There are so many moving components with a hybrid event, so having the Joyn team there to support the platform set up and management helped us focus on our on-the-ground delivery and marketing. **What do you dislike about evexus?** Some of the platform components seemed to be double-ups for our event - such as having sessions and then talks within those. It was an easy thing to adjust but something that would have confused our delegates if both had been set up. **What problems is evexus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having everything for one (or multiple) events in one place that is easy to use for both delegate and organiser - i.e. the program, on-demand recordings and in the future, our ticket sales. Everything seemed much more streamlined than our last platform (EventsAIR) where there were way too many components and sections you needed to set up to have one working event. ### 2. Nothing was too much trouble and that made the event planning and execution processes so much easier. **What do you dislike about evexus?** We found the breakout room activities to be slightly clunky. I think there is an opportunity for Joyn to improve their user experience when it comes to being able to see and hear everyone in the breakout rooms. **What problems is evexus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Joyn provided a solution to hosting an online event we had that was bespoke and curated. The platform is very customisable and the team has a lot of experience to provide creative solutions based on other events they've worked on and their deep knowledge of the platform. We never waited long for a member of the team (more than one person working on our event), which was impressive given the recent pressures felt by most organisations at the moment. We didn't have to control any of the technical production on that day and were in very safe hands with their staff. We felt really well covered and it made our lives much easier as a very small in-house events team. **What do you dislike about evexus?** Not all features are fully customisable, for example, we wanted to limit the number of people in networking rooms to a smaller number than Delegate Connect's set capacity. This wasn't possible but the team suggested some other solutions for us to make it work. I would have liked more explanation upfront about some of the work we needed to do in preparation for the event. We were pointed to many online resources/ knowledge articles but having these pieces of work explained by the team members in the first instance would have been better. They received this feedback well. **Recommendations to others considering evexus:** Don't be shy to pose specific challenges to the Delegate Connect team so you can see how they respond so thoughtfully to your org's event needs. I liked how customisable and brandable the platform is, as well as the fact that Delegate Connect has several options for attendee connection and engagement. **What problems is evexus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Full-service online event, content and connecting platform. Being able to hold registration, pre/during/post event on the site. Not having to build platform or run technical production ourselves, as well as not having to navigate the platform solo. The team had a solutions for almost every single thing and were available to help almost always within 24 hours. I was very impressed with the team's response time, good nature, ability to provide creative and technical solutions for our challenges etc. It was a full service delivery. ### 4. They have made our transition to virtual conferences easy. The staff are friendly, the interface is easy to use and the team have worked with us the whole way to ensure we get what we need from the platform. The virtual room operators on the day help to keep our speakers calm and ready to present. **What do you dislike about evexus?** As with any technology platform, there is room for improvement but DC listens to our needs and is continually improving areas of their platform. Online networking and sponsor interaction is still the biggest challenge for us. DC has functions for this, its just getting the delegates to engage more! It also allows for us to have a "world of speakers" which we normally wouldn't be able to fly out for the conference with our limited budget. From the moment I made the first phone call to ask a few questions, all the way through the event planning and then to the actual event and then the event wrap up. Nothing was too much of a hassle and they guided a hybrid newbie through the whole process and a hybrid event with people attending in persona and dialing in from all over the world. **What do you dislike about evexus?** At times the functionality of the backend seemed to be overly complex, but in all honesty, that was probably down to user error, rather than the fault of the system. And Delegate Connect was always there to answer a phone call and walk me through it. **What problems is evexus solving and how is that benefiting you?** The issue I needed solving was that I was running our biennial conference in the middle of constantly changing travel and hospitality restrictions due to the global pandemic.
