What do you like best about Claude?
For context:
I used Claude to make 2 custom plugins for Wordpress (coding and software). I used Sonnet 5.5 (G2's form only let me chose Sonnet 4.5).
Prior to Claude, I tried Copilot and ChatGPT to do the coding for me. Both proved frustrating and difficult, I had to manually implement multiple versions and test them out, which involved a tedious process of uploading the software, purging the site (which involved going as much as down to the server level), testing out the plugin on desktop and mobile, and reporting back issues to Copilot/ChatGPT, describing the issues, and following troubleshooting steps.
Then I found Claude, which seems to be particularly good at creating code. It was able to do exactly what I wanted with much less testing and trial and error. Claude is also more machine-like/objective than Copilot, so it skipped all the emotional fluff and got right to the next step, which was useful since it reduced the time to the goal.
Even on the free version, it was able to create 2 plugins for me. The plugins were image based game type plugins, essentially puzzles. Granted, they may be simple plugins that might take a developer a few days or week or two to create from scratch. But I am not a developer, so for Claude to create it for me and all I had to do was to implement it, this was a money saver.
I liked that the code is displayed right next to the conversation area. You can upload files for Claude to analyse.
For one of my plugins, Claude was able to create a script that integrated with H5P jigsaw puzzles, a pre-existing format that isn't even an officially adopted format but Claude wa able to assess, which was really great as it meant it didn't have to make this from scratch.
I like Claude's ability to think logically. Its thinking process is dispayed an you can see Claude going through the options and why it is considering them. This means, for coders and non-coders alike, you can give it a problem to solve, and it will break down the individual machine level steps needed to obtain that goal.
I also liked that Claude notifies you when it is done thinking - since it is coding, talking a little longer is not a problem. You have to allow notifications on your computer for this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Claude?
One thing I really dislike about Claude is the inability to change your email address once you sign up. Seriously, for an AI company that is supposed to excel in coding and technical analysis, you can't even make it so that users can change their email address? This is very annoying, especially if you lose access to your email address, because in order to log in, it forcibly sends you a log in link to your email address, so if you can't access your email, then you can't log in. This really, really needs to be fixed. For some email providers, logging in in a new location or even different device in the same location is a tedious process of verifying yourself with other methods JUST to get access to a log in code. This is too tedious. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
