# What's the best way to edit paragraphs and tables in Adobe Acrobat while keeping the layout intact?

I've been looking into the best way to edit paragraphs and tables in Adobe Acrobat while keeping the layout intact. Editing without the source file is one of the things people praise most, along with reorganising pages by dragging, rotating or deleting them and secure redaction. Going by G2 reviews, the approach that keeps layouts intact is using Acrobat for typos, small text changes and page work, and making long rewrites in the source document where it exists, since adding full paragraphs needs spacing set by hand and tables in documents like financial reports can shift.

In PDF editor work, edits seem to fall into three groups:

Typos, small changes and page order. Acrobat directly.

A new paragraph or two. Acrobat, with spacing checked afterwards.

Restructured tables or long rewrites. The source document, then export again.

That split plays to Acrobat's strength as the tool for finishing and correcting documents when the original isn't to hand.

Where do you draw the line between editing in Acrobat and going back to the source?

Typos and page order in Acrobat, bigger rewrites in the source file. That split has worked really well for our team.
