Although Syncfusion Essential Studio has met our requirements overall, we do feel the UI components’ default styles could be stronger compared with a few other libraries on the market. In some cases, the look and feel needs additional customization to align with more modern design standards. Even so, most alternatives that come with more polished defaults are simply too expensive for a small organization like ours, so Syncfusion’s offering still feels like the most practical and valuable choice. The Syncfusion EJ2 Spreadsheet component is one of the most full-featured web-based spreadsheet solutions available. It provides a familiar Excel-like UI out of the box with cell formatting, multiple sheet support, formula calculation, and JSON

import/export. The API is flexible enough to build complex features on top of it,

like programmatically creating sheets, inserting data, and applying formatting.

The community license makes it accessible for indie developers and small teams,

and their support team is responsive and willing to engage directly with

Not a dislike but an improvement space: With new releases, the MCP doesn’t provide a clear way to report what has changed from a specific version or how to adapt those changes to the current implementation. I use Essential Studio for developing my own ERP application and find its components to have fantastic options that I can use directly in my projects, saving me significant time. Building list screens was slow and inconsistent. Server-side integration is powerful but not plug and play. Excel filter distinct values feel capped in practice. Localized columns need custom resolver work. Theming inside an existing design takes work. The initial setup took longer, especially for production-grade setup and advanced server-side scenarios, which needed more trial and error than the getting started pages.
