Datto Endpoint Backup's pricing is best suited for small to mid-market businesses, particularly those served by MSPs in IT services and computer security industries, which represent the dominant reviewer segments on G2. G2 reviewers consistently position Datto Endpoint Backup as the right fit for clients who need cloud-only endpoint backup without the cost or complexity of a full Datto BCDR appliance, such as remote workers, solopreneurs, and small offices with one or two critical devices. MSPs bundling it within Kaseya 365 get the strongest cost efficiency. It is less suited for enterprises requiring advanced recovery testing, continuous restore, or hybrid cloud-plus-onsite backup architectures.
According to G2's pricing data for Datto Endpoint Backup, no free tier or free trial is publicly listed. Datto Endpoint Backup operates on a custom-quote model, meaning prospective buyers must contact Datto or a Datto Partner for pricing. G2 reviewers note this lack of transparent, self-serve pricing as a friction point, with one reviewer explicitly stating that having to request pricing is discouraging during software research. Datto Endpoint Backup's pricing is available through MSP and Kaseya 365 bundle arrangements, so end users typically access it via a managed service provider rather than purchasing directly, making direct free-versus-paid tier comparisons unavailable through public channels.
G2 reviewers of Datto Endpoint Backup rate it highly, with the majority awarding 4.5 to 5 stars. Small business MSP reviewers consistently cite affordable, competitive pricing as a key advantage, particularly within the Kaseya 365 bundle, where access to multiple integrated tools at one low price helps MSPs compete on margin. Specific value callouts include no required hardware, automatic 2-hour cloud backups, and ransomware protection. Critical feedback centers on missing features like RMM alerting integration, no continuous restore, and no onsite NAS backup option, which some G2 reviewers feel limits value relative to full Datto BCDR. Overall, Datto Endpoint Backup pricing delivers strong value for lightweight endpoint backup needs but less so for complex enterprise recovery requirements.

I find the Datto Endpoint Backup solution very easy to use, especially the computer version of Datto Endpoint Backup for its simplicity and affordable cost. It offers up to 1.5 TB of Cloud storage, which is perfectly suitable for backing up critical data and software for users' operations. This solution requires no additional hardware, just choose the product that matches the needs of the environment. Another advantage is that backups are automatically added to the Cloud backup as long as the computer is connected to the internet. Moreover, it natively supports data retention, which is very effective for recovering a document accidentally deleted or in case of corruption. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find that sometimes the agent does not work properly, which forces me to set up alerts and continuously check the status of the backups. Although it is a good tool, the responsibility for the data remains in the hands of the client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
