I also value the invoice approvals feature, which I use frequently because I'm on the internal approval path for a couple of different things. **What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?** The fact that we have to pay separately to unlock APIs for different module is the worst part of CMiC. It is easy to set up, the modules are thorough and well organized with some proper setup by your IT team. The features I liked best were the quickness in exporting data in order to examine and resolve issues. **What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?** The training docs we not useful when we implemented back in 2014. It took us a year to properly document document our processes and train our staff. The system, training cost by CMiC reps was very expensive as well. Annual support fees seems to increase each year. **What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Coming from a financial/accounting background with many years of experience with ERP systems, I found CMiC easy to use. The balance of the users outside of Accounting honestly struggled to grasp, and there was a large number of errors that users created that IT and Accounting had to fix daily. ### 20. The are a lot of bugs still in the program which support is helpful but sometimes slow if the issue needs escalation. **Recommendations to others considering CMiC Platform:** Work together with CMiC while setting up the site to best suit your needs. Reach out to other similar industries that use CMiC to see what tools they use and how they set up and utilized. It is an organized program with many different reports.Allows you to maintain a customer database, keep a calendar, upload files all in one place. **What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?** There are always glitches. Our balances are always off because the system has a glitch and changes a number and then you spend hours trying to figure out why the balances are off. When you try to contact support they always tell you 'I have created a ticket for this item' or 'it is in programming' and if they fix anything, it takes months. They try to charge you for any little change you want in a report. We have one report that is always off because of a glitch in the system they can't fix so we have to use a different report but the other report doesn't have everything we need displayed on it. They said it would cost $4,000 to add two columns to a report. **Recommendations to others considering CMiC Platform:** I'm not aware of what other software is out there but if you're between CMIC and another program that does everything else CMIC does, I would go with the other program. The software allows you to enter whatever information you'd like and will highlight red if it is incorrect. Other programs will not let you input information due to the settings - but many times there are exceptions! **What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?** I dislike that quite often I will go through every line item needed and enter a value for the retention for example and when I refresh the page, the values entered do not save and are recalculated to the base 10% and I have to go and re enter the information all over again. **Recommendations to others considering CMiC Platform:** It's a good software that most will be able to catch on with ease. The rigidity also makes it difficult to integrate with other software. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and even Subcontract Management and Project Management are all done in CMiC. ### 36. It is great that everything is linked from meeting minutes to subcontracts. I also like that you can jump between multiple jobs at once. **What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?** I dislike how the software is not "smart" in the fact that if a firm is entered even slightly different by someone, then a new firm in CMIC is created. You can end up with 40 of the same architect! **What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** When I use CMIC, it is for project management needs. I use it for meeting minutes, RFI logs and submittal logs, as well as managing subcontracts on multiple projects at one time. It is not the most user intuitive software, and it could definitely be made easier to interface with. However, managing all of these project management needs in one program is a huge benefit I realized. From the alternatives my peers in the industry have used, I would say that CMIC is the most beneficial out there at this time. ### 37. Makes a nice template for sending out RFI, submittals and tracking transmittal. **What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?** You need java for it and it crashes very often on you.
