**Reviewed by:** Nuthigattu K. | Senior Executive, Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about edX?**

I am using the organization-sponsored Edx account, which is based on my profile and skillsets and recommends the best courses in the industry to learn and acquire new strengths and skills. The course list is excellent; we can choose as many classes as we like and add them to our profile for a better strengthening of our resume. The automatic course recommendations are the best thing I want; I can enroll without any hassle.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

I sometimes find even the finished modules, and I won't go to the next module but restart the same module; I feel some UI error or bug. I had to reload the page to go to the next module. These process flow errors can be fixed.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being competitive, we need to upskill, learn new skills, and courses regularly to be updated. In this space, Edx is providing top quality, content-rich and smooth processing courses from top colleges and tutors. ### 9. Virtual Learning made easy and fun over edX

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neha B. | Product Manager, Consumer Goods, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about edX?**

edX tie-up with the world's best educational institutions and providing the best courses with reasonable time frames to finish the modules is the one thing I like most about edx. Though i cannot various universities in the US or UK I can enroll for the same over Edx and get a good learning curve and get certified.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

The recommendation feature needs improvement.
Though my profile and my interests are in computer applications, sometimes my homepage throws course recommendations of arts and sciences that are irrelevant.
Maybe that can be improved.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

edx is so far the best online learning portal, though it has some flaws the course content and course details are too good.
Apart from video lectures, edx also provides transcripts of all the lectures which helps me to download and refer again for my understanding.
edx courses are highly valuable and give good strength to my resume.

  ### 10. Business ready with EDX courses

The pedagogy of each course at EDX is well-designed and tailored for the best-in-class understanding.
Tutors are very much skilled and engage with real-world examples to make it more relevant to the case studies.

The university certifications are good, but the availability of university degree programs are less in EDX compared to other online learning platforms.
Adding more degrees will definitely help in the long run.

I am using my company-given, corporate EDX account.

  ### 11. Finding right courses on EdX for career advancement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Umesh M. | Product Consultant, Financial Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about edX?**

The best part of EDX is the wide range of catalogs on different courses from various institutions across the globe. I can get to choose the best courses depending on my requirement and enroll in the same. I can even complete my courses at my own pace for selected courses.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

Some of the courses are the best in the industry and really give a big boost, but start from a second level which requires the learner to have the pre-requisite understanding of the concepts. If the same courses are available from a level down and make sit beginner friendly, that could be a huge advantage.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ar my workplace, the management always seeks skills improvement whether it is for personal growth or even for the professional or annual promotion cycle. The certifications I have enrolled in and completed through EDX have actually helped me a lot in concepts and upgrade myself to the market requirements and also helped me at my workplace for the promotion as well.

4. When you opt for a paid subscription, your assignments will be reviewed by one of the world's best professors.

Great teachers and content, whenever I've needed to develop a skill or give structure to something I've learned on the job it has been at the top of my list. A great source for serial learners.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

To say something, I've had not had a second chance when I've not been able to fulfill a test deadline for a paid-for course. Family and work are my priorities, I expected more flexibility to get certified.

The clear need for me is to complete my skillset a la carte, meaning I can tailor my own learning journey based on my specific weaknesses, areas of interest, and work-related needs.

**Reviewed by:** samia k. | p, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2021

**What do you like best about edX?**

I love the variety of the topics, the organization of the content, and how the layout is so consistent between courses. EdX gives you the ability to learn about any topic and get a great baseline understanding of it.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

Sometimes the content of the course is not what I am looking for. The range of audiences on the platform is so wide that oftentimes I feel that the course is not for me. This happened with two courses I recently took on EdX, a child protection course, and a cryptocurrency course.
Both courses had at least 60% or more information that was not relevant to me. I am glad that the audit option was available because I would not have liked to pay for those courses and then find out that they were created for someone else.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to get a basic understanding of a new topic that I want to learn about. I am able to skim through a course and find the parts that are relevant to me.

  ### 18. One of the reliable authoring tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahtesham N. | Software engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2022

**What do you like best about edX?**

The best thing in Edx is that the user has the power to customize the things in the projects if the user knows how to add css stlying. mostly edx authoring components are supported by HTML

**What do you dislike about edX?**

The thing I dislike is the EDX authoring components are may more complex for the front-end users to use it has so many standards to follow if wants to smoothly results.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was creating projects for our clients but the main issue we faced is that on some pages there was cache timer. we have to wait 30 min for the changes to reflect. event for the smallest change we have to wait

  ### 19. Best Virtual Learning Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed Hassan Fazil H. | Media and Graphics Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2021

**What do you like best about edX?**

I like the UI for both the learner's web page and the authoring developer's page, i.e., the edX Studio. It consists of almost all the relevant features that an authoring software should have. In other words, edX has everything to make the class intriguing. Moreover, I prefer this among other competitors because I believe that the edX platform will befit both academic learning and school education well.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

Ease of access. A tutor has to learn some basic skills like HTML etc., to publish more engaging content. For example, importing content from PowerPoint slides is not easy when compared to other authoring tools existing.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I believe edX solves the problem of schooling, especially during Covid Pandemic. Though It's all depends upon the tutor. With the edX platform, the learning experience is made much similar to traditional learning methods. It really filled the gap.

  ### 20. Benefits of EdX

**What do you dislike about edX?**

Industry specific specific cources are not available and we cannot request cources to the website. There are very few cources on the architecture and planning industry.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EdX is great for certified cources for me and my employees. It has helped me solve problem like social media marketing, python coding and branding for my business.

  ### 21. Free learning from an Ivy League institution? Yes, please!

  ### 22. Clear and Concise Educational Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raja B. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2021

**What do you like best about edX?**

I found the way the quiz and the exercises to test your knowledge well organised on the Platform

Platform in general is easy to navigate - courses are easy to find, quizzes and problems are adequate and based on the content + a bit of reflexion, you should be most of the time able to reply or find the solution to a problem.

Some courses had great instructors and it is not only the way they teach but the way they share some tips and advices - it almost feels like personal tutoring.

I really really liked the format of the quizzes and some of the problems.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

Honestly nothing really as the I did take several courses and was satisfied by the content.

Maybe I sometimes found some courses a bit old.

I know software programming and tech are evolving fast but it would be great to propose some updates or refresher to some courses.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly to boost my skills and indirectly help my career growth.

I took the MIT python courses to reinforce my skills in Python.

I took some some C# courses to be able to write code in my company.

When we moved from C# to Javascript I did took a course then again when we moved to Typescript.

I was able to straight apply my learning into real work problems and the change was noticed by my coworkers and my leads.

  ### 23. All interests are covered, there's something for everyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2021

**What do you like best about edX?**

You can find courses for all different interests, presented by some of the best in the field. Even highly ranked Universities offer their courses, most often for free.
In addition, the certificates can easily be downloaded or integrated in various platforms such as LinkedIn which makes it super easy to include them in every resume.
Most courses are offered in English and communicating with other learners can be very helpful. The forums offer the opportunity to exchange questions and tips with other people taking the same course.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

Maybe a reminder for the classes would be good in order to stay on top of things and help to create a good routine especially while working.
Sometimes in niche courses there isn't as much exchange happening in the forum, maybe there could be someone from the course starting conversations.
Navigating the courses sometimes can be a bit more complicated than with other platforms, especially within the discussion forums. But with some time you can get used to it.

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

It's easy to use, free and you can do most courses self-paced, so no reason not to try it.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever I feel like I want to know more about a certain topic, I check the edX courses available and have a look. Since most of the courses are free I can simply give it a go. Even if sometimes it seems like the course is very long, if you're determined you can watch several videos a day and complete the course faster.
I can easily extent my knowledge of different areas in my own pace, which is particularly important when having a full time job. Also, I can rewatch single classes again whenever needed.

  ### 24. Online course provider I've used multiple times

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chrissy Y. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2020

**What do you like best about edX?**

Almost everything on the website and in the individual courses in well-organized. edX has a gigantic collection of courses with lots of relevancy with my job. I can log into my edX and learn the course material at my convenience. I like that there are multiple types of content that help to deliver a fuller learning experience.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

I think the prices for some of the courses are too high. The courses I have taken have been worth the money though.

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

Do some research to ensure you're enrolling course with the most up-to-date information.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Learning about software and acquiring skills that have real merit in my career is done in a convenient way through edX. I can pinpoint skills that I'll actually use often in my job. There isn't as much waste, such as theory and history, which is more or less useless in my job activities.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruno M. | Research Intern, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2021

**What do you like best about edX?**

Learn at my own pace. Interesting courses

**What do you dislike about edX?**

Some courses are a bit expensive for me.

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

Don´t be afraid to learn topics you have little background. That's the bauty of learning at your own pace. You can take your time in what's difficult for you and you can save time by not taking so much time in what you alreaddy know.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The "Introduction to Aerospace Engineering: Astronautics and Human Spaceflight" course from MIT was probably one of the reasons I got to attend 2 trainning courses at the European Space Agency. The "Java Fundamentals for Android Development" from Galileo University got me an internship at a Software company and allowed to stand out among other interns. I took the "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence" before I took an Artificial Intelligence course at university. I got the best mark in that course.

  ### 28. Quality and well organized lectures that is very useful when taking online studies

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2021

**What do you like best about edX?**

I have taken the lecture series entitled Principles in Biochemistry and i found it very useful and interesting since it tackles most of the fundamental knowledge required to gain competence on the topic.

The lecturer is very professional and knowledgeable. Coming from Harvard University website. I trusted edX

The PowerPoint slides are well organised. The provided exercise are well suited to back up the topics discussed.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

edX interface can be somewhat overwhelming and there are several offering in one page. It would be also nice to provide trial price for students and alike so that it will be accessible to many.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly used edX to take lectures that were not covered in my normal university course. It helped me to gain a quick review and also enhances my existing knowledge.

  ### 29. Great Resource for Continuing Education

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jana R. | Graphic Fabrication Design Intern, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2020

**What do you like best about edX?**

EdX allows you to work at your own pace through university level coursework. There are a wide variety of courses to choose from, and most are of high quality from well known universities around the world. A nice feature some courses utilize is the forum setup that allows you to post, view, and comment on classmates' work - this is a useful tool that makes courses feel more akin to in-person learning. I especially appreciate this feature in creative/design oriented courses where users can upload their sketches and models to communicate more complex ideas.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

The only negative to edX is the high price point for access to full availability to certain courses. Luckily, most courses have the option to "audit" the course for free. However, in auditing you typically do not receive the full experience (access to all content, feedback on your work, verification of course completion, etc.)

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

edX would be a great addition to a company-sponsored continued learning program. I would recommend the platform to companies looking for easy to use coursework for their employees.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EdX has been a great way to keep up with continued education and improve my skills during downtime this year due to COVID-19. These courses are ideal for learning in a safe and socially distanced environment, and the flexibility that is provided through the online platform will allow me to continue these courses when my work schedule picks up again. I plan to continue to use edX regularly to maintain and expand my technical skills, as well as explore new interests.

It is a good application for E-leaning, we can easily learn any courses from this application. The professors explain all the topics with the help of visual graphs and diagrams which helps in enhancing our data analytical skills and communication skills too.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

The major point to dislike is that we do not get the feel of the physical presence of teachers and the classroom and sometimes it becomes vague and boring for us because there are no fun facts so that we can understand the topic with more ease.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco S. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2019

**What do you like best about edX?**

Most of the courses I have taken at edX are very thorough and have most of the primary information I'm looking for in the subjects I'm learning about. I like that edX has an unorthodox type of structure compared to taking a course in person at a school. The materials often have text, video and other resources that we can access any time, which is very convenient for us. I think that the instructors for the courses that I've taken are respectable people and very credible.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

I think that the pricing isn't outrageous, but I think that it would be better if the prices were a bit lower. Some of the information I can get from lots of the courses can be sought out for free online either through search engines or through more open type of courses.

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

Just about any type of industry professional can benefit from edX courses. I think that you should browse through edX if you are considering some e-learning courses to take. You can get a good idea of all the courses they have to offer and even preview the course material to get an idea of the topics you'll cover within each subject.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

edX helps me to quickly find subject matter that I'm looking to learn about. I can also get ideas about new subjects that I can learn that I maybe didn't think about before. edX helps me to advance through certain parts of my career by filling in knowledge I might not be comfortable talking about.

**What do you like best about edX?**

The quality of courses and the educators way of teaching stuff.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

The benefits include a great learning experience from top universities around the world while sitting at the comfort of your home. It helps me to learn courses that help me solve problems that I face in my professional as well as personal development projects.

  ### 41. Edx adds value to online education.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rosemary M. | Customer Service Representative, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2019

**What do you like best about edX?**

Edx is free! That's the most striking thing about it. Unlike most free services on the internet, I do not regret using EdX. I used Edx to prepare for my IELTS test. At the time, I could not afford to take offline classes and I stumbled on the edX IELTS tutorials. I love the attention to detail; how edX carefully outlines the course contents and lays it out in several forms. I was initially worried about whether I would get the most out of the tutorials what with it being free. But the tutorial was created to suit all my audio-visual needs; it had videos, text, practice tests and audio prompts. It was an all-round learning experience that paid off. I secured 8.0 overall score on my IELTS, thanks to edX.
Since then, I have continued to take several other courses on edX, even on the go; not only does the app perfect on my mobile, I have the option of downloading lessons and study offline when I do not have access to the internet.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

The exercise can be quite data consuming. To get the most out of edX, I had to watch all the videos, download and upload audio. I found myself spending more than I had hoped, purchasing data plans to sustain my study.

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

I highly recommend edX, I count their contribution to the online education sector as a step in the right direction.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

edX is the answer to free education that we all seek. Presently, I am learning a language for free on edX and it has helped me to seize opportunities that are aiding my progress in my career path.

  ### 42. Outstanding Value

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaime "Jim" S. | CEO, Management Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2019

**What do you like best about edX?**

The ability to access relevant real world subject matter from high profile educational institutions to obtain tangible certifications. It's been a significant benefit to me and part of why, after many years of unemployment due to the financial crisis, I have been able to secure professional employment at a base salary of $60,000 in the financial services industry. I have been an edX student since 2013 and the added factor of financial aid in the form of discounts was a game changer for me. I love and recommend this platform routinely to anyone and everyone.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

There's really not that much to dislike about the courses themselves and their presentation. However, I would like to see a broader array of subject matter in some areas. It would be a benefit to be able to verify as a legitimate education platform in the eyes of services and products that offer "Student Discounts" such as The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, etc.

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

Take full advantage of this MOOC platform while you can and it is still very, very affordable. This is a superior manner in which to enhance ones advantage in a very competitive professional world. The certifications are of merit and easily verifiable

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit has been the ability to offer current and relevant certifications in those fields of study and the strength is has provided me when submitting my CV to any number of possibilities.

  ### 43. Quality Online Education

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2020

**What do you like best about edX?**

edX ensured high calibre of instructors/professors and high quality contents

**What do you dislike about edX?**

Mobile App: edX videos do not run on background unlike in Coursera so I can't listen to the videos while on commute unless I leave the app running on unlocked screen

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

If you want great value for money on paid courses, edX is a great fit. Nevertheless, edX is the only MOOC provider that is a nonprofit .

If you want free contents, edX have satisfied many users too. Guaranteed high quality instructors, high quality contents.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am in the midst of building enough knowledge and skills for a career shift. edX contributed a lot in building not just my knowledge and skills but also my confidence. I do indeed take pride in everything I gained from edX.

**What do you like best about edX?**

EdX is comprehensive, straightforward and easy to use. It offers various professional courses and there are certificates at the end of the course. I like that EdX offers free courses except when you require a certificate, and even when the course is not free, you can still audit the course material and access content. I also like that EdX has a star rating program that helps inform learners about courses based on
other learner’s experiences before enrolling. I also like the categorization and structure of courses. You can search for a course randomly through a refined search or locate by subject making everything simpler.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

Some courses in EdX are entirely not free. You need to pay a fee to be able to access and use the material more effectively.

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

If you are searching for a flexible self-paced online learning platform with quality content, I’d definitely recommend edX. There’s a wide range of courses for you to choose from, offered by lecturers from top universities.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Toba B. | IT Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2019

**What do you like best about edX?**

Edx is one of the greatest platforms to improve yourself academically. I like it because it is so full of opportunities to get hands-on knowledge and skills outside the classroom. I also like how it does help both academic students as well as professionals that are in need of extra knowledge and certifications. However, certifications are very well-acknowledged and accepted everywhere in the world.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

The only complain I might have is the cost of enrolling in courses. It's kind of above average.

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

Great services. Enjoy learning with it.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I will continue to improve my knowledge with edx. It has been really worth it.

  ### 47. I liked the course material and plan to take more courses

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julius C. | Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2019

**What do you like best about edX?**

I don't really have a substantial amount of time to take courses at a college or some other in-person institutions like seminars or short courses, but I found edX to have quality courses that allow me get the most out of the time I do have. The edX website is easy to use and has many details available for each course. I can pick a few different courses and compare the information quickly to figure out the course that is best for me. I like that there are many types of media files for us to access, not just text page or documents.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

There is less of a personal feel to these online courses compared to standard courses I have taken in the past. My completed edX courses don't really have the certification level that college courses have. Most of the courses I've taken are strictly for the knowledge acquired, as opposed to getting items to build my resume.

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

I would say that edX is one of the top online course platforms out there right and would recommend it to anyone serious about getting a quality education, especially about modern topics that may be more relevant to your job compared to standard courses.

**What problems is edX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can get easy access to courses that are more robust than typical information I might find out there through search engine searches and business articles. I can set aside a short period of time out of my day, whether it's during the morning or late at night, and really get into the course material and focus on the absorbing the information as much as possible. I've been able to learn skills that I can actually use during business activities.

**Reviewed by:** Morgan T. | Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2019

**What do you like best about edX?**

The amount of detail that goes into the courses I've taken was really great. I would say that the course material structure was very similar to courses I've taken at actual colleges. I feel like I can learn the course information much more effective online, especially when edX helps to sort material in a way that makes it easy to access. The amount of courses on edX is great. I like that they're not all boring traditional school type courses.

**What do you dislike about edX?**

Most of my courses were not too expensive, but some courses can get quite up there in price. I think it's hard to fully justify some of the high prices for digital course material with limited live involvement. I don't really dislike anything about the courses or the professors though.

**Recommendations to others considering edX:**

If you're really picky about your education or courses that can help you develop skills in your profession, then edX should satisfy you compared to alternatives out there at the moment. Learning from actual school professors helps to ensure you're getting a reputable education.
