What do you like best about Essentials?

The ability to receive claim status and eligibility from multiple payers and providers in one space, with one login. The option to also update provider data and set up EFT payments for some payers is also convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes there are issues with ERA's posting in Availity with some payers. Usually this is fixed quickly though within a few days. Some payers functionality in payer spaces could be more accessible as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Essentials?

With Availity, I can see if our claims are being sent to their proper insurance, but it also gives me the errors I need to correct if there are any issues. Also, the customer service is excellent, and I can check eligibility for many different insurances. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Essentials?

It was free for a long time for what we were using it for, but it is still a fair price and much cheaper than other clearing houses since we only use it for a handful of claims. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I do not like the inability to view detailed benefit information. I do not like the lack of claim information available for our patients. I do not like how we apply for multiple insurances to be added, yet they aren't. I want more insurances available on Availity, so I do not have to use so many portals. What do you like best about Essentials?

What do you dislike about Essentials?

There are too many issues to address here but I will start with how Availity advertises certain attributes but it does not apply to all insurances. The insurance companies know nothing about Availity, so they cannot help but availity refers you back to the insurance company for any difficulties. You cannot always find claims. You cannot always find payments. You used to be able to find out-of-state BCBS claims but that is nonexistent anymore. It says you can see the insurance cards but this does not apply to all insurance companies. It would be nice to have insurances speak to providers to find out the use of the system and whether or not it is difficult to use. I feel availity sales a product and makes it look greater than what it can perform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
