As someone who's definitely not tech-savvy, I was dreading having to figure out live streaming during COVID. We suddenly needed to broadcast content to multiple platforms at once. After trying a few options, Castr stood out as the most reliable and user-friendly choice. The interface is straightforawrd and intuitive. We were up and running quickly without getting lost in complicated settings. Best of all, I've been able to train my team so that now everyone in our section feels comfortable using it. No headaches, no dropped streams, just solid performance. The price is reasonable, especially compared to more complex alternatives that would have been overkill for us. The waiting for stream preview is sometimes just a black screen and that lag can be a little frustrating.

The pricing changes can be stressful, especially when we use the service only once a week or so.

I greatly value how Castr offers us the possibility of having multiple services under a single subscription plan, which means considerable savings and easier management of our resources. Additionally, Castr's performance has been exceptional, being an ideal solution for our clients who stream video over the web. One of the aspects I highlight the most is the ABR (Adaptive Bitrate) service, which optimizes bandwidth usage by adapting to the user's speed, thus ensuring a continuous and efficient viewing experience. I also facilitate the integration of HTML5 with restricted content control within WordPress, which expands the customization and control capabilities of my content. I don't like the video import system in Castr's video hosting. It would be convenient to be able to import from services like Dropbox, OneDrive, and Google Drive. Currently, direct import from Dropbox is in beta phase and has issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how straightforward it is to set up Castr. As a volunteer team with little to no technical skills, being able to configure our live streams with just a few clicks is invaluable. It used to be the exclusion of accepting multiple currencies for PPV events, but they have now resolved that. Earlier this year we moved to another streaming service, because the Euro currency was not accepted at the checkout for the customer paying for a PPV event. I use Castr because of the multistream and the services for receiving signals and converting them to communicate with other cities. I like the simplicity of the platform and its features. The setup through Castr is much faster than doing it on a personal server. I admire the agility, speed, and quality it provides. Since I switched to Castr, it has been an incredible experience. We use Castr every week to livestream our Sunday services, and it’s been a fantastic solution for our church. We love that Castr provides a stable, reliable stream with powerful features, at a competitive price. We’ve looked at other platforms, but none match what Castr offers for the value.

One of the things we appreciate most is how user-friendly Castr is. We started using it during COVID-19 when we had to learn how to livestream quickly—and Castr made that transition incredibly smooth. We were up and running in no time, and we’ve experienced almost zero stability issues since we began using it in 2020.

Recently, we even downgraded our subscription since we no longer needed some of the features we previously used. When we've had to reach out to customer service it's been a bit of a long process. Our issues have always gotten solved but sometimes it just felt like we were waiting a while to hear back. Castr was the least expensive solution that we could find, and it works great. No issues with lags, or performance issues at all. We have used the service for several years with no reason to look elsewhere as it just "works." They constantly seem to improve it and add features as well - like direct streaming to our website as well as to facebook and youtube.
