## About Cycle
Cycle.io is a DevOps control plane for serious builders. We enable organizations to deploy, orchestrate, and manage workloads across on-prem bare metal, colocation, and public cloud environments from a unified interface. As a complete solution, Cycle simplifies infrastructure operations by providing automated provisioning, networking, and orchestration for both containers and virtual machines, without requiring teams to maintain complex set ups or third-party orchestration layers. Cycle.io is used by product first engineering teams who want the power and control of private infrastructure with the usability of the public cloud. The platform is designed for enterprises, SaaS providers, and service operators that need to standardize environments across regions, ensure data sovereignty, and reduce the operational overhead of managing multiple infrastructure stacks. Cycle’s architecture focuses on abstraction and automation. It integrates core components—compute, storage, and networking—into a single workflow that allows users to build scalable, multi-tenant environments. With built-in security and observability, Cycle helps teams align with compliance requirements while maintaining high performance and uptime. Key capabilities include: - Full infrastructure management: Create your own private cloud by provisioning compute resources in the cloud, on-prem, or both at the same time. - Unified orchestration: Deploy your same containers, virtual machines, and functions through one control plane, eliminating the need for separate management tools. - Global private networking: Create flat, Layer 3 networks that securely connect infrastructure across regions and providers. Built in load-balancers cover the routing. - Automated provisioning: Deploy new environments with repeatable templates, including integrated DNS, SSL, and image management. - Integrated CI/CD workflows: Connect repositories and pipelines for automated build and deployment processes. - Scalable storage management: Attach and manage block storage, SAN-backed LUNs, and persistent volumes directly within the platform. Organizations use Cycle.io to reduce infrastructure complexity, maintain compliance with data locality requirements, and accelerate application delivery across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. By combining the power of private infrastructure with the efficiency of cloud automation, Cycle helps teams standardize their infrastructure footprint while maintaining full ownership of their data and operations.

## Cycle Reviews
  ### 1. No more DevOps pain...

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Casey D. | Head of Engineering, Transportation/Trucking/Railroad, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

Cycle gives us what we need to run our app without extra fuss. Their support team is quick to help, making it easy to start using the platform. This helps our team work faster and get more done. Because Cycle is simpler to manage, we spend less time on upkeep and save money.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

While I appreciate Cycle's rapid innovation, sometimes the documentation lags a bit behind the latest updates. This occasional gap is a small trade-off for the platform's constant improvements. It would be great to see the docs keep pace with the new features.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cycle solved a big problem for our small startup. We couldn't afford a DevOps team, so our web developers had to manage our system setup. This was hard for them and caused issues. With Cycle, our engineers can now easily handle our system needs. We have fewer problems and save time.

  ### 2. Powerful when you need it, simple by default

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

The best orchestrator alternative to Kubernetes: an intuitive ui makes deploying and monitoring your services straight forward. Comes out of the box with "batteries included": console access, secure by default networking and powerful load balancing. Easily combine different cloud providers to be multicloud for your workloads. Excellent customer support with deep knowledge and an inherent mindset to make you successful.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

Cycle is evolving quickly which results in regular UI updates and feature additions requiring learning the new concepts.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Orchestrating container workloads across multiple clouds.

  ### 3. Cycle Makes the World Go Round

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas S. | Head of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

As a founder, one of the unspoken elephants in the room is cloud infrastructure - which provider, which region, routing tables, CIDR configs, the list and technical upkeep do not end. With Cycle, I was able to deploy services 10x faster with minimal experience in DevOps. This is truly a game-changer.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

I wished I would have found this product back in 2018 when I was first starting to build applications as a developer getting started in building platforms and also advising other ventures.

**Recommendations to others considering Cycle:**

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the venture capital industry, platforms are either outdated or only solve one problem in isolation. With Cycle, our engineering team was able to implement our executive leadership's vision effectively and efficiently. Three main benefits are:

- Simplicity: Cycle is an approachable admin panel for both experienced architects or first-time developers
- Flexibility: Cycle helps you deploy from an advantageous, abstracted view of the infrastructure world without having to become an expert
- Dependability: Cycle allows for quick instance deploys so I can focus on application layers where more customer value is created than VM volumes and CPU scaling

  ### 4. Unparalleled customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

The amount of incoming work we had before Cycle was a lot to manage. With Cycle, the whole team agreed that we’d be able to quickly set up our environments and onboard new clients - all the while migrating existing projects so that we had one place to manage everything.

Now things are more simple. On average, Cycle saves us about 10-20 hours per week with our managed projects, which is something we’re focused on growing. Every time we add a project to Cycle, we see that number increase. It translates to thousands of dollars in savings per month without even considering the cost impact of not needing a specialized engineer.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

At the end of the day, scaling a dev shop really comes down to how much value you can deliver on each project. With Cycle, that’s been a lot easier for us. With that said, their dev team is quick to help if any problems arise, so there are no negatives.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't need to worry about hiring specifically for DevOps or cloud skills. We can teach new developers containers pretty quickly, and the Cycle team is very hands on with helping which is a great resource.

  ### 5. Cycle is an "easy button."

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy S. | Account Manager/Paralegal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

Our team implemented Cycle near end of year in 2019, since then, we've referred to Cycle as the "easy button." -- Immediately after implementation, we saw a tremendous amount of value.

We were looking for something that could simplify and automate the DevOps side so our team could stay focused on building out our core. With Cycle, we saw a way to accomplish that goal quickly.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

I only have pros for Cycle. Using the platform means we can operate without hiring specialized DevOps engineers, which saves us so much time and money.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can easily deploy infrastructure, orchestrate our containers, and take advantage of modern container deployment strategies. We achieve this with far fewer error-prone configuration files or the need for specialized engineering hires that would have been necessary with other options.

  ### 6. Goodbye DevOps! I finally have time to write my code!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob S. | Junior Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

The day or night assistance with any configuration help or troubleshooting needs. They're always ready to help!

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

They're still in the process of adding some key features that will help us implement the systems were using on their platform. Looking forward to their release!

**Recommendations to others considering Cycle:**

Want to save hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on Dev Ops Engineers? Use Cycle!

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are syncing up our database, front end, and back end servers seamlessly, and allowing for changes made to be implemented at the click of a button!

  ### 7. Exceeded Expectations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael B. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

First and foremost, at Red Dot, we focus on data security. Cycle.io provides us with an industry-leading level of security and comfort that allows us to continue to scale operations without degradation in protection.

I never deviate from our secure, risk-averse strategy when it comes to protecting our data, which is a must in the healthcare space. I view Cycle.io as an enhancement to this strategy that has the added benefit of allowing a laser focus on core competencies, which takes a ton of pressure off our team. We can easily choose where and how to allow access to an application and, at the same time, eliminate the possibility of small oversights in configurations that could lead to security vulnerabilities.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

There is nothing to dislike. As our team continues to scale up, I can see that our partnership with Cycle is more than a means to an end; cycle is a vital part of our team and growth strategy.

**Recommendations to others considering Cycle:**

I highly suggest if you're looking to reduce cost and increase your control, consider cycle.io

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were expecting to hire two full-time DevOps engineers to facilitate the management of our growing portfolio of applications and hedge against the inherent technical debt of other solutions we had considered, such as Mesos and Kubernetes.

With Cycle, we were not only able to completely skip over hiring dedicated DevOps engineers, saving us ~$275,000 a year, but also bring our existing team fully up to speed within a week of use.

  ### 8. Amazing Support!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark Z. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

The technical expertise the Cycle staff offers is incredible. But where they truly shine is their customer service and support. It is second to none. Whether you are a small client or a large enterprise client, you feel like you are their only client. So impressed and would highly recommend them!

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

Honestly, I have been with them for over two years, and there is nothing I can say bad about Cycle. They are just a fantastic technology partner.

**Recommendations to others considering Cycle:**

If you want state-of-the-art technology and incredible support, Cycle is the perfect partner for your business.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a server that could handle our international traffic demands. Until we came on board with Cycle and their container technology, our website would often crash during peak periods. Cycle solved that.

  ### 9. Cycle eases entry to scale by saving you time and money.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua K. | Lead Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

Kubernetes solutions compete directly with Cycle. They both tackle the same space. So what is the difference?

The difference is time. Kubernetes is the kitchen sink. To get moving on it, one must dedicate a significant initial spend in time and money by climbing the steep learning curve or hiring an expensive FTE to handle the details.

This reality can be hard to swallow for a lean startup that wants to progress rapidly with deployments while ensuring that scale is there when the time comes.

Cycle presents an attractive alternative. If you know how to build a docker image and not much else, you have everything you need to begin deploying your production and stage environments. Their UI is slick and approachable. The API that powers it is well-documented for your scripted use if required. The feature set contains all the essentials for a startup to go from zero to scale without the need for a full-time operations specialist.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

As nicely designed as their UI is, the API itself appears to take precedence, so the web interface tends to trail it in features and bug fixes. Some enhancements to the real-time updating on the web console are needed.

**Recommendations to others considering Cycle:**

Understand your requirements and the next one or two years of scale objectives. Dive into the interface and run some test deploys. Run through the docs; they're thorough, concise, and short. It shouldn't take you more than a day to know if Cycle will meet your needs.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cycle has freed us from the huge spend a startup might otherwise take in deploying a stable and scaleable operational environment. We went from one full-time dedicated devops to just a few hours a month for our regular engineers.

  ### 10. Cycle.io saves us so much time in DevOps!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Narendran M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

Cycle has an amazing team that responds very quickly. It also makes cloud deployments and CI/CD very easy!

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

Image builds sometimes fail with minimal logs or error messages, but this is rare.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Cycle.io to manage all of ours and our portoflio companies' cloud infrastructure. We also use Cycle.io to automate our DevOps pipeline.

  ### 11. Cycle made my deployments and container orchestration very easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brent K. | Director of Information Technology, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

Cycle's web GUI makes it very easy to use and accessible when managing container orchestration. Their staff has been great with continuous development of new and requested features as well as troubleshooting any bugs that appear.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

I haven't run into many downsides, but if I had to nitpick a few there were some bugs early on with deploying our data to stateless services on AWS. Their team discovered this flaw and walked us through every step of the way to ensure all of our data was securely migrated onto stateful services.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Container orchestration which would have initially required a team of engineers, became a cinch for a small team like ours. Ever since its initial setup, Cycle's services run tirelessly in the background and I have not needed to spend any significant amount of time hands on.

  ### 12. Containers are easy with Cycle!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

Cycle has tons of features for managing containers all accessible through a super slick and responsive portal UI. Build and deploy with a single click, automate backups just by providing a few shell commands. DNS, load balancing, VPNs, Let's Encrypt integration... The list goes on and on.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

With all the features and configuration that Cycle offers, there is a learning curve. Luckily their support is super responsive and knowledgeable. So far, all of our issues have been resolved within a day. Often problems are resolved in a few minutes.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cycle saves us time by providing flexible container management. We're able to set up our containers just by filling out a few inputs, then maintain them with only a few button clicks.

  ### 13. Painless container orchestration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan B. | Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

Cycle is a fantastic container management and deployment system built to do everything necessary for container deployment as painlessly as possible. It is a very well-designed system built for redundancy and stability.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

Cycle bills itself as a premium service, so it can be somewhat expensive, but as Cycle is one of the best solutions on the market, we have found it to be well worth the money.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cycle is a fantastic way to manage container orchestration and save time, effort, and money while turning developed software into scalably deployed solutions.

  ### 14. Went from demo to full production at scale in record time!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

The team not only streamlined our go-to-market deployment for our SAAS platform, they also went above and beyond to make sure all of our tech could be housed in a consistant, highly scalable environment. We even had a few hiccups on our end they immediately responded to and resolved. It's like having the team I had in working as technical consultant in the Fortune 500, but as a bolt-on, grow with us model. Easily saved mid-five figures on devops!

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

Only thing id recommend is more recommendations on vendors! All recommendations so far have been extremely helpful.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Launching and deploying a SAAS in a very competitive, over-funded competitive landscape. We are outpacing the competition and getting features and functions to market far faster, with far better uptime.

  ### 15. Excellent product, great service and everything you need for dev ops!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon G. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

Cycle provides an excellent solution for dev ops with multiple environments and clients.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

Onboarding can be a little challenging, but their support is outstanding and, once you understand the tools, everything is seamless.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cycle provides us with the tools to manage multiple environments for multiple clients. It allows us to quickly scale and is agile enough to handle quick updates.

  ### 16. Cycle makes everything else feel like a pain

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derek T. | Chief Architect & Head of ML/AI Strategy, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

Cycle wraps all the painful pieces of container orchestration in a friendly UI and API. Deployments take a fraction of the time compared to the alternatives.

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

It's a great product and a great team; I cannot point to a single dislike. The team quickly and effectively addresses any issues we have had.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Server provisioning, networking, CI/CD, DB hosting, website hosting, application deployments. Other products are painful to use after using Cycle.

  ### 17. Cycle handles the heavy lifting, so our developers can keep focus on our mission.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean B. | Chief Product Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Cycle?**

The Cycle team is highly responsive and supportive, helping with new features and providing capabilities we need in time for when we need it!

**What do you dislike about Cycle?**

Nothing to dislike, Cycle's excellent to work with, and I highly recommend their solution.

**What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cycle's a key technology partner for Stratum Cloud.
