## CloudLIMS Pricing FAQs

Generated using AI

Is CloudLIMS free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, CloudLIMS does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

How much does CloudLIMS cost in 2026?

According to G2 data, CloudLIMS pricing in 2026 starts at $42.00 and can reach $310.00 depending on the selected plan. Pricing may vary based on billing terms or usage, so users should review the CloudLIMS.com's official pricing page for the most current details.

Who is CloudLIMS pricing best suited for?

CloudLIMS's pricing is best suited for small businesses and mid-market labs that need a full-featured LIMS without enterprise-scale IT budgets. G2 reviewers span pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, clinical diagnostics, environmental services, cannabis testing, biobanks, and higher education — predominantly small businesses with 50 or fewer employees. The per-user pricing model, which scales from $310/month for 3 users down to $42/month for 100 users, rewards growing teams. Biobanks managing tens of thousands of samples, third-party cannabis and analytical testing labs requiring regulatory reporting, and clinical labs needing HIPAA-compliant workflows are the segments G2 reviewers most frequently represent. Enterprise buyers appear occasionally but are not the primary audience reflected in CloudLIMS's G2 review base.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of CloudLIMS?

CloudLIMS does not offer a fully free paid-equivalent tier, but G2 reviews reference a FreeLIMS version with meaningful limitations. A G2 reviewer notes FreeLIMS imposes caps on inventory items, process steps, and customization options, and that support responsiveness is reduced compared to paid plans. Another reviewer flags that FreeLIMS can restrict consistent database access. CloudLIMS's paid tiers, starting at $310/month for 3 users billed annually, unlock full customization, priority support, instrument integrations, CoA generation, client portals, METRC and QuickBooks connectivity, and compliance features including HIPAA and ISO 15189 support — capabilities G2 reviewers across cannabis, clinical, and biobank segments identify as operationally essential.

Is CloudLIMS considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers consistently describe CloudLIMS as competitively priced relative to its feature depth. Multiple reviewers across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and research explicitly cite cost-effectiveness as a key differentiator, noting that competitors charge separately for CoA template setup, instrument integration, and staff training — fees CloudLIMS absorbs. A cannabis lab reviewer on G2 highlights that CloudLIMS is both cost-effective and feature-rich. Per-user costs drop sharply at scale, from $310/month for 3 users to $42/month for 100 users. One G2 reviewer flags that full CloudLIMS pricing may strain small academic labs, and another notes potential additional charges for extra services, so buyers should review contract terms carefully.

"Great experience with CloudLIMS, a solid partner"

5/5

What do you like best about CloudLIMS?

We are a commercial biobank operating a decentralized collection model, collecting biospecimens directly from patients at their residences. Our work spans a wide range of sample types, including blood, plasma, PBMCs, saliva, urine, and tissue, to support diverse clinical and translational studies. To manage these complex workflows and deliver high-quality, well-annotated samples to our clients, we sought a robust LIMS and, after evaluating several options, selected CloudLIMS.

Before CloudLIMS, we relied on spreadsheets and manual tools to handle client requests and sample processing. This approach quickly proved inefficient for managing aliquots, tracking storage, and generating client reports. Since implementing CloudLIMS in 2022, we now have an integrated system that addresses these needs effectively.

The CloudLIMS team worked closely with us to ensure a smooth implementation and tailored the system to our requirements, from managing client requests and processing samples to handling aliquots, storage, and shipments. Today, we manage over 60,000 storage units in CloudLIMS, and even with large volumes, the system performs reliably and loads quickly. Features such as the Quick View functionality make it easy to navigate our inventory.

CloudLIMS has also enhanced our reporting and search capabilities. We can now generate custom reports, export data seamlessly, and display thousands of records in search results—capabilities we lacked previously. Importantly, CloudLIMS configured the system to our needs at no additional cost and provided excellent support throughout the process.

Since adopting CloudLIMS, we have seen meaningful improvements, including reduced turnaround times, streamlined biospecimen lifecycle management, and fewer manual errors. CloudLIMS has become an essential part of our operations, and we are confident in recommending it to any biobank seeking a LIMS solution supported by a responsive and knowledgeable team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CloudLIMS?

One area for improvement is the initial learning curve that comes with transitioning from spreadsheets to a full LIMS platform. While expected, it does require some training and adjustment for staff to get fully comfortable. Additionally, although CloudLIMS performs reliably overall, searches and reports involving very large datasets can occasionally take a little longer to load, which is understandable given the volume of records being managed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CloudLIMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

As mentioned, since adopting CloudLIMS, we have seen meaningful improvements, including reduced turnaround times, streamlined biospecimen lifecycle management, and fewer manual errors. CloudLIMS has become an essential part of our operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive Crosslinking and Easy Exports, Though Web Performance Can Lag"

3.5/5

What do you like best about CloudLIMS?

It is very comprehensive, with a convenient way of crosslinking samples, subjects and data across different sources. Locating samples is straightforward and data can easily be retrieved in Excel or text format if needed for processing outside of CloudLIMS. It is a very comprehensive LIMS for the price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CloudLIMS?

Being a web based service, its speed depends on your internet speed and some parts of the website are complex to render so it can be slow. The learning curve can be a little steep for some users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CloudLIMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

CloudLIMS helps me manage my freezer and fridges which are complex systems storing many samples and reagents that would be very difficult to store and locate using simple Excel spreadsheets. A LIMS system is the answer to this problem and CloudLIMS is an excellent solution as a web based service I can access it from anywhere in the world where I have an internet connection.
