  ### 1. BUYER BEWARE!!!  Difficult system, difficult customer service.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

ZERO. I have had zero good experiences over 6 years of force use. Ecolane has no good qualities at all!

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

Ecolane is marketed as a purpose-built NEMT dispatch solution, but many core features required for real-world NEMT operations are either missing, poorly designed, or require expensive customization.

First, the platform appears to have been designed without meaningful input from people who have actually worked in NEMT operations. Accessibility transportation requires detailed vehicle and equipment tracking, yet the system historically only allowed a limited number of vehicle types. Even basic additions like stretcher capacity required persistent requests before they were implemented.

Even now, the platform lacks appropriate vehicle classifications for the full spectrum of NEMT services. There is no clear option for Non-Emergency Ambulance or higher-acuity transportation levels, which are commonly used in the NEMT ecosystem for members who require stretcher transport, oxygen monitoring, or other medical support that falls between wheelchair transport and emergency EMS. The absence of these vehicle classifications makes it difficult to accurately dispatch trips and track services across the full range of medically necessary transportation levels.

More concerning is the lack of functionality around accessibility specifications. The system does not allow users to easily capture essential details such as whether a vehicle uses a ramp or lift, ramp width, height clearance, or weight capacity. These are fundamental pieces of information for safely transporting mobility device users.

Driver usability is another major issue. The mobile interface is difficult for drivers to use in real-world conditions. Simple tasks often require multiple steps, and the system is not intuitive for drivers who are trying to manage routes while safely operating a vehicle. Because of this, trips are frequently marked incorrectly due to system behavior, confusing prompts, or GPS inaccuracies rather than driver error. This creates additional administrative work for dispatchers and compliance teams who must manually review and correct trip data.

Closed API's make it impossible to use when you have a company that works for more than one contract. Ecolane doesn't have anything except outdated software to hide.

One time, I was told repeatedly by a customer service agent I was wrong about a report not pulling the drivers company in an export. A list of nearly a thousand drivers and not a single company name included.  The agent fought with me, told me I was wrong, and said the export pulls the provider. It does now, but when I told her to pull it for me, she finally admitted that the company wasn't included. Little errors are constantly happen at this company. Those litter errors can lead to big regulatory issues.

Performance is awful! We regularly, almost daily, get a notice saying there are too many users and the website cannot handle the capacity.

**What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NONE. They want money for every resolution. They are understaffed and do not respond to tickets in a timely fashion. Timeliness is less than 6 months for an answer. Oftentimes, they will make an update to the software that we request, it costs tens of thousands of dollars, and the module or update made it lackluster and doesn't meet the needs for the request.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

The tracking and monitoring capabilities of the system are really beneficial. I like the ability to produce multiple reports in compliance with our contractual obligations has been greatly improved with Ecolane. I love that NTD reporting is so simple with the software and the time it takes to prepare reports is a mere fraction of what we used to spend to get reliable data. I like that the data that goes into the software can be retrieved and used to make business-related transportation decisions to better serve customers. A very important point is that Ecolane is continually working on the product to improve it and provide the best service.

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

Program group rides from the same geographic area and location appear to fail when the system detects that there are other qualified drivers in the area. Some of the processes take multiple steps/clicks where, if configured differently, they could be done on a single page. I don't really have any major issues that I can say we don't like about the software, I feel like it's a great tool that keeps evolving.

**What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mapping capabilities allow trips and drivers to be monitored and tracked. It allows producing various reports in compliance with contractual obligations and internal evaluations on the performance of drivers on time. Copies of client age verification forms can be saved in the software, eliminating the need to search through filing cabinets. This tool eliminates a lot of time and effort to manually produce the necessary data, plus it has significantly increased our productivity and we see a steady reduction in driver payroll hours.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

Ecolane's software allows us to work on the largest ADA Paratransit and Human Services contracts in our County with ease. Their team is exceptionally easy to work with when we need support and whenever we need in-person training, they are only an airplane ride away from stopping in to see us.

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

They recently did a major upgrade to the software and I did notice that there were a lot of changes. In the future, I hope that they will reach out via phone or email to set up a meeting to review the new features prior to the system rollout. The idea is to be proactive with the changes and not reactive.

**Recommendations to others considering Ecolane:**

If you're in need of a support team when operating your transit agency, Ecolane is a great company to work with. Their team is exceptional and they actually care about their clients. It's refreshing in the transportation industry to have a partner agency that wants you to be successful.

**What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our ability to verify and track drivers in real-time is an amazing feature. The variety of reporting that we are able to pull is also extremely helpful.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

Off the top visually, the interface is a leap over the previous Ecolane DRT interms of what you see upon logging in. The range of usable options that are availible at your fingertips gives the user much more control over how they manage the day to day operations within the chosen area of focus. You can access nearly all areas of Ecolane from the log in page. Drop down options along with quck links allow for smooth and seemless navigation throughout the system.

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

There is not much that I have found so far to dislike. I am still learning to navigate all the new features and have not found anything as of yet that I have not found to be an improvment over the DRT.

**What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiancies of how operators navigate through the system. more information is visible to dispatchers without opening mutiple pages to cycle through. 

 Reservationists are able to schedule trips in a more efficiant manner due to a cleaner reservation page that allows a more logical information flow. 

maps are instantaniously visible without waiting for google Earth to open when checking locations information.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

Ecolane delivers what it promises, I like that tihis software is easy to use and excellent to track my fleet at any time in real time, its export functios are undoubtedly excellent, it also has models and billing reports that are very important; Its fantastic.

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

It tends to be slow, rarely takes time to load, and tends to crash, and I also don't like that you can't change the destinations of a driver you're going to once your goal has been achieved.

A software that I would definitely recommend is a good one; You should try it now.

Everything has been excellent, it is easy to use, we have improved, and we have been more efficient with reports and billing. It also allows us to track shipments in real-time and streamlines each routing process; I hope it continues like this.

Ecolane has been amazing and we love almost everything about it!  There are a few things we wish were different but it is easy to use and the drivers love it!

More robust fare collection piece and having to open more than one window.

I like Ecolane because it always gives good results when we track transports. It is incredible how it works; it offers a complete and easy-to-use service for any user, a beautiful and fluid interface; I love this system.

I think that some functions can improve only minor details, for example, receiving confirmation messages, so that one feels sure that the drive received it, on the other hand, I have not had any inconvenience that affects the use of this tool.

It is a tool that everyone should use to streamline transportation processes and thus obtain billing and location information in real-time, it is fantastic.

It is a very flexible tool with great features, and I can also use it anywhere, and it saves me a lot of time, it is perfect, and also its application has an excellent modern interface that facilitates its use in which I can manage trips and invoices.

I have no complaints, the support is excellent, and he knew how to solve all my problems and guided me from beginning to end.

I am not the type of person who usually recommends tools, but this would be an exception because Ecolane is worth it, simply because it is good and does the job.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

Using this software we easily tripled our daily trips without adding resources. 

Manage all facets of trip experience from client profile, scheduling, dispatch, driver manifest, all at your fingertips at all times.

Client use of the Ecolane app for Apple and Android reduces call volume and put trip control in the riders hands.  Credit card payment.

Receive notification your vehicle has arrived for pickup and much more.

Really there is to much to list.. 

This is why its a hidden gem fir transit.

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

Very little to dislike, the Ecolane is constantly listening to the user and making improvements to how the system can better work for each agency.

**What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a very long time user with over 12 years of experience with this system. We are still reaping benefits, all the capabilities have not been reached or found out yet in my opinion. You have to be willing to change your thinking, allow the software to work. 

For example, having a problem with long wait times for callers who want to schedule a ride. 

Solution, self-serv and app scheduling. Reduces calls clients can schedule at there leisure not be restricted to business hours.

It is easy to deploy and understand how it works. It  gives us great real time data on how our transport systems are  progressing. There is proper analysis of the transportation of goods and delivery of services to our customers without delay.

I love that ecolane is easy to use everyday!  The batch optimize feature is a great feature and really helps.

I really dislike trips dropping into the "middle" of a run with no rhyme or reason!

This has really cut down on paperwork and helped with the drivers understanding the importance of time for pick ups and drop offs

Ecolane DRT is more reliable solution on mileage tracking, but also it can offers the best capabilities on easy billing and invoicing services and extremely perfect for scheduling.
Their free Demo is really helping those are trying Ecolane DRT at the first time, online support from the team is always responsive and their effective training through various means.

There is absolutely no any single error which i can say that i experienced through the tool implementation.

Ecolane DRT offers some powerful functionalities for the user to be able to provide great quality services and effectively and starting using the software is simple via their online or documentation training they offer.

I like that it is easy to use and that its sections are so organized that it is very easy to find them, its real-time programming functions and GPS data, tracking at any time, it is very efficient.

Everything was going very well, however we had problems changing the destination of where it is going, it was a problem at that time, but then everything was solved.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

I like that you can quickly assemble multiple runs with hundreds of trips in a relatively short period of time as well as the response time improvements with same day issues.  We went from 6-8 hours to produce runs down to under 3 hours and our ability to respond to same day issues can now be measured in seconds as apposed to minutes.  We have also seen an improvement open time since the system is able to show real time utilization figures per run.  This allows us to improve response times by reassign trips to other runs with availability.  

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

My biggest complete with Ecolane would be that when the system has to many trips, it will "over" assign runs.  This means you can have runs starting with negative open time.  I would much prefer that the extra people remained on the Open list so that it would be easier to see what times we would need to consider extra runs.

**Recommendations to others considering Ecolane:**

It is a solid product that is improving as time goes by.  Like all routing software packages, it has issues, but they are getting less as time goes by.  

**What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time management, response time improvement, efficiency.  We see an improvement in the amount of time it takes to assemble daily runs, improved ability to be flexible with client times and improved efficiency with scheduling.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

The software works very well overall, but the best features of Ecolane are the real-time optimization and the trip negotiation features.  I have not seen a competitor that can do either of these tasks.  We also like the availability of add-ons that enhance the customer experience, like the web portal and text messaging.

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

The deviated fixed-route feature needs a lot of manual assistance.  The inability to change trips once they are active is something competitors allow and would be very helpful.   The customer service response times are great on critical issues, but is often very slow on less pressing items.  I often have to follow up to get answers.

**Recommendations to others considering Ecolane:**

Though there are some aspects Ecolane can improve, as someone who used a large competitors solution at a past agency I can say that all software has areas that can be improved.  Ecolane works very well for us and has been very good about incorporating suggestions and improvements over the years.

**What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Despite the few short-comings, Ecolane has greatly improved our efficiency, on-time performance and customer service.  Being a more efficient agency has allowed us to grow our service area with little additional cost.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

I love everything about the system, but the best part about the company is the people.  Everyone knows the importance of the customer and also recognizes our need to provide the best service I can to my customers as well.  I get prompt responses in times of need and am able to speak to a live person 24 hours a day.

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

I honestly cannot think of anything I dislike about the product or the company.  If I am forced to answer, how about a more vibrant color scheme on the DRT software.  

**Recommendations to others considering Ecolane:**

Listen to what the product is and know what it is that you want.  Ecolane is an AWESOME product, but it is a tool, and if it isn't the right tool for your business, know if before you buy it.  You wouldn't use a hammer to make intricate cuts that require a razor.

We have reduced our dependence on our subcontractor usage without any addition of resources.  This has saved us hundreds of thousands of dollars.  We have also been able to provide a different model of service that is more efficient for us and our customers thanks to the implementation of Ecolane.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

The best feature is the data availability.  The real-time data assists in managing daily operating efficiencies resulting in increased customer satisfaction.  The data and reporting capabilities are endless.  We have been able to significantly reduce staff hours for purposes of reporting and data analysis since implementation of Ecolane DRT.

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

Acknowledgement and resolution of non-critical support tickets is an area that could be improved.  However, critical issues and support tickets are always addressed and resolved promptly.

**Recommendations to others considering Ecolane:**

Be well prepared for an implementation such as this.  The data must be clean (spotless) for a smooth transition to the Ecolane software (or any for that matter).

Communicate well with consumers, employees, subcontractors, and business partners in advance of implementation.

It is critical to have a dedicated Project Manager on staff to oversee the project from planning to completion. 

**What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a number of procedural issues during the initial Ecolane implementation because of necessary changes in the way we operate and some resistance from consumers, subcontractors, and business partners, because "this is not the way we have always done it".  

We also initially had some issues with the integrity of our data transferred from our previous software.  

Due to the Ecolane reporting capabilities for billing and centralizing our Call Center through use of Ecolane software, we were able to reduce our staff by three full time positions.

We have noted improvements in on-time performance and trips per hour.

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

Not sure.  If it would go by area instead of time it would be great for us.   There are alot of nice features in it. 

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

I don't like that it is based on time rather than area. We live in the Alleghney National Forest and is very secluded. We travel 30 Miles no matter which way we travel to a grocery store or a medical appointment. This is not for a county like ours.

**What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you?**

not solving alot of problems.I  like that it has the potential to do what we need it to do, But by going by time instead of area it doesn't do what i would like it to do. We use the GPS so why not make it go by area instead.Not sure

  ### 24. The many benefits of using the Ecolane DRT system

**What do you like best about Ecolane?**

The Perry County Transportation Authority (PCTA) converted to the Ecolane DRT system on August 8, 2013.  Prior to our conversion to the Ecolane DRT, the PCTA was scheduling trips manually, providing our drivers with paper manifests, using two-way radios to communicate with our fleet and calculating and reporting data by hand.  Additionally, the PCTA administrative staff were unable to perform compliance checks on our service.  
Since our conversion to the Ecolane DRT, our transit agency is operating much more efficiently.  The system is very user friendly for all transit staff - from drivers, to dispatchers, schedulers, reservation staff, fleet manager and administrators.  All data is collected on driver tablets and provides the dispatch staff with real time positioning of the fleet.  Since all data is readily available and easy to view, the PCTA has incorporated monthly compliance checks on all trips performed by our transit agency.      

**What do you dislike about Ecolane?**

The Perry County Transportation Authority (PCTA) is still utilizing an older version of the Ecolane DRT.  Ecolane has added features to the system that will make the system even better.  We are patiently awaiting the upgrade.

**Recommendations to others considering Ecolane:**

We involved all of our staff in the process of setting parameters and we are all cross trained within the system functions.  Our employees embraced the Ecolane DRT and are still very pleased with the software.

**What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are reversing negative cash flow trends by using the Ecolane DRT.  We are no longer printing paper manifests for our drivers and having administrative staff manually inputting the data for reporting purposes.  We have been able to combine positions and reassign various job duties within our transit agency.  We have saved time by utilizing the tablets to send messages directly to our fleet in real time and to be able to reassign trips to other vehicles in the event that the driver is running behind schedule.  
The PCTA is performing a higher number of passenger trips monthly at a lower cost.  Our monthly fuel prices have been cut by 40% on average.  Additionally, administrative staff are able to utilize their time performing compliance checks and maintaining the daily operations.
