"Great modern tool for industrial applications"
What do you like best about Factry Historian?

Factry is a simple yet powerful tool for data analysis and reporting. The feature packed software keeps improving each year with additional features with feedback from customers.

Combined with the dashboarding of Grafana, both operator and managers are finding the tool useful for monitoring, analyzing and alerting the users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Factry Historian?

Some nice to have features are not yet implemented. However, since using the software since 2023, Factry team constantly improves it with customer feedback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User friendly and great customer support"
What do you like best about Factry Historian?

Accessibility to our process data is what I find most helpful about Factry Historian. And a major upside to it is the volume of data it can process and the ease at which you can do so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Factry Historian?

There are always features that will benefit your workflow that may be missing but Factry's team is receptive to feedback and your proposed feature may make it into a future release. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"No BS, built on open source historian"
What do you like best about Factry Historian?

Factry historian does what it is supposed to do.

It connects easily to the factory and combined with the intuitivity of grafana, allows the end-user to consume the data with little to no training.

There are no limitations about the number of tags that can be captured.

It uses open source software/platforms like (postgresql, influxdb, linux) in the backend and a browser for the frontend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Factry Historian?

The only things I can think of are things are nice-to-have features, I am sure that they will be implemented soon in the latest version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Modern data historian system with no artificial limitations"
What do you like best about Factry Historian?

Unlike many old-school data historians, Factry Historian doesn't impose artificial limits on the number of users or collected data points. This ethos of 'openness' is also apparent elsewhere in the system, with Grafana, the system's main dashboarding tool, and its databases offering almost endless possibilities for creating powerful customized solutions for visualizing and analyzing data from industrial systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Factry Historian?

Factry Historian is still a comparatively new and rapidly evolving product, and can be rough around the edges at times. The good thing is that the team behind it takes customer feedback seriously and often implements bugfixes and improvements very quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible and easy to use for data management"
What do you like best about Factry Historian?

What I like the most about Factry Historian is the event module. Making it possible to summarize data by shift, do run to run analysis or find the best parameter set.. all easily setup and the visualized in Grafana. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Factry Historian?

Calculations scripts have to be written in Tengo. Something I'm not familiar with but we can count excellent support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Monitoring biomass boilers"
What do you like best about Factry Historian?

How it made available a lot of data that was not actionable. We had locally stored information from our SCADA system which was stored locally. Now everything is in the cloud and easily accessible, which allows us to understand better what is going on and relevant trends.

Using Grafana as the front end has been a good choice for us. It required some learning time, but it is a useful tool that's easy to use for anyone and keeps improving with a large community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Factry Historian?

So functionalities can be complicated to use in Grafana, such as transformations for data visualization and alerting. Both related to Grafana more than Factry, some extra tutorials with examples could be useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A very User Friendly tool with useful features"
What do you like best about Factry Historian?

The automatic failove redundancy functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Factry Historian?

I would like the possibility to do more filter for the measurements in the historian and maybe to create some groups with some users acces for each tags. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Factry simplifies the management of 4.0 big data"
What do you like best about Factry Historian?

Monitoring thousands of data and measurement points and associated trend analysis becomes easily manageable through self-created dashboards and trend pages.

Retrieving data from years ago can be done quickly thanks to strongly implemented data management.

The learning curve for operators and administrators is not too steep.

Data management across several production sites is easily possible.

Factry can provide connectors to any known industrial standard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Factry Historian?

So far, we haven't really encountered a weak point.

Since we store our data in the cloud, we do depend a little more on a good network connection; but that is actually outside the Factry application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Open source all the way!"
What do you like best about Factry Historian?

The data collected with factry historian is completely yours and you can do whatever you want to do with it, without being bound to (black box) solutions, so no surprises or artificial 'extra services'. It's a very transparant, honest company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Factry Historian?

The dashboardingsystem used by Factry, called 'Grafana' is very nice and with a low learning curve, but lacks functionallity for more complex issues and alerts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible solutions supported by well experienced engineers"
What do you like best about Factry Historian?

Afforadable solution that allows for collecting and storing data at machine speed en store any relevant time in detail.

Based on open standards that are very well supported by InfluxDB and Grafana.

Factry keeps up with the stable releases of the underlaying open source technologies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Factry Historian?

Not a dislike but before starting an implementation project you need to consider your needs and spend time to set standards and design. With all available flexibility, (design) choices have to me made and standards set.

Factry is not an Out-Of-The-Box solution but a platform than can do almost everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
