Has a Terraform provider enabling you to configure environments using Infra as Code, which makes creating new infrastructure as easy as opening a pull request. I also find the time to live setting for environments a great feature (that I have not been able to play with). By setting a TTL you can create resources that will be automatically erased, so you can have as many test environments as you need, for example. Their support people have been incredible too! We ask questions and get answers almost instantly, and they take feature request if it's not built into the platform already. **What do you dislike about env zero?** The pricing scheme is not the best, but at least if you select to price by users, you get unlimited runs. In some of the alternatives, you get priced by runs, and when you're just starting, you will have lots of test runs to get things right. I would also like env0 to have better integration with secret managers like Vault (you can do the integration within your Terraform code, though) and a remote state management solution of their own (we rely on S3). **What problems is env zero solving and how is that benefiting you?** With env0 we get IaC automation that just works. They allow us to operate our infrastructure using the GitOps without manually creating CI/CD pipelines. They have integrations with Github and Bitbucket, so you get Terraform plan information straight into your PRs, and once you merge, automation will apply changes. All details are kept in their platform, and you can see every detail in their UI. ### 2. For example, allowing users to define their custom templates in JSON, and edit them inside env0. **What problems is env zero solving and how is that benefiting you?** envo allows me to create new GCP projects easily in an automated and audited way, as well as to share and get assistance from our DevOps team during the process. ### 3. This made the difference for us and enabled our team to lift and shift our existing Atlantis based workflow (i.e. https://www.runatlantis.io/) into env0. **What do you dislike about env zero?** I haven't seen anything so far that I don't like about this tool. **What problems is env zero solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were internally using Atlantis an open source tool from https://www.runatlantis.io/ to collaborate on our PRs and deploy terraform to our production environments in AWS. This was not scaling as the comment-based sequential workflow was slowing us down. Env0 has helped us improve the deploy to prod time greatly. ### 4. It helps non-technical people deploy infrastructure without having to involve the infrastructure team. **What do you dislike about env zero?** It's tough to integrate multiple modules together as an end user. So if a user wants a "VM Module" in azure, and then wants a "storage account" in Azure as well, it's tough to help end users understand how those two can integrate together. Alot of the end users do not have technical experience with Terraform, Cloud, or scripting. **What problems is env zero solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is allowing us to create projects and modules for teams to select the infrastructure they want and deploy it themselves into the cloud. It is taking work off the team. ### 5. The UI in the forms section has our required customizations to help give users context around what they are selecting. The support team at env0 is easy to contact and helpful with advocating for new features if possible. **What do you dislike about env zero?** Nothing major stands out. There were a few bumps along the way at the start, but I attribute that to being early adopters. Any issues we did come across seemed to be promptly addressed. **What problems is env zero solving and how is that benefiting you?** Enables other business units to deploy cloud resources when they need them. It also allows the same business units to destroy the resources when they no longer need them. ### 6. Also, the built-in environment variables management is quite nice, altho there are other alternatives for this one feature. **What do you dislike about env zero?** It's very hard to tell what's the difference between deployments, especially when the deployable stack is big **What problems is env zero solving and how is that benefiting you?** Not sure how much of a benefit we get from it nowadays. The ENV variables management is a cool tool, especially for secrets, but there are many other alternatives ### 8. It's self-service cloud deployment eased the headache of developers managing the infra. **What do you dislike about env zero?** As a beginner to IaC & env0, I would've loved to have a read of their documentation before I burned my hands. But I couldn't find proper documentation. Also when I tried to glance at what services are deployed on a particular EC2 instance, I couldn't find them immediately. **What problems is env zero solving and how is that benefiting you?** For those uncomfortable/ early in their IaC tracks, env0 eases the process of setting up deployments and manage cloud services from one place. As a beginner, that helped me quite a bit. ### 13.
