What do you like best?

This powerful Chrome extension allows to navigate on SharePoint sites and site collections, and it does not require additional page refreshes. With this extension users can simply jump to any library or subfolder, or open file directly from the FlyView menu. And what I like most in FlyView is “Instant Search”. This feature at the top of the menu allows to quickly get the file, without having to open library itself. It works even if SharePoint Search Service Application is not configured, a user just need to start typing part of filename. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

When I first time added this feature I didn’t understand where it is and what it does. We need to refresh the page to apply it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Fly-View feature is very easy to adopt, no matter if it is small organization or enterprise. It makes navigation between SharePoint pages faster and more effectively. I think this tool could be very useful, because it helps in accessing hidden sublevel content, and makes users much more productive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It allows finding data more comfortable and faster, and also provides quick preview for documents and pictures, that could be very useful. FlyView “Advanced mode” enables you to navigate to “Site Settings”, “Workflow Settings”, and all other SharePoint Application Pages too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The solution creates Breadcrumb and Navigation in the Chrome. As you know Breadcrumb is deactivated by default in SharePoint 2013. It might not be very easy for users who are not familiar with SharePoint Designer to activate the Breadcrumb. For Advanced users, it’s not difficult, but it takes less time to install Flyview than activating the Breadcrumb. If we have an existing environment and we need to activate Breadcrumb on multiple site collections, it will take some time. On the other hand if we use FlyView – we have to install it only once in the browser. This add-on automatically detects SPS site and creates JavaScript based navigation.

The navigation is quite fast, compared to standard SharePoint navigation. JavaScript rendering is faster than standard navigation, when we have to click through a document library to get to a specific document.

This add-on can be useful for small and large businesses and it will save time for SharePoint users.

Flyview History is another feature which is worth mentioning. If you navigate to a SharePoint site, the site address is stored in the history and can be accessed easily. Technically, if we need to access already visited sites, we can use the browser history, but the good thing about Flyview, is that it focuses solemnly on SharePoint, but not any other site types.

Instant search is a great feature too. It is faster than regular search and a user can search any library instantly.

Document pinning can be quite useful feature too. It allows users to pin multiple documents in preview mode on the screen and to compare those if necessary.

I can give one specific example. Not long ago, I have completed a migration from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013 and the main question most users had – where is the breadcrumb? In many enterprises, when SharePoint 2013 version is used, Flyview is a very useful add-on.

In general, I would like to give some positive and a little neutral feedback.

Neutral: The plugin is quite new, from what I understood it was developed about a year ago, extensive knowledge base is not available, the price for the server version is not known.

Positive: Client version is available, it quite useful and works fast, very easy to install, Chrome browser is supported, document previews are available, SharePoint site history is available, no known compatibility issues, instant search and document pinning. Server version is quite easy to install also, it’s only a matter of uploading and activating the solution at the site collection level.

In conclusion, I would like to state and I will be using this add-on for business projects in SharePoint 2013. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Through FlyView, one can directly navigate to desired page or media without browsing through several pages. It also creates an easy to navigate structure on the fly for whole portal including subsites which is amazing. Awesome thing, which I like most is that, page or any other media can be viewed, download or print on the fly. Searching is also available to make navigation faster. Searching is available separately at each level to seamlessly and quickly filter results. It also has an option to switch to advanced mode to see hidden locations or site settings. While navigating I can also bookmark a page or media for later retrieval. It also maintains date wise history, if I wants to take a look at what all I have navigated earlier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It's easy to setup on Google chrome. However for other browsers, not yet launched. However company seems promising to launch it soon on other browsers. Till then, we just need to wait. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I will strongly recommend it to all organizations and individual developers who are developing on Sharepoint or thinking to adapt Sharepoint. I am sure it will increase productivity and make sharepoint navigation more of a fun rather than a headache. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I always found navigating through Sharepoint portal a tedious job but recently I come across FlyView, which is a SharePoint Navigation Tool. Since that day navigating a Sharepoint portal is more of a fun for me. It has made life easy by providing a custom navigation way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
