My experience with Frase over several years has been one of stagnation, additional charges, and ultimately having to watch the product I paid for become the legacy version while development moved elsewhere. I bought Frase as a lifetime deal. Later, lifetime customers were offered an additional paid SEO/AI add-on, which I subscribed to for roughly 1.5 years because I still believed in the product and wanted to support its development. Despite that, I never saw the kind of meaningful product evolution that justified the time or money I had invested. Then Frase rebuilt the product and put the new version behind another subscription. Lifetime customers were effectively left with the old version and told that it would continue to work. That may technically preserve access to something, but from a customer's perspective it completely misses the point of why I backed a SaaS product early with a lifetime purchase. I expected the product I bought into to evolve. I did not expect development to move to a replacement product while my lifetime license remained attached to a legacy version. Now, considerably later, my opinion is even worse than when I first updated this review. Frase never became genuinely useful enough to justify integrating deeply into my workflow, and the newer product does not change the underlying problem for me because access to the meaningful continuation of the product requires paying again. The purchase price itself is not even what bothers me most anymore. The larger cost was the time spent evaluating Frase, learning it, revisiting it when new features or add-ons appeared, and repeatedly giving the product another chance because I had already invested in it. In retrospect, both the money and that time were wasted. I would not build an important workflow around Frase, and I would be particularly cautious about treating any long-term offer from the company as assurance that you will participate in the future development of the product. A bit clunky in the sidebar and the content's editing options are hard to navigate. I don't enjoy the export function of my content either, as I have to manually change the file type outside of the platform. I purchased multiple Frase codes through AppSumo, and I also purchased a Copysmith lifetime deal. I supported both products early because I believed in what they were building.

The original founder of Frase seemed like a good guy who genuinely valued and supported early customers. For me, the problems began after Frase was acquired by Copysmith.

Frase stopped providing meaningful updates to the lifetime deal version and developed a separate new version. The AppSumo customers who helped support and grow the original product were left behind unless they were prepared to start paying again.

I had a similar experience with my Copysmith lifetime deal. After purchasing lifetime access to two products connected to the same company and feeling let down by both, I no longer trust its lifetime deal promises.

The Blog creation feature is incredible. I also enjoy the Audit and "Fix Pack" it creates so that I can send it to my website creator for improvements and improved SEO. I use Frase.io to scale iGaming content efficiently, transforming hours of research into minutes. I love the SERP analyzer and Outline Builder, which are real game-changers for iGaming. The Custom AI templates and People Also Ask integration are exceptionally well-suited for high-volume niche content. Custom AI templates allow me to create blueprints for repetitive tasks, and the People Also Ask feature pulls real-time questions from Google and Quora directly into the editor. I use Frase.io's MCP in Claude to audit AI visibility, spot content opportunities, and ensure my site's health is good. The MCP is so easy to use and is a game changer because it brings insights directly into my workflow without needing to toggle between tabs. The team is responsive, and I love the emails about AI visibility as they help me understand how I'm trending on different LLMs. These emails serve as an early warning system, allowing me to adjust my content strategy in real-time. I'd love to pivot my dashboard to prioritize AI visibility and site health as the primary focus, rather than the content brief tools. Claude takes care of that for me so the UI would be more helpful as a high-level actionable board as opposed to the content creation tools. I want Frase to act as my command center with a high-level executive summary view of AI visibility across all tracked keywords and actionable alerts.
