It's a very easy-to-use, intuitive program. From a VDC perspective, it has powerful uses for marketing/proposals. The team constantly makes improvements and allows users to have input into the process. I use this program for every single project I am involved in. CMbuilder is great for multiple reasons:

- Great for communicating ideas for everyone involved.

- Continuously being developed and improved with features you can ask for.

- Support from the team is clear and responsive.

- Easy to use and learn from the get go, fun to experiment with.

- Takes markups to the next level by being clear and in 3D.

- A wide range of resources and features you can add to make your site more detailed or come to life.

- Implements well with DroneDeploy, Revit models look good and work well.

- Mocking something up for a workshop is great for everyone to look at and consider things not thought about before with a 2D Markup, also good to snapshot images for site engineers to show workers, travel routes for truck drivers to deliver materials, for shareholders and owners to comprehend easier among many other use cases. There are some improvements that can be made to CMBuilder:

- Fair warning to anyone with poor internet or hardware, it may not function as well (CMBuilder is online so internet is required with good speed, the more you add the more pressure it applies to your PC, so make sure you have a good work laptop).

- Most features people would like are currently being worked on, (eg. multiple people working on one project, animation, visual change, etc.) these features are complicated to create, so please give them some time.

- The higher the tier for subscription, the more you will get out of the program. One of the most vital features (requesting resources in a quick turnover time) is locked to the highest subscription, which might be difficult for some people/companies to pay for as it can be a bit pricey if you want this subscription plus more project space. It’s very easy to use and brings real added value during presentations with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders. One of its biggest strengths is how quickly we can update the site logistics plan and communicate those changes live during a meeting. cmBuilder.io already provides strong value for creating visual documentation and communicating site logistics clearly. Since we still need to produce 2D documents for project documentation, I see an opportunity to make this workflow even stronger. More options for image exports, layout customization, file naming, and presentation outputs would make it easier to build professional documentation packages directly from cmBuilder. Presentation Mode is also a useful feature, and with some refinement to make it cleaner and more flexible, it could become an even stronger tool for preparing and sharing project information. I use cmBuilder.io to help with the construction phase of multi-room projects because it allows me to visualize the job as a whole. I like its quick usage once I have a general understanding of what it offers. I believe the animation of resources can be improved. I'm glad I've been able to get my head around how it works, but it is overly complicated to use. It could be simplified down, as it's a lot to take in due to the amount of different commands you need to put in to get the resources to do what you need it to do. cmBuilder is an extremely good medium to communicate what is happening when on site to anyone. I have used it in precontract tender planning and sequencing, traffic management and logistical plans, and for construction planning and space proofing.

My favourite use to date was to use cmBuilder as a communication tool to demonstrate to our client and the city council the progressive opening of a public river walkway which is a part of our project.

The user interface is well thought out and very intuitive to use, I have gotten many Project Engineers and Site Managers started in cmBuilder who had very little BIM experience prior, and they are all loving the tool and especially the resource library.

Finally, the cmBuilder Team, I have not received the same level of support and communication from any other software vendor. cmBuilder is a phenomenal tool, supported by an even better team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In the interests of being completely honest and transparent, there are times where I am on a slow network and cmBuilder has a bit of lag, that is not their fault at all, it is just an occasional frustration. CM Builder enables us to plan projects efficiently in collaboration with both owners and subcontractors. The days of relying on 2D site utilization plans—which often led to confusing markups and overlooked important details—are behind us. With 3D capabilities, we can now highlight and address key components that might otherwise be missed. cmBuilder.io makes it easy to visualize complex construction logistics in 3D. I like how quickly I can create crane layouts, hoarding, access roads, and phasing sequences. Sometimes the loading speed is slow for large models. It would be better if object snapping and alignment tools were more precise, like in BIM software.
