I first started using Cobra when was v4.7 and now it is up to v8.5. The functionality of the system is excellent and allows you to monitor project performance easily. It also enables the ability to look at forward looking indicators such as tcpi's and has the functionality to do what if's etc by utliing it's cost classes and cost sets. **What do you dislike about Deltek Cobra?** My only complain regarding Cobra would still be the graphical outputs. The templates for reporting are basic but you can redesign the templates to your design, but I still believe that the graph reports look "old". However by using other Deltek products such as Winsigh and PM Compass and its dashboards; this can be overcome. **What problems is Deltek Cobra solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to be able to accuratly predict project cost is vital and by combining all the planning and cost info, this has enabled auseful outputs to be produced. ### 11. It helps organization with EIA-748 compliance on government contracts. There are other tools out there, particularly new entrants, but we've always run into issues when attempting to use them. **What do you dislike about Deltek Cobra?** It's straight forward to use and does the job well. **What problems is Deltek Cobra solving and how is that benefiting you?** Any company that needs to comply with EIA-748 should be using Deltek Cobra. It's by far the most mature product on the market and all the kinks were worked out long ago. There are some tools that have appeared more recently that we have evaluated, but we experienced too many issues with them. ### 12. I know there are some other tools, but none have the maturity of Deltek Cobra. **What do you dislike about Deltek Cobra?** The only real downsides are ensuring your team understands earned value management and how Deltek Cobra supports it. As part of this, training in Deltek Cobra is important. **What problems is Deltek Cobra solving and how is that benefiting you?** Compliance with EIA-748 is one of the key reasons companies use Deltek Cobra. But earned value management is also good project management so even if you don't need to comply with EIA-748, it's still the best tool for supporting good project management practices. ### 13.
