The most prominent factor is the speed of their transcription. Access to live TV and radio mentions almost instantly (within around 30 seconds to 1 minute of going to air) has changed the way our team approaches media monitoring. The filtering tools have great flexibility as well. It’s easy to set up customised search profiles with complex keywords. The platform is excellent at avoiding noise. What do you dislike about eMedia Monitor? Navigating through large historical data reports using the web interface is a bit clunky (if not using an automatic feed). Moreover, the search portal appears to be focused on utility rather than looking sleek. In summary, the app works really well and doesn’t crash. Monitoring mentions in TV and digital broadcast in multiple regions involved a huge reliance on constant manual effort, plus big blind spots. Prior to eMM was implemented. eMM handles the whole process for us. We receive instant alerts whenever our key brand terms or major industry topics are mentioned on air or online. As per our experience with the dart API, we can easily say it is the best feature. With other services, you don’t get any choice but to use their web dashboard which auto-normalises data. Here we stream raw structured metadata directly to our Power BI and Tableau via eMM. You might enjoy it. Ingestion usually takes less than 30 seconds. In addition, the precision of their speech-to-text transcription in digital video, YouTube and podcasts is far superior to what we have used. The interface may feel overwhelmingly technical for a non-technical user while setting up the original queries as it is designed for technical speed rather than designed visual appeal. Creating and using advanced Boolean strings and custom filtering does not take much time to master. After picking it up, you will find it works excellently. Utility Communications biggest concern is that the same news is repeatedly covered (duplicate mentions) and the annoyance of advertisements. It particularly becomes a pain when tracking local radio or TV coverage during the release of a new policy. We eventually made a switch to e-Media Monitor (eMM) because our former system couldn't filter those annoying advertising segments adequately. Their duplication detection and ad filtering capabilities have eliminated noise or clutter in our daily reviews to a great extent. Furthermore, the eMM Dart editorial workflow is excellent in enabling the team to collaborate. One of the big advantages of this collaborative approach is that team members can independently draft clip summaries and carry out sentiment analysis without overriding other team members' work. As a result, preparing the morning board briefing has become significantly faster and simpler. What do you dislike about eMedia Monitor? Although their "Superprofiles" feature was created to simplify complex Boolean logic, setting up this query visualisation tool seemed a bit messy at first. If the logic paths are not arranged perfectly, the spam prevention warning is triggered repeatedly before the profile is activated. At first, it behaves a little more sensitively than necessary. Another thing I noticed is that although their automated translated summaries are quite fast for European channels, when a lot of metadata is pushed together in Dropbox exports, the layout formatting of the report looks a bit messy. We are mainly using eMM to track global and regional energy policy news from more than 90 countries, especially keeping a close eye on TV, radio and now YouTube. Just a few weeks ago, around 11 pm, a local channel in Switzerland aired a rather critical news item about our grid reliabilityan unscheduled broadcast. Thanks to eMM's ultra-low-latency alerts and native-quality archive player, our Rapid Response Team was able to download exactly the right amount of clips instantly and without any hassle. We didn't have to sit for hours to download artificial segments. As a result, we were able to send our official statement to the local media before the morning news paper hit the market, which saved us from a major public relations crisis.
