial appearing on parts of the admin back end that are not related to our software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Freemius operates on a percentage model, so you don't pay them until you have revenue. The integration process is very straightforward, and can be integrated easily into any plugin's codebase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There were a few corner-cases I ran into while using the product - a customer was sent an erroneous email, a version number breaking a feature. To their credit, I contacted support and they were on it. Each issue was fixed quickly! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm brand new to the premium WordPress plugin game, and Freemius has been great and providing advice on pricing strategies, etc. Also, one thing I wasn't looking forward to was managing a plugin store and dealing with payments and refunds and auto upgrades, etc, and Freemius has taken the headache out of all that, which allows me to focus on building my plugins. Only have to code 1 version of my plugin, freemius takes care of generating a free and premium version based on licensing logic.
