Not only can we build out their cash-burn budget, but we can also build out their modeling for fundraising, their KPI Metrics dashboard for the management team, and pull in their actuals from their accounting systems. Our clients love the Finmark service and are always in awe once it is implemented. For the cost, it is a lot of bang for the buck. And you can use Finmark as your daily management tool and not have to go into the accounting system. All the financial data is at the tips of your fingers. **What do you dislike about Finmark?** As a startup itself, the product continues to evolve and iterate. Like most startups we love, we wish they could iterate faster and faster. We love having input into the product roadmap and also being able to implement the new features for our clients. **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are solving for the budgeting, modeling, and KPI metrics dashboard for startups. ### 2. Once your numbers are in, you can literally visualise each department and plan accordingly. The level of control of being able to scale automatically once specific milestones have been reached is time-saving. **What do you dislike about Finmark?** It's complicated at first - you have to understand how to use formulas in order to scale projections for example. There are clear instructions available and the team is extremely helpful in getting you trained up. Nothing was ever too much trouble in guiding us through those initial steps. **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** Finmark gives you the ability to visualise projections, no matter how simple or complex. You type in the numbers, Finmark lets you see what's possible or not, enabling you to see shortfalls and gains in a clear format. It also allows you to compare different models/scenarios. ### 3. Customizable dashboards are super useful when displaying KPI's to stakeholders. **What do you dislike about Finmark?** Nothing to complain about at this time - the software is constantly improving. The balance sheet is a little light but improving. We've provided feedback to product dev, and they're on it! **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** Finmark is building FP&A software that is easy to use, while still maintaining the ability to create complex models. The software ties actuals to forecast (ie: direct integrations to GLs such as Xero and HRIS such as Gusto), providing a meaningful analysis of how companies perform compared to budget/forecast. The team is also responsive to accounting and finance feedback and needs and is constantly working hard to develop a leading product in the FP&A space. This partnership is assisting us in fulfilling our company mission and solving many of our clients' challenges. ### 4. But it's also simple and intuitive enough that I was able to offload a lot of the setup and maintenance to other team members after previously being the only one managing a very confusing excel model. And I can't leave a review without mentioning their amazing customer support team! They were always available for last minute calls, took our questions seriously and followed up with solutions, and were all around pleasant to work with :) **What do you dislike about Finmark?** Deeper integrations with some of the other tools we work with would be helpful, but I know those take time. It was great being able to pull quickbooks data, but more robust syncing back from Finmark to quickbooks would've avoided the need to login to quickbooks directly. Not a big deal once we got everything set up and pulling from quickbooks correctly though . **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** Helping us save time that we would've spent managing internal financial projections, cash flow, and burn while making spending and hiring decisions- it's time we can instead dedicate to building our product and engaging our users. ### 5. Once you know how it works it becomes so easy and great to play around with other possible financial models. **What do you dislike about Finmark?** Can be quite confusing to start with but the Annika was incredibly helpful and always on hand to walk me through. The team were fast to reply and made everything easy to digest and learn. **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to explore potential product/service offerings and see the financial impact it would have on our existing business. Even something as simple as being able to forecast the impact on supplier cost increases and the affect it has long-term. ### 6. The integration with Xero works well and allows us to compare forecaster with actuals. **What do you dislike about Finmark?** The ability to input debt injections for a single month doesn't seem to exist at the moment. The initial setup can be a long process but I don't see how it can be made more efficient. **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is allowing me to ditch Excel and perform complex modelling for my business. It has allowed me to share budgeting and forecasting with my colleagues easily and with real time updates. ### 7. I've never run into an issue that I couldn't resolve as a result of the awesome support team. They're also super down to hop on a call to collaboratively troubleshoot. All in all, an exemplary support team. **What do you dislike about Finmark?** I consider myself to be a quick learner, but some things weren't super intuitive at first. I think a more extensive help center, with more examples, could have made my experience slightly better **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** Finmark helped me create a financial model for our latest round of funding. I benefited by learned a lot about how to make an effective model. ### 8. This makes it so much easier than setting up a complex spreadsheet. The support from Finmark is just incredible. **What do you dislike about Finmark?** Nothing - everything is awesome. It does take a bit to understand how to use the variables but it is not something that is negative. In fact, it makes it easier to model complex planning. **Recommendations to others considering Finmark:** Get a trial and try it out. You will be amazed. **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** Setting up a business plan for a startup and presenting the numbers to investors. The benefits are multiple. Easy modeling, great dashboard, and easy to share with investors. Modeling scenarios is a dream. ### 11. As a founder/entrepreneur, it is much easier to navigate Finmark than a robust excel spreadsheet and Finmark automatically runs reports that you need for your business like churn, acquisition cost, retention, etc. **What do you dislike about Finmark?** they are only built for SAAS revenue models and they do not (currently) have a way of using formulas and variables to run different revenue streams and projections, but this is on their product roadmap for the near future. **Recommendations to others considering Finmark:** Continue having great customer support and listening to your users. Very impressed with the product and team so far. Even features that are missing are on their product roadmap, and they seem to really care about the experience their users are having. **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** The best problem its solving is making financial modeling significantly easier, especially for founders of small startups who may not have a full-time CFO on their team. This also makes it easy to run different scenarios to allow us to see what type of fundraising we should take on and why. ### 13. It's powerful for burn rates, scenarios and understanding your actuals versus goals. They also allow us to share views with external parties. **What do you dislike about Finmark?** Right now there are still some features that we are missing that are specific to our use cases. They are usually good about releasing features rapidly, but it is still earlier days for finmark. **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** Understanding the financials of our business in a quick snapshot, and without spending too much time on the details. We were previously using excel, and it simply didnt work for us and it also took up to 5 hours per week to maintan, and there was no easy way to share it with external parties . ### 14. There are a few features I'd like added, but they have been quickly adding functionality. **Recommendations to others considering Finmark:** The product is excellent, and so is the customer support. They have implemented numerous features I requested in short order. **What problems is Finmark solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tracking/analyzing/assessing financial performance. I'm doing better analysis in a fraction of the time. ### 15.
