Head of IAM & Data Classification **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2018 **What do you like best about CIMCON Software?** The ease of usage of the COMCON EUC Insight tool and the ability to customize for our individualized workflows. **What do you dislike about CIMCON Software?** Nothing at the moment, appears to be a great control and addition to our risk framework **What problems is CIMCON Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are maturing the data classification program at our Bank by improving the request and approval processes of changes for critical EUC's that run the business as a byproduct of shadow IT performed by various lines of businesses accordingly. Risk reduction is realized since only authorized and approved changes to critical spreadsheets and databases are performed as well as full visibility and awareness to critical functions of the Bank that leverage the reports, etc. ### 2. The various modules are simple to learn - not so simple to master! CIMCON personnel have been extremely knowledgeable and responsive! **What do you dislike about CIMCON Software?** The various modules are simple to learn - not so simple to master! And the technology seems to be more complicated than usual to implement and properly configure. **Recommendations to others considering CIMCON Software:** We evaluated several products and CIMCON outperformed - by far! The sales & support personnel are extremely knowledgeable and responsive. Much like Microsoft Excel, the more you learn about the CIMCON products, the more it will be able to do for you! **What problems is CIMCON Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to review all aspects of files that impact our financials before our public filings! Like many companies, some of our files have many worksheets and many formulas. CIMCON products are going to allow us to review exceptions rather than spend time reviewing each cell or even each worksheet. This give management an even higher level of confidence prior to signing off! ### 3. Once the users are properly trained, the tool becomes essential to them and helps with audit requirements a lot. The Excel add-in is a convenient way of using the tool's functions without having to log into the web page. **What do you dislike about CIMCON Software?** It is an extra layer to maintain and troubleshoot and some tasks like changing folder structure may become cumbersome. Requires an application expert if processes for monitored files are not thought through thoroughly. **Recommendations to others considering CIMCON Software:** Plan directory structure, group and permission template structure well. Have an application subject matter expert to help other users and do not skip user training for anyone who would use the product. **What problems is CIMCON Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using Cimcon SOX XL to help with meeting audit requirements for EUCs - the tool helps with formalizing change approval process for files which is granular, allows for detailed logging of changes, ability to revert them if needed and more. ### 4. On larger spreadsheets the tool has a tendency to lag when running items such as Workbook Analysis, but I know this is due to the large amounts of data being analyzed. **Recommendations to others considering CIMCON Software:** This is a great tool that should be considered if you work with large amounts of workbooks. **What problems is CIMCON Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Prudential has been using this tool enterprise-wide. While it was first purchased to provide a benefit to Finance Model Affirmations, other parties in Prudential are using it for daily workbook analysis and documentation purposes. This tool has saved many users hours of work when considering the automation CIMCON Software provides. ### 5. CIMCON offers a suite of features (some we do t use, but I would like to) to improve efficiencies, automate analysis, etc. The teams are extremely responsive to customer requests, and provide a excellent customer service. **What do you dislike about CIMCON Software?** We have yet to encounter something we dislike. CIMCON is extremely responsive to requests. **What problems is CIMCON Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** CIMCON has helped us improve efficiencies and automate process that were extremely manual and prone to human error. The software has helped us to gain more confidence in our spreadsheets and mitigate numerous risks. ### 6. What I like about these tools is that we are able to use the XL-Risk to scan our network shares and generate inventory of all excel spreadsheets and databases used within the company and identify high, medium and low EUCs. This is properly formatted for ease of use. **What do you dislike about CIMCON Software?** There is nothing about this product that we dislike. The product does what we expect it to do. **Recommendations to others considering CIMCON Software:** This is a very good product to work with and we will recommend it to other potential customers if need be. **What problems is CIMCON Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to obtain the list of spreadsheets and databases used within the company. ### 7. Even the times when I have been demanding with time due to project timescales, they have always delivered and provided a great service. **What do you dislike about CIMCON Software?** When I first started working with CIMCON my account manager was based in the USA. This was inconvenient as I was UK based. However, after a short while they opened an office in London which made it a lot easier to do business. **Recommendations to others considering CIMCON Software:** Its a great company with great people working for it. All are friendly and helpful. **What problems is CIMCON Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use EUC Insight, which is our go to tool for managing EUDAs/EUC's. It allows us to stay in control of our End User Developed Applications as well as managing the risk associated with them. We use Discovery to locate our EUDAs, XL-Audit to validate them, and Change Management to control and monitor them. Having a global view of our EUDA population in EUC Insight allows us to affectively manage the risks while relieving the business of such tasks as reporting EUDA volumes and status on a monthly basis. ### 8. They were there every step of the way in the implementation and to this day they continue to provide exceptional service and expertise in EUC (End-User Computing Applications) risk management. **What do you dislike about CIMCON Software?** So far there is nothing that we don't like. **Recommendations to others considering CIMCON Software:** CIMCON was thoughtful and understanding of our business needs.
