It's fast. Large or linked spreadsheets won't slow it down as occurs in Excel. Generally easier to learn than Excel and provides more features than most users will ever need. Excellent import / export capabiliies. OLE linking works great to paste linked content into other programs. Cost is lower than Excel though it's hard to compete with Libre Office or Open Office as alternatives. Another advantage to Corel Quattro and Office is their documents are less likely to become corrupted if your computer or network becomes infected with malware. Because I frequently have to exchange spreadsheets with customers, I find Quattro can't readily replace Excel, but if I'm creating a spreadsheet for company use, or linking to another program, particularly another Corel program, Quattro Pro remains my default choice. Compared with Excel, the general user base is small. For better or worse, the world revolves around Microsoft Office, and if you have to work with others outside your organization, you'll encounter issues when exchanging complex spreadsheets. Works best in conjunction with Excel in business environments, Not all programs that will export to a spreadsheet will respect Windows default settings. Programs that feature an "Export to Excel or XLS" option often don't work with Quattro Pro. The only other issue with Corel's office products is their collaberation tools aren't as strong as those in Microsoft Office or Google's office products. If collaberating and sharing documents is important there are better options. Still, I continue to use Corel Quattro Pro, and WordPerfect. As stand alone software, they can['t be beat.
