## About Costory
Dashboards got cheap. Context didn't. Ask Claude "why did our AWS bill go up last week?" without Costory and you get 15 plausible answers. Ask it through Costory's MCP endpoint and you get one: the deploy, the team, the service, the baseline. That is the difference between a pipe to billing data and a context layer. Costory is the operator layer that normalizes spend across AWS, GCP, Azure, Datadog, OpenAI, and Anthropic, allocates it to teams, correlates it with deploys and incidents, and exposes it to your AI assistants and the tools your team already uses. Core capabilities: AI-generated Virtual Dimensions allocate spend to teams, products, and clients from day 1, without code changes or tag debt Event-correlated attribution links cost changes to deploys, incidents, and infrastructure events automatically MCP endpoint makes cost data queryable by Cursor, Claude, and Dust so your AI assistant becomes a FinOps expert Automated Slack digests (daily, weekly, monthly) delivered to each engineering team: what changed, why, and what to do next Unit economics, anomaly detection, 2 years of cost history, and integrations with Jira, Linear, Backstage, Datadog Pricing (flat, no percentage of cloud spend): Copilot: €250/month, up to €10M annual spend Copilot Pro: €1,000/month, up to €20M annual spend, hourly granularity, budget management, SAML and RBAC 14-day free trial. Setup in 30 minutes. No FinOps team required.

## Costory Reviews
 ### 1. Intuitive FinOps solution with unified multi-cloud visibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David R. | Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Costory?**

Costory is an intuitive solution that has allowed us to effectively manage our cloud expenses without needing extensive FinOps knowledge. The platform integrates smoothly with major cloud providers, and we've been able to add our own business metrics to better understand how costs relate to our actual business outcomes. By linking several providers, we've brought all our cost data together in one place, which gives us a comprehensive view of our entire infrastructure. What truly distinguishes Costory is the team's responsiveness. They are very open to feedback and consistently evolve the product to meet customer needs.

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

As a developing solution, Costory is advancing quickly, but this rapid evolution brings some compromises. Some features are still in the process of maturing and might not yet offer the depth found in more established platforms. The AI-powered functionalities are promising, though they are still undergoing refinement and will likely require additional iterations before they can become genuinely transformative.

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Costory has been instrumental in allowing me to monitor our infrastructure expenses and quickly identify any unexpected changes. It also supports me in effectively communicating the evolution of costs within my company.

 ### 2. Costory Makes Cloud Tagging and Budgeting Effortless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael L. | Google Cloud Product Owner and FinOps, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Costory?**

Costory reduces the toil of tagging cloud resources. Thanks to the "Virtual Dimension," it lets you apply tags and categorize resources retroactively and on the fly. Once everything is tagged correctly, you can see all of your team’s charges and set budgets for each of them.

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

It’s a young product and some features are still missing, but the Costory Team is actively working on it.

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves us a lot of time by showing the right charges for all our cloud resources. Resource tagging used to be a recurring chore, and the teams didn’t always have time to update tags or define them properly.

 ### 3. From "How much do we pay" to "How much each team is investing, in each tool", and why, at a glance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Houssame Y. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Costory?**

The application ease of use and its ability to present you a synthesis the information you need is really nice, as it can be used by different people in different teams of the company (managers, C-level, procurement teams).

I loved the ability to "dig" into all the financial data and explore to discover the uses of third-party tooling.
I also loved the ability to identify part of the financial data to link it to certain use-cases in the company, thus helping quantify the amounts spent for these use-cases, precisely.

Receiving, on Slack, regular, beautiful and simple reports about our spending is also a great feature. It allow for a passive monitoring and help identify, at a glance, small issues with the last days spending.

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

The "exploration" part of the tool can look dreadful. It just take some time and dedication to know how to work with it.
After that, the ability to create "views" of each and every exploration kicks in and make the experience much more pleasant.

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing each team to know how much it spends in each of its tools, or part of the tools, and helps making sense of each sending.

 ### 4. Energetic and Innovative FinOps Partner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Geoffrey B. | Lead Cloud Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Costory?**

I am very pleased with the service provided by Costory, an early-stage French startup focused on FinOps and events correlation. The team is extremely reactive and reliable, always quick to respond and support. They bring a lot of fresh ideas, creativity, and energy, which makes collaboration both smooth and inspiring. Their enthusiasm and proactivity make them a very promising partner in this space.

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

There’s honestly nothing major to dislike at this stage. If anything, being an early-stage company means some features are still evolving, but that’s also part of the excitement of working with such an innovative and fast-moving team.

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Costory helps us make sense of the complexity around cloud spend and infrastructure events. FinOps can quickly become overwhelming, especially when costs spike without clear visibility into what triggered them. Costory’s event correlation capability allows us to connect infrastructure changes, deployments, or incidents directly with their cost impact.
This saves us a lot of time and removes the guesswork in identifying the root causes of cost fluctuations. Instead of digging through logs and invoices separately, we get actionable insights in context. It helps us control costs more effectively, anticipate issues before they become expensive, and improve collaboration between technical and financial teams. Ultimately, it makes cloud cost management more proactive, transparent, and efficient.

 ### 5. Costory helps us take full control of our cloud budgets

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabrice G. | Site Reliability Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Costory?**

Costory is an extremely practical tool in our fintech journey to better control cloud budgets and detect early drifts caused by unexpected component overconsumption. The product is evolving quickly, with new features being released regularly — it clearly has a lot of potential. On top of that, the team behind it is great to work with: responsive, knowledgeable, and truly customer-driven. I highly recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

The interface can be a bit complex at first and doesn’t fully reflect how powerful the product actually is. However, it seems the team is already working on improving this aspect, which is reassuring.

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Costory allows us to break down and allocate our cloud costs across different internal teams, making it much easier to monitor, manage, and communicate budgets. The alerting/report helps us react quickly to unwanted cost events or drifts, which has significantly improved our financial visibility and operational control.

 ### 6. Powerful Cloud Spend Insights with Exceptional Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Costory?**

Costory is a very powerful solution, allowing you to integrate multiple data sources, get a comprehensive overview of your cloud spend, build reports classifying your expenditure by product or team, and provide AI-powered digests identifying trends and unexpected cost spikes. The team at Costory are incredibly responsive and helpful too.

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

There is not much to dislike about Costory, really. As it is a new product from a startup, parts of the system aren't fleshed out as much as they could be, but the platform is rapidly evolving to address that.

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gaining better insight into our cloud spend.

 ### 7. Great experience exploring and understanding costs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas L. | Head of infrastructure, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Costory?**

Costory makes our cost management much easier. It gives a clear, unified view across all our data sources and helps us quickly understand where our costs come from. The team is very responsive and open to feedback, which makes the experience smooth and collaborative.

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

It’s still an early-stage product, so there’s room to grow — especially around the AI/digest features.
Some UI details (like colors and graph interactions) could be refined, but the overall navigation and performance are already excellent

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Costory is transforming how we manage cloud costs. It gives us instant clarity on spend, automatic insights we can act on, and a single source of truth shared across finance, procurement, and engineering. It saves time, boosts accountability with developers, and turns cloud cost management into a smooth, data-driven process

 ### 8. Easy to use to monitor cloud costs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Costory?**

Costory was very easy to implement to get the first insights. We have setup Azure and AWS connectors. The tool is very easy to use. The goal was to have a consolidated view on whats happening on our Clouds billing and be proactive. The other goal, shared between CTO and CFO was to follow the cost per environment/projects/client. The automatic digests are very useful and help to keep an eye on what is happening on our costs. I use it at least every week. To reach the customer support, we use Slack which is very convenient.

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

The product is still young but very promising. I expect to have more integrations in the future, for example I have asked for MongoDB.

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool consolidates the view between different clouds and saas tools.
Before Costory we were not able to split the costs by environments or projects

 ### 9. Costory is a must have when it comes to monitor costs and budgets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas M. | Site Reliability Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Costory?**

Costory has become an essential part of our routine for monitoring costs. The platform is user-friendly, with a fast and clear interface that makes navigation straightforward. The support team maintains a high standard and is always very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

Costory is still a relatively new product, but the team is clearly dedicated to introducing the features that are currently missing.

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of costs and managing budgets.

 ### 10. A new way to analyze, share and collaborate FinOps company wide

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Philippe D. | Chief Technology Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Costory?**

Digest view in order to save time and explain FinOps variation better

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

More feature to come in order to be fully complete.

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Explaining cost variations

 ### 11. Great product easy to integrate and reactive team that is open to feedback

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Costory?**

Easy to use
quick setup and easy integration with the different cloud providers
Reactive team and open to feedback/ suggestion to improve the product

**What do you dislike about Costory?**

Sometimes creating certain views can be a bit challenging and would need to enrich the ingested data with virtual tags/dimensions

**What problems is Costory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better visibility on cloud cost and an easier way to report out the cost variations to management
