Customer support has also been amazingly helpful, even though I've only needed support twice, and both only because of weird situations on my side. **What do you dislike about 8am CPACharge?** The per-transaction fee is slightly higher than all of the other merchant service providers I looked at but this really adds up. Also, the passthrough fees from the card issuers make it difficult to predict the actual monthly invoice amount and none of the other merchant services providers I looked at have this additional fee making CPACharge even more expensive than other providers. **What problems is 8am CPACharge solving and how is that benefiting you?** Reconciling deposits to invoices is easy, and the several options available for clients to submit payment make it much easier for them to pay quickly. ### 2. We don't use it as much since you still have to initiate the payment on the computer. It would also be more helpful if the card reader automatically charged the credit card fee when it recognizes that one is being used, rather than us having to manually add a processing fee when initiating the charge. **What problems is 8am CPACharge solving and how is that benefiting you?** CPACharge has solved a lot of problems as well as added a lot of value and visibility. We wanted a solution that would allow us to process ACH payments, not just credit cards. We also wanted to be able to pass along a credit card processing fee to clients who chose to pay by credit card. Lastly, we were dealing with extremely high merchant fees and it was nearly impossible to get any kind of reports from our previous merchant on what these fees stemmed from. ### 6. There are also many additional features that our previous online merchants didn't provide. I personally found implementation of the software to be a very short learning curve. Initial access and signing in was very easy. We use this software every day and I frequently throughout the day log in to check for client invoices that have been paid, and if paid by check I can just click the "paid" option and everyone can see what has an hasn't been paid and which clients needs to have a reminder sent. And it can be intergrated with quickbooks **What do you dislike about 8am CPACharge?** Since a recent update, they change around a particular option that was orginally accessed from the menu on the left side of the screen and is now a sub-menu item. One of the calls I made as noted in the "What do you like box". **What problems is 8am CPACharge solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can't say it's solving any "problems" that our old merchants couldn't address, but I do prefer the interface as it's looks much cleaner. ### 30. Cost effective method for accepting payments from clients both online and in person It is very adaptable as we change how we do business. The fact that it integrates with so many tools makes it a valuable addition to our technology stack in the firm. I appreciate how they deposit the full amount charge to the client and bill me the fees later. That makes reconciliation much easier. Many of the competitors give you a net deposit instead which is challenging to break down. **What do you dislike about 8am CPACharge?** I wish they had a hardware terminal to use instead of just the website. We have swipers that connect to the computer via USB, but a dedicated hardware terminal would look more professional. Plus there is no way to take chip cards or NFC based payments which is becoming more and more common than it was before. Even if the terminal was still connected to the computer, being able to do more than just swipe the card would really help. Given the extra security chip cards or NFC based payments provide, I would think they would want to find ways for us to be able to use them and reduce fraud and chargebacks, but I have not been able to figure out a way to make that happen **What problems is 8am CPACharge solving and how is that benefiting you?** CPACharge fixes the problem we had around accepting card and ACH payments (or really anything other than cash and checks) from clients in cost and time-effective fashion. The fact that it integrates with other tools we use is a definite plus. Also being able to charge recurring clients automatically instead of forcing someone on the admin staff to charge the client's payment method has been a real efficiency boost. This has also reduced accounts receivable and shortened the cash flow cycle which I really appreciate as a small business owner. ### 31. They allow me to set up recurring payments from clients that I can set and forget. It really helps me not stress out about whether or not I'll get paid. Their website is super easy to use, and there are a TON of reporting options. I know my clients' info is secure and safe. I also love that they offer Affirm, as that is a very popular payment option with my tax clients. I've only had to contact Customer Support once, and they were extremely helpful! **What do you dislike about 8am CPACharge?** My one and only complaint is that you cannot directly set up a recurring payment from the Card Vault after your client inputs their card information. You have to charge the card manually once, THEN you can set up a Schedule for recurring automatic payments. This is inconvenient because I have existing clients that want to switch to Auto-Pay that put in their card info, and I have to set a reminder to charge them the next month so I can set up their recurring payments. **What problems is 8am CPACharge solving and how is that benefiting you?** I do accept Quickbooks Payments, but it does not have Affirm OR the ability to set up auto-pay. CPACharge solved those problems for me! I no longer have to stress about whether or not I'll get paid because clients forget...I can set them up on Auto-Pay! ### 32. Them having the ability to follow the link to our payment site and us not having to be in office to take their payment has made a world of a difference. Switching over to this processor was one of the easiest switches we ever made. They had a short walk through with me and if I ever have any questions, I know they are super easy to get in contact with. **What do you dislike about 8am CPACharge?** Honestly, I haven't had any down sides to it. **What problems is 8am CPACharge solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has made it so we don't have to be in office for our clients to make their payment. We can send them a link with a predetermined bill if they would like to pay their full amount or they can follow the main link and make payments as they see fit. Also offering the automated payment plans has made it so we don't have to remember everybody who we need to process on a regular basis. ### 33. Also, with being able to link the payments as a pay now on an invoice within our portal system and it being recorded into our system. **What do you dislike about 8am CPACharge?** The only enhancement would be that when a client does pay through the software portal, the pay now would be removed as an option to indicate payment made. I don't believe that this is a CPACharge issue, more the other software issue. **What problems is 8am CPACharge solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time-saving when inputting client payments into the client billing system. Being able set-up recurring payments for clients and not having to ask the client for additional information. ### 35. It is a great way to bill and get paid quickly. I can also quickly review who has paid and send out reminder bills. It really speeds up the billing and payment process. Their customer support is great. When a payment does not process correctly they can always tell me why. I contact my customer and they correct the payment error. When I transitioned to my home/office I took on my billings. I had no trouble implementing the system and setting up billing for my clients. I use this program for all of my billings. **What do you dislike about 8am CPACharge?** My biggest negative was the time it took to process payments from bank accounts. But CPA Charge has changed that feature and payments now process the same as credit cards with two day credits to my bank account. **What problems is 8am CPACharge solving and how is that benefiting you?** Timely billing and timely customer payment! ### 36. Their tracking solutions are very reliable when trying to find out history on charges. I also like that their customer service is top notch, they go out of their way to make sure you are questions are fully answered. **What do you dislike about 8am CPACharge?** Least helpful is that it is too expensive to add the feature for putting charges of $10,000 or more though. If we were easily able to charge up to $30,000 with EFT that would be ideal. Also we wish this was connected to a proposal or engagement letter process. We are having trouble keeping up with all that we have to do for our business and are looking for a payment processor that is connected to our engagement letter process. **What problems is 8am CPACharge solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is great to be able to take online payments, we wouldn't be an effective business without that.
