From an IT and administration perspective, it’s useful to have a platform where teams can run compute-heavy workloads without having to spend as much time managing the underlying infrastructure. It runs on stranded energy—like gas that usually just gets burned off for nothing. So you can train massive AI models without feeling so guilty about destroying the environment! Also, getting access to top GPUs like H100s and A100s is much easier and cheaper than fighting for them on the big clouds. The InfiniBand networking they use is very fast too, so training on multiple GPUs scales up really well without lagging. **What do you dislike about Crusoe.AI?** The main thing I dislike is they don't have as much GPU variety as the big clouds. If you need specific hardware like H200s, it can be really hard to find in stock. Also, their integrations are not very mature yet. You mostly have to build your own monitoring tools because it doesn't connect easily out of the box to popular frameworks like Ray. It makes the setup process much more technical. Performance is great on a single node, but if you're scaling up to multi-node training, it sometimes lags a little bit behind standard NVIDIA setups because of their custom architecture. And their data centers are only in a few geographic locations right now, which can be annoying! **What problems is Crusoe.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem they are solving is the crazy high energy demand and environmental damage from training huge AI models. Normal data centers use so much electricity! Crusoe fixes this by powering their infrastructure with stranded energy—like wasted natural gas flares that would normally just burn into the atmosphere. For me, the biggest benefit is that it makes high-end compute way cheaper and easier to get. Big cloud providers charge a lot, but Crusoe gives me access to fast GPUs with strong RDMA networking for a fraction of the cost. Besides the eco-friendly side, their GPU cloud infrastructure is actually super solid and reliable. We get fast access to powerful GPUs like H100s without the insane wait times or massive premium prices you usually see with the legacy cloud giants. **What do you dislike about Crusoe.AI?** the main downside is that their documentation and onboarding process can feel a bit barebones compared to huge mainstream platforms like AWS or Google Cloude. if you run into a weird setup errors you sometimes have to wait on customer support instead of just googling a quick community fix since it's a smaller niche network. Also their dashboard UI is pretty basic and lacks some of the automated cost-tracking or analytics tools that larger teams need to monitor spending efficiently. **What problems is Crusoe.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem it solves for us is the crazy high cost and low availability of top-tier GPUs on mainstreams clouds. Whenever we try to spin up heavy AI model training instances on AWS or GCP, we always hit resource limits or get hit with insane pricing. It adapts to what I am doing, which helps me to kick start easily without long Q&A sessions. Simple prompts are enough to get started, which I find very efficient. **What do you dislike about Crusoe.AI?** I find that it sometimes writes a lot of unnecessary code. It needs to understand my style of coding, recommend improvements, and then make changes.
