# What are the best Bookkeeping Services tools for bookkeepers needing a fast monthly close?

I'm researching Bookkeeping Services specifically through the lens of speeding up the monthly close, since that recurring crunch is often where a bookkeeping relationship either earns its keep or falls short. Within Bookkeeping Services, the reviewed pool here is genuinely small, most listed firms have one or two reviews despite bookkeeping being a huge real-world market, so I'd treat this as a starting point. Baker Tilly, Indinero, and Maxim Liberty are the names with enough review volume to speak to.

Baker Tilly: the most reviewed and highest rated firm in this pool, offering accounting and bookkeeping services with a track record on close timeliness.

Indinero: built around combining bookkeeping with financial reporting, aimed at giving growing companies a faster, more structured monthly close process.

Maxim Liberty: a smaller firm with strong ratings, worth a look for businesses wanting a more hands-on bookkeeping relationship.

Merritt Bookkeeping: focused specifically on small business bookkeeping with a straightforward, predictable monthly process.

AccountingDepartment.com: offers outsourced bookkeeping and accounting support aimed at businesses wanting close speed without hiring in house.

Given how thin the review data is here relative to how common bookkeeping outsourcing actually is, who's actually gotten your monthly close done fastest, and did speed come at the cost of accuracy anywhere?

Appreciate you flagging the thin review pool, since that shapes what the answer can be. On speed versus accuracy, the useful thing to ask a firm isn't how fast they close but how they handle the items that aren't clean, meaning unreconciled transactions and late vendor bills, because that's where both the speed and the errors come from. A firm that closes fast by booking estimates and a firm that closes fast by chasing documentation early produce very different books at year end.
