The manual is also very well prepared and easy to access. **What do you dislike about CarSim?** I did not experience any specific drawback. The only thing that I can say, it is sometimes uneasy to manage the variables' list for VS coding and Matlab S-function. **What problems is CarSim solving and how is that benefiting you?** We created a model of the World's fastest electric vehicle (the Venturi Buckeye Bullet 3) to track performances and evaluate how control and components upgrades would impact the vehicle's performance. In 2016, we reached 359mph in Bonneville Salts Flats. CarSim was for sure a great support tool during our project. ### 2. The models are accurate and the parameters are easy to comprehend as the naming matches the industry standard. The documentation is extensive, detailed and easy to access. The API is complete and easy to use. **What do you dislike about CarSim?** GUI still needs some improvement in the navigation system and user documentation of models. Some data processing and visualization features are no more available in the newer releases which for me is a drawback. Post processing takes too long to load. **Recommendations to others considering CarSim:** If you develop systems for the automotive industry but don’t have full access to the vehicle parameters, then CarSim is the best tool for you. **What problems is CarSim solving and how is that benefiting you?** Prediction of vehicle final behavior and control algorithms development. Reduced time during model calibration and validation. ### 3. You can bring in driver models from outside sources, including matlab and simulink. The test cases can be set up for automatic batch simulations via scripts. Large vehicle data base. **What do you dislike about CarSim?** I would prefer the model setting interface to be more user friendly. Perhaps in script mode where user can directly input scripts for simulation parameters instead of going through the Carsim user interface. **What problems is CarSim solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Carsim for SIL simulation on ADAS feature testing. By using the dynamic vehicle data base generated inhouse, we are able to run the SIL simulation within the CarSim environment. We then run the test cases in batches and compare them with real- world test data collected to explorer the robustness and accuracy of SIL simulation. ### 4. The built-in component level variety with respect to different car architecture makes CarSim more useful. ### 5. I was conducting a research to estimate the tire friction coefficient. I had to research and watch a lot of youtube videos **What problems is CarSim solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used car sim to obtain real time data of simulations under different conditions (snow, water, ice etc.) to estimate friction coefficient on each wheel individually. I was able to generate multiple graphs that fed into my analysis (brake force, acceleration, rotational speed etc.) ### 6.
