I was happy when I discovered that Syncfusion provides a free community edition license that provides access to their full range of programming components. This has allowed me to add more functionality to my applications and create a more professional-looking user interface. Syncfusion provides a large number of practical examples to show how its components can be incorporated into an application. This has allowed me to very quickly implement their components into my latest application, add functionality and improve the look of my program. On the few occasions where I have needed assistance from their support team for the more complex components, I have been very impressed with their level of support. It lets you interact with demo versions of Syncfusion's controls, pertinent to the programming platform selected during the installation of SES. It makes it easy to see what a control does and how much better it is than the more limited Microsoft version. For example, it took me a few minutes to decide that the SfRichTextBoxAdv control could solve all the problems that the RichTextBlock and RichEditBox controls could not. To access the feature, simply click Run Local Demos from the default screen, build the Samples app, and browse through the controls. It saves a lot of time. **What do you dislike about Essential Studio?** The UWP documentation on the SfRichTextBoxAdv control does not state the command parameters for commands such as InsertRowCommand. This applies for both, the online and PDF versions. I found the answer in another Syncfusion programming platform, (WPF, I think), after doing a Google search. **Recommendations to others considering Essential Studio:** The assortment of components being offered by Syncfusion Essential Studio fascilitate the quick development of attractive and advanced apps. My experience is with the Universal Windows Platfrom. I can't wait to explore the Xamarin set of offerings. I would recommend Syncfusion Essential Studio to any programmer - new or experienced, entrepreneur, or company, hands down! **What problems is Essential Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** My experience with Syncfusion Essential Studio is as of now limited to usage of the SfRichTextBoxAdv control. This text editor is compatible with the MVVM pattern, offers support for Microsoft's document file types, and it comes with a fully-working printing API. It hasn't just saved me time, it has allowed me to solve programming and design challenges, not possible using Microsoft's standard text editors. ### 13. I normally try to solve my problem by searching the web and at the end when im at the dead end then i make a ticket. Last ticket i made was about a component that lacked a functionality (Context menu) When they recieved and reviewed it (which they updated me at every steps) they confirmed that indeed their component needs a rework and started right away. I was updated on every step by the developers. Like we we let you know on 18 november what have we achieved and what will be the next. or when do you get this product. And they DELIVERED it. **What do you dislike about Essential Studio?** The Quick support (Chat support) is in most cases useless. Sometimes i have a smaller question which i dont thing that needs a ticket and can be asked via chat support. But everytime that i asked the chat support (which it seems that is outsourced to some east asian country) the only thing they do is opening a ticket on behalve of me and let me know that was all they could do. Well i could do that myself. The chat support could be improved or atleast on specialist can be in charge when the normal guy cant figure it out they can send it to the specialist to solve it. and if its too much work for him then a ticket can be made. **What problems is Essential Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** I make prototypes and portal concepts for the clients that need to have a visual experience from their project. Most of them will end up using the syncfusion for their product. its easy and fast to developed with. ### 35. In both cases, it felt like controls designed and built around 2005 with aspx and ajax/json. Going back to using a cshtml/cshtml.cs model, I could never find a way to work within that paradigm. i.e. communicate data between code a page using a 'model', no javascript and returning a page. The responses from the help desk pushed me down the path of using MVC techniques, javascript and json. The Razor page model is supposed to be a simple framework. I could make is work, as long as I introduced the complexiities of MVC. Similar story for Blazor. It felt as if it was not deisgned around Blazor approaches, but with a layer on top of the 2005 design to make it workable. **Recommendations to others considering Essential Studio:** Consider if you want to develop in one of the newer .net frameworks Razor pages (without MVC) or Blazor? If yes, do you want to work in the paradigm of those frameworks? If yes again, maybe there are controls that fit the paradigm better. **What problems is Essential Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** It forces me to work in a different paradigm to the one the framework wants me to work in. No benefits for me, but I imagine that if you have an old application using Syncfusion controls and you want to update to Razor pages or Blazor, it should be really easy. Your interface with the controls is pretty much unchanged. However, if you want to switch to the new frameworks paradigms, there my be issues. ### 38. I started to look at a UIf framework to get me started quickly and provide much more capability for UI controls than I found available in the shipped control set. The controls were easy to use, gave considerably better capability than those available from out the Visual Studio box, and allowed me to develop a sophisticated UI without previous UI experience. In particular, I loved the datagrid control. The Syncfusin framework is delivered with a comprehensive set of demos showing the art of the possible, along with the code showing how the demos were coded. **What do you dislike about Essential Studio?** Many of the controls are implemented on multiple programming models (Winforms, Blazor server side, client side etc). Sometimes it is difficult to find the correct solution to a problem you may be facing on a particular platform, even though it is described by support articles on other platforms.
