## Donut Reviews
  ### 1. Great for keeping in touch with colleagues when working remotely

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Donut?**

Working remotely has it's benefits, but one of the downsides is reduced cross team contact/collaboration. Donut randomly pairs you with a colleague every week for a catch-up. Love the integration with slack and calendars to suggest times. It holds you accountable

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

Sometimes you are matched with someone you speak to frequently and multiple times in a row.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting with colleagues you otherwise wouldn't catch-up with.

  ### 2. Great way to connect with coworkers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andra M. | Content Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Donut?**

Donut makes it easy to meet colleagues that you might not otherwise because they're in another department or your work doesn't overlap. You can select if there's anyone you don't want to be paired with, and the frequency. Donut has access to your calendar (Google in our case) so it's easy to book a chat at a time that works for everyone.

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

It can be hard to get people to buy into using Donut, which is no fault of the product just something that people tend to do. Maybe including some more exciting copy could help improve uptake.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've met a lot of coworkers that I wouldn't have really had occasion to speak with, either in-person or virtually, through Donut. I truly believe that it helps to build a sense of community and team building whether your team is remote, hybrid, or onsite.

  ### 3. Great functionality, crazy pricing

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert F. | Head of People, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Donut?**

Schedule was highly automated, and it took the work off my team and allowed mostly self service.

Good prompts and water cooler topics

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

THE PRICING

It basically priced itself out of the market. My last company ended up spending $15K+ a year, and although we had around 100 active users, it charges for the whole workspace (600). This pricing model has made me NOT implement it at my next company, despite the tool itself being solid. There is zero chance a company can support this kind of pricing when they looking at the softer side of employee engagement.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It did help employees from other teams to get to know each other.
The CEO and some of our leaders really liked it and personally completed many many donuts.

  ### 4. Creative way for fostering team connections

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Moaaz M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Donut?**

- The way it starts conversations.
- Fosters a sense of community. Leads to new ideas and collaborations that may not have occurred otherwise.

- Nobody voted :( [The selfie contest :D]

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

Dependence on Slack: Slack Donut relies on the Slack platform, which may not be suitable for teams who do not use Slack as their primary communication tool.

Privacy concerns: Slack Donut requires access to team member information, which may raise privacy concerns for some individuals.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While Slack Donut may not directly address business problems, it can positively impact team morale and contribute to an overall positive work culture. The tool provides a fun and easy way for team members to engage with each other, especially in remote work environments, where physical interactions are limited. The random pairings foster connections and promote a sense of community among team members, which can lead to improved collaboration, productivity, and job satisfaction.

  ### 5. Great way to meet colleagues!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Donut?**

It's a fun, automated way to set up meet and greets across departments and get to know team members. I love that I can opt out if the week is too busy, and, if no one has taken initiative, it will assign someone to book some time!

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

I wish that it had more prompting questions once we meet and could integrate with our rewards system.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me meet coworkers that work in other departments/locations.

  ### 6. Donut helps keep our 2 offices connected!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas S. | CSM, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Donut?**

I like the automated alerts that keep us engaged between offices

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

I don't necessarily want all the reminders if a meeting isn't initially set

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Donut helps our 2 offices with very different departments stay connected

  ### 7. Great tool for helping employees connect to their peers!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirkland G. | Learning & Development Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Donut?**

I love that it connects people across different departments. It allows our sales team, marketing team, and others to connect in ways they never would by just naturally scheduling meetings.

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

It's easy for some employees to disengage, which is fine. But it would be ideal if we could ensure that everyone was using the product.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have seen people connect! In a remote environment, that's difficult, and this tool allows them to do that.

  ### 8. Great for keeping in touch and scheduling time with your workmates.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Donut?**

The matchmaking seems to work well. I love the slack integration.

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

Notification options were a little bit confusing for me. I had a hard time opting out when I no longer wanted to participate for a set amount of time or be notified.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For our organization, it was a great addition to help keep in touch with coworkers during covid19.

  ### 9. such a cute and fun slack app to encourage team relationships and communication

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel U. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Donut?**

The app is easy to use as a slack installation and provides prompts to set up a meeting / interaction with another co-worker. The app also gives you summaries about how many pairs met and who initiated the conversation.

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

I dont have any real dislikes about the app/ service.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For remote employees - this is a great way to automatically / effortlessly set up interactions without any one team member needing to coordinate the task. This is especially great now that everyone is remote.

  ### 10. Donut is amazing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Donut?**

Donut is very cool! I like the way it can be the highlight of my day.

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

I do not dislike anything about Donut currently.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Donut as a way to get our teams together who might not always interact. We all work from home so it makes things fun.

  ### 11. Great way to stay engaged remotely

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** La Nise H. | SVP of Human Resources, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Donut?**

I love how easy it was to set up and go!

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

It was a little confusing trying to set up the lottery for my CEO, but when I reached out for help I was able to get what I needed.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building bonds and bringing people closer over coffee despite being remote.

  ### 12. Great tool, although a bit pricey

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio V. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Donut?**

Very easy to setup and integrate. Awesome addition to a remote team.

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

Very pricey for what it offers. If you have a small team of 30, you'll probably have to ditch it as it won't make sense to pay for the tool

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Team alignment in a remote environment
- Making new team members know each other

  ### 13. Simple and great tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Donut?**

The simple and easy way to know our collegues and different types of paring options. Its great how it automatically pairs teammates or colleagues to know about each other

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

Nothing specific to mention or point out as dislike. Just one small improvements can be made while showing time availability for scheduling meetings

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building team collaboration and friendly worklpace. Instead of messaging our collegues prior knowing them could be awkward at times, this app helps to mitigate this issues

  ### 14. Cant imagine being remote without it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Donut?**

It connects me randomly with other people at my organization every two weeks for a quick coffee and donut chat. Just a great way to meet people you would never normally interact with in your duties

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

Nothing - we use it simply for those meetings and its great

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being remote I only interact with my sales team. In an office I could intearct with everyone - so what donut does is connect me with those other awesome individuals at my organiation

  ### 15. Great app

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katya H. | Product Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Donut?**

We are small startup that is growing like crazy and are in the middle of a big hiring push. We have had a lot of emphasis on improving the communication on the team and part of that is making sure people know each other well. One of my coworkers suggested Donut as a solution and a nice reminder to talk to each other and take the time to meet and work with new people. Now we have it set up for every 2 weeks and it has been a great experience so far

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

I think it has been great overall. I wish you could exclude certain people from it - for example people that are on vacation or paternity leave but even without that it is still great and fun and has a nice follow up

**Recommendations to others considering Donut:**

Definitely worth getting

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem is making sure people talk to each out and meet each other and establish a relationship. We have been able to do that and thought it was a very nice and organic way without a lot of pressure. Loved using it and great experience for busy teams that might forget to spend the time to check on each other and talk for more than 2 min. Valuable additional as well for starting a conversation with upper management in a non-intimidating way. Would definitely recommend for growing teams that care about culture and communication

  ### 16. Great Simple, Useful Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Donut?**

The simplicity and ability to easily connect and integrate with slack. Its great to automate the team getting to know each other.

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

Not much to dislike, the pricing levels are too stark and the premium price can be much for what you get.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving for multi office/ remote employee connectivity. Really creates an organic way of encouraging employees to get to know one another creating a singular culture.

  ### 17. Donut Pairs well with Employees

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Donut?**

The Pairing options and integration with Slack..

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

Do not like paying more for the option to see the names of pairs. Though I did discover the great on boarding features from there.

**Recommendations to others considering Donut:**

Definitely great for a start up or other technology-based small business.

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Employees in a small business should not feel isolated. Donut allows us to match Slack users so that every single employee can meet one another and grab a cup of coffee (or tea...)

As a global company it is allowing us to build a culture around our people.

It also has some good on boarding tools for HR to use which is something we were previously missing. Nothing too Robust, so I don't recommend this as your only tool.

  ### 18. Work is better with Donut!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Gambling & Casinos | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Donut?**

Donut runs on it's on which allows us to set it up the system and let it do all the work. We are a small team so a system that required a lot of maintenance would not work for our team.

**What do you dislike about Donut?**

Since it's a low maintenance system, it does require you to be self-sufficient when it comes to setting it up. The helpdesk is really helpful though!

**What problems is Donut solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an HR professional Donut is a great add on to Slack. We are a small HR team, and Donut enables us to strengthen relationships across teams.
