## Cisco Duo Reviews
  ### 1. Unmatched Security and Ease of Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo L. | Sr. HelpDesk Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

I like that Cisco Duo is easy to use and that its interface is very user-friendly. The Duo Push notification works instantly, which is very convenient, and if the notification doesn't appear, I just enter the app and it shows up. The initial setup was very easy. For all these reasons, I would give it a 10 in likelihood of recommending it to a friend or colleague.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

I like everything about Cisco Duo

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cisco Duo provides greater security when accessing and is easy to use with a user-friendly interface. Duo Push notification works instantly, making the process convenient without the need to manually search for codes.

  ### 2. Ultimate Peace of Mind for PC Security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rick J. | Testing Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

I really appreciate the peace of mind that comes from knowing my PC is secure whenever I lock it or shut it down. It’s reassuring to know that no one can log in while I’m away without me being notified. It was easy to install and I use it most every day.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

The only drawback I have encountered is that I can't accept the login notification on my Samsung watch unless my phone is unlocked.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duo addresses the security concerns of my end users, providing them with the reassurance that their computers are more secure.

  ### 3. Flexible MFA and Zero Trust, but pricing and legacy complexity can be tough

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

It offers strong, flexible MFA options, including push notifications, biometrics, and tokens. Deployment is straightforward, and the experience is intuitive for end users. It also supports Zero Trust principles by verifying every user and device before granting access. On top of that, it integrates well with cloud services and VPNs.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

It can be costly for smaller organizations, especially when budgets are tight. Some of the more advanced features may also require higher licensing tiers, which can limit access unless you upgrade. In addition, it can add extra complexity in environments that rely on legacy systems, making setup and ongoing management more challenging.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cisco Duo is a solid, user-friendly security solution centered on multi-factor authentication (MFA) and Zero Trust access controls. It strengthens login security, helps reduce the risk of compromised passwords, and fits well with today’s hybrid work environments.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jasher M. | IT Support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

I like the ability to get a push to your phone to accept or decline, which makes the multi-factor authentication process convenient. The MFA aspect is extremely important with security, and I found the initial setup of Cisco Duo to be extremely easy.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Sometimes the push notification does not come through, and I need to open the app itself to get that push.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Cisco Duo for MFA, enabling our users to securely connect to software with network rights. The push to phone feature simplifies the process by allowing us to accept or decline access easily.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

It is a reliable way to authenticate for website logins and a good authenticator code app at the same time.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

The main thing I dislike is having to type in 3 numbers that pop out on the screen into the duo app on mobile to authenticate.

The amazing security features, especially the multiple-factor authentication, helped users at my client site achieve stronger security.

It’s a bit costly and not very cost-effective for a small organization. Also, there are occasional delays when receiving push notifications, which can be frustrating at times.

It helped my client address a critical problem with unauthorized access to servers and network devices. It also helped us improve protection against phishing and login attacks.

Duo is part of the SSE and ZTNA bundle, but some users are expecting that the adaptive firewall security feature can run with Cisco DUO, then the most advanced tool can be helpful for cloud-based security.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cisco Duo addresses the problem of securing access to applications and data by implementing MFA and device trust verification. This benefits users by providing secure access, reducing the risk of unauthorized access, and enhancing overall security against cyber threats, especially phishing attacks. The key benefit is :

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Surendra T. | technical support engineer 2, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

Implementing Duo within our organization has really helped us become more confident about the security of accessing our data. A few of the many strengths of implementing Duo within our organization are as follows: Duo provides us with a detailed track record of employee's access to the assigned applications. Again, the Duo cloud-based architecture has allowed us to easily scale the solution to meet our growing security needs as per the requirements. Last but not least, Duo Multi-Factor Authentication capabilities have secured our organizations data from unauthorized access.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

While Duo has really helped us a lot in terms of providing a safeguard, however, we see there could be some areas of improvement such as enhancement in customization options. Again, we faced some challenges in integration with the legacy system which required additional support from the Cisco team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Spencer B. | Information Technology Support Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

The fact it allows users a second factor authentication method beside their own password

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

If your in a bad area with no service the Duo push will not be received making your log in stall out

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing users to have a second factor so we are not getting spoofed and hacked

  ### 13. Broad Multi-Factor and SSO

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin K. | Manager of Systems Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

Cisco Duo provides a secure app and Multi-Factor process for signing into workstations and applications. You can tie it into 365 with a Federated Domain and use SSO validated against an on-prem Active Directory server or if you have P1 Licensing against 365 its self. So Duo can be used for many purposes for Single Sign On helping you meet Insurance Companies and Compliance standards. You can also program Yubi Keys and hand those out to your users, this process is easy and pain free.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Duos learning curve can be steep when you are setting up more advanced tasks such as SSO against on-prem. Ensure you read and re-read the documentation as you setup the services and that you fully understand the process. Keep in mind if you use an AD server that server must be on for users to sign into 365. If not then it will not let them validate.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duo provides a way to meet compliance for Multi-Factor on endpoint sign in. It also provides a means to add SSO to 365 under Duo so the end users are all tied to the same account. Rather then them having a rolling code from Microsoft in MS Authentication or in Duo app. They can use the Duo Push method or tie it all into a Yubikey. So although the setup is a lot of work in the end it makes it easier on the end user. We deploy Duo to all our Fully Managed clients and have over 2000 endpoints utilizing the service so are pretty competent in its abilities.

  ### 14. Enhanced Security with Seamless MFA Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** vijaya k. | IT Support, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

I like Cisco Duo's MFA and device trust features because they improve security while being simple for users and easy for IT to manage. The initial setup is mostly straightforward and user-friendly, though integration with legacy systems may require extra effort.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Setup with legacy applications can be tricky, MFA prompts sometimes delay, and reporting could be more detailed for better visibility.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Cisco Duo to secure user accounts and devices with MFA, enforce device trust, and protect applications, reducing unauthorized access and improving security and compliance.

  ### 15. Secure Platform with Multi-Factor Authentication

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks through end-to-end verification and push notifications.

Unauthorized device access via health checks and endpoint trust

  ### 16. Easy to use and secure MFA

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven J. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

I love duo. The best feature is the DUO Push MFA. Some companies partner with duo. When they do this, you do not need a code. You can actually get a push notification and select yes and be authenticated at the touch of a button.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Sometimes software has trouble syncing up with their system and you need to close the app and then re-open it to get the correct code. The other issue that is a problem is when you opt for a text message code, they are 7 digits instead of 6 and they can be difficult to remember.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My industry has security regulations imposed by the government to keep my client’s data secure. We are required to use Multi factor authentication in everything we do. Duo is making this easy when it is not an easy task to do.

  ### 17. Effortless Dual Authentication with Seamless Notifications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erica C. | Microcredential Program Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

Automatication notifications that can be approved either on my phone or my apple watch, streamlining dual authentication

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

Its just one more app that you have to have. That's not really their fault, but it certainly adds to the digital clutter.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A simplified way to do multi-factor authentication that is easily usable on a variety of technologies (i.e. phone push, text, call, push to apple watch, etc). This makes it as easy as possible to complete the dual authentication and get to my work product faster

  ### 19. Highly Secure and User-Friendly with Flexible Authentication Options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

This product is highly secure and user-friendly. It offers several options for dual-factor authentication, making it both flexible and convenient to use.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

I have to admit, it's a bit frustrating that I can't approve a "safe device" for a specific period of time. I wish there were an option to confirm that my phone is secure for, say, the next five days, so I wouldn't need to go through authentication over and over. Still, I understand that's probably an important aspect of the security measures.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software safeguards my work documents and applications when I use them outside the VPN. It supports various remote work scenarios, whether I step away from my desk with my phone or work from home.

  ### 20. Duo Security- good MFA tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harish K. | System Administrator, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

Duo security is good security handy tool which provide you mfa for laptop user login and many other apps. Users have to enter the mfa code while login and in case of lost/stolen device, no one will be able to login the device, so your data will be secure. Simple looks and ease of portal option makes it easy to implement, integrate with other apps and manage.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

One main drawback of duo security is that your mobile phone should be with you at time of mfa, in case you forget phone at home or in case of stolen then there will be some husstle all day along. Also sometime lacking or hanging issue for SMS or passcode.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duo security is an good tool for mfa of laptop login and it very easy to integrate with other apps like aws, falcon antivirus etc. It reduces risk of data breaches and also it comes within reasonable price.

  ### 22. Best ,reliable 2 factor authentication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** arpit k. | technical account manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

i like most its user friendly Interface which is easy to manage and it sends an authentication notification as a popup on the mobile screen you don't need to go anywhere thats i like the most

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

sometimes its not sending popup notification so we have to open app manually and again thing which is not good is like we have 15 user in a server but we want to secure with duo only 3 user in that case we have to add all 15 user in a duo then add to them in a particular group that's very lengthy and hactic

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

its helps us to secure our system with unauthenticated access and its ensure that if someone have my password then he /she still not access my system,so i am very happy and safe with this

  ### 23. Easy to Use with Multiple Verification Options

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

It’s easy to use and offers several verification options.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

The only downside is that it relies on a phone for verification. What happens if my phone is broken or lost? Just a suggestion: maybe an email address could be added as an alternative verification option.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None so far.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

I don't enjoy using Cisco Duo because it's clunky. The UI/UX is clunky, and I find MFA to be an obstacle sometimes. **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahipal S. | Software Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Cisco Duo?**

It help us to secure the data by adding an addition authentication process where user need to approve the authentication by accepting notification or need to enter the passcode. It also supports multiple ways to provide authentication like SMS, Phone calls, biometrics. It is very fast, reliable and user-friendly. It verifies the user device heather and security posture of device like OS version, encryption and notify user if any of the condition not match. Best part of the duo is easy to integration with different environments and we can also use this as SSO platforms like OKTA and user can authenticate themselves even in SSO login. It protect against phishing, stolen passwords and unauthorized access and help organisations and user to protect the data. As it is ease of implementation to any device and it provides supports for iOS and android. As i frequently using this for authenticaton to login my corporate office device and access the resources.

**What do you dislike about Cisco Duo?**

As of my knowledge, I don't feel like Duo has any cons but sometime we face the application is down and authentication notification is delayed and due to this we need to manually enter the passcodes. Some users may feel privacy issue if they are using this application in their personal devices as it continuously checking the security constraints. And Maybe is more costlier than other MFA are available in market like Google authenticator, microsoft authenticator etc. as they are free to use.

**What problems is Cisco Duo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are mostly user for MFA to access any resources provided by our organisation to the users. It helps to protect data in cases of phishing because hackers need physical device access to bypass the 2 factor authentication.
