**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Swapnil M. | IT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

The granular control that it provides over settings in the firewall menu help us a lot in controlling what applications people can and cannot use in the office network environment.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

The switches are very expensive, defeats the whole purpose of it being an accessible and affordable platform for small and medium businesses. If the business was big, we would move on to Cisco switches. So Meraki is the middle ground for us. We would like some better pricing options with some of the hardware.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The m ain network manageability issues that we were facing with cheaper Ubiquiti hardware have been solved by Meraki's MX85 at a little bit higher price but for much better service. We are still in the market for some managed switches though.

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

I make a bold claim, but since we had Cisco Meraki I have been excited about it. It works flawlessly within our systems and makes troubleshooting endlessly easier.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

I got nothing to dislike; it's a great UI and generally easy to use. It also has excellent documentation so if you can't work something out just check the documentation.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It greatly perfected our network performance issues. Our network was outdated but now with everything Cisco Meraki we can work out where the issues are and work on it.

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

Without a discount, the price point can be high, and the devices won't work without a support license

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing us with network solutions for our clients. Securing our client networks and creating solutions for wireless connectivity.

  ### 14. Good Management for Multiple Devices and Operating Systems

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

Allows management of multiple device types and operating systems and complete Android management in device-owner mode. Deployed multi-app Android kiosks to users to facilitate their duties. For other devices, it provides monitoring and other notable features with the SM Agent installed.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

Our Android multi-app kiosks were our primary focus when deployed, and while it worked well, a few features were missing: Viewing battery percentage and being able to toggle or view any settings (for example, a field user couldn't connect to another wireless network)

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Systems Manager allows another avenue for device management and asset tracking. It was our primary MDM solution for Android devices before moving to another platform. SM continues to be utilized for Apple devices and Windows computers.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

Determining whether the product meets compliance regulations like FIPS.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find it easier to use than traditional Cisco firewalls.

  ### 18. Cisco meraki wireless

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2022

We utilize Meraki for two major key functions, WFH with SD-WAN & Security. It has been a true breeze to configure devices, setup for users, and overall total managment.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

The cost is very high and continueing to climb. Its a great newer product but the skyrocketing proces are making it hard to conintue to use.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We started to solve our need for an MDM as well as out new WFH force. We have been able to esily manage devices such and company phones, laptops, and ipads. We have been able to simply setup wfh solutions and send people home in a flash. Meraki has been a dream come true for ease of use for all people.

On the expensive side and supply chain issues at the moment are awful.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee S. | IT Systems Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

We like being able to managed our whole network across multiple devices all in one place that can be managed from any location.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

We dislike not being able to assign a public ip address to a VLAN which we used to be able to do with our old hardware.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cisco Meraki is helping us secure our multiple networks and being able to control limits and restrictions on certain networks so users only have the resources that they need and no access to others they dont need.

  ### 23. very good experience

strong hold of telephony system which makes the life easier.

  ### 24. Perfect System for Remote Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

The ability to see a snapshot of all my locations and their associated networks, and then the ability to dive deep into the details of each. The analytics are an added bonus and easy to set up. Switching between locations is easy and ensures you're working in the right network.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

The initial setup was a little complicated but there are extensive help guides and the internal wizard helps with completing the process. The location hierarchy is limited and I would have liked to see something more robust in terms of zones and groups.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm remotely managing two networks since we recently went to two locations. I've connected the manager to DNA Spaces for more advanced analytics which provide great insight into both employees and visitors.

  ### 25. Very simple, yet lacks granularity still

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt P. | Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

Anyone can figure out the simplistic interface and accomplish what they need

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

lacks granularity that real pros thirst for. I want a feature set that allows me multiple methods to accomplish a task, meraki cant do so.
Feature set is no different than a mid 2000s ngfw has.
no independent security reviews either and in my pro opinion its because it doesnt have ssl inspection which if it did would bolster the IPS/AV services, and without is so terrible its not worth reviewing.

Bottom line if your a smaller SMB this is a solid option just be sure to do ssl inspection through another service even as simple as cisco umbrella DNS has ssl inspection.

beta beta beta everything runs beta that gets annoying, you cant be deploying products that require a feature but is in beta.

**Recommendations to others considering Cisco Meraki:**

make sure you dont soley rely on meraki's UTM services and augment it with other products. Umbrella has nice integrations and also does SSL inspection for instance.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

simplifying networks so much that it decreases labor costs and thus saves smaller customers money they can invest elsewhere.

  ### 26. Cisco Meraki is one of the greatest WLAN products on the market!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bobby V. | Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

Cisco Meraki has a very intuitive interface. It's broken in down into sections and every section has 'Monitoring' and 'Configure' settings. Meraki is alerting whenever there's a problem in the network and is often suggesting very useful resolution methods. It's getting insight from millions of Cisco TAC cases and utilizes AI to analyze issues.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

One thing that I'm missing in Meraki is the ability to download a specific device configuration and back it up. You can't create a snapshot of the network and just roll back the state from some time in the past.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently migrating to Cisco Meraki and replacing the hardware equipment in 7 offices across the world. Cisco Meraki offers a highly available network and very reliable Site-to-site VPN with our AWS infrastructure. The option to configure the network via a simple cloud dashboard and API makes it very easy for administration.

  ### 27. Meraki's Okay but RMA process is crooked, in my opinion

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bob S. | CFO

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

Single pane of glass is a real thing. Software works well.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

Usual Cisco RMA BS. Been waiting on a refund for 2 months.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wanted to move away from traditional Cisco infrastructure and CLI

  ### 28. Easy to use MDM solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

Detailed set up instructions, great support, compatible with most used devices, great UI layout, easy to use and understand.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

Configuring device policies can be confusing depending on the supported OS. Not all features are compatible with all OSes.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows for easy deployment of an MDM solution for small to medium businesses. Allows companies an easy way to protect their data on BYOD devices as well as distribute corporate applications.

  ### 29. Best way to manage Cloud Network devices

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MARNI S. | Network Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

3. SSID and access point configuration is simple through Meraki dashboard is simpler than direct device configuration.

1. Remote management of the branch devices through a central console.
2. It Does not require a technical person to go to the branch and install the device, reducing travel costs.
3. Monitoring network devices and their health.
4. Taking wireless clients' connectivity reports every week.

  ### 30. Scalable cloud managed networking.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

Simple management, easy for less experienced/trained admins to help. (Don't take that to mean you don't need to know what you're doing!) Still very capable and, in many ways, much easier to deploy.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

Reliance on cloud/internet for management is a huge downside. It's manageable, but when there's an outage, the last thing I want to do is be unable to access management dashboards for hardware.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote deployment. Remote management is possible via multiple methods traditionally, but this makes it easier than ever.
It's also simplified management at remote locations.

  ### 31. Good coverage with slight downsides

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

- cloud-based access controller

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

There's nothing to dislike about this product.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to provide a VPN tunnel for our users to the internal network and have a VPN tunnel to Azure configured. We are also using the firewall for security.

While you purchase the gear, it's effectively a lease. The gear itself is low end, perfectly fine for a small office, but not suited for enterprise or DC space.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We pretty much find it, and clients network and schedule it to be replaced. It gives you a nice single pane of glass interface.

  ### 48. Cisco Meraki. Manage network devices at one place using GUI interface

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darshan T. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

It has limited personalized configuaration functionalities. Any change implemented in network topology using dashboard can take upto 15 minutes to reflect in environment. Services are costly and It lacks some functions like port aggregation, FQDN and filter names by object. Technical customer support can be improved.

  ### 49. You get what you pay for

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris C. | Sr. IT Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Cisco Meraki?**

The price. Of all the MDM solutions out there, Meraki SM is by far the cheapest and if you have existing Meraki Networks its a great way to get off the ground with MacOS systems management. The Lock and Wipe features work very well, as do the network uptime and monitoring pieces.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Meraki?**

Application installs and upgrades are a crapshoot whether you are utilizing VPP or doing direct package installations. While profiles install pretty quickly and easily, app installations do not and often end up taking a considerable amount of manual intervention. They include a pretty nice reverse SSH tunnel implementation for doing remote desktop machines but this too is highly unreliable and I have already replaced that piece with another solution. The licensing model, while affordable, follows the typical Cisco 1-5 year subscription plan and is not that desirable for MDM.

**What problems is Cisco Meraki solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to track and lock our Apple Computers as needed.
