It centralizes all documentation and tracking in one place, which is essential for maintaining workflow consistency across different branches. The interface feels a bit dated and is not very intuitive for new users, meaning the learning curve is quite steep. It simplifies the coordination between different departments and provides a clear audit trail. Even without the direct local customs integration, having all the pre-shipment data organized in CargoWise makes the manual entry into other portals much faster and less prone to errors. I like using CargoWise for freight forwarding because it offers a seamless end-to-end workflow. The ease of use stands out the most, making my work straightforward. I also appreciate the features for billing and purchase booking, as they are easy to use and streamline those processes. The reports feature is another highlight for me, providing easy access to information and saving time by allowing me to quickly review outstanding reports and other details. It is a super complete system, it has a variety of features, very well done for long data base, designed for multiples scenarios and the most important is that Cargowise rarely present problems or glitches, it is so comfortable to work in a very stable system. Since it is a very complete system, it is also very complex to implement, it has quite lot options and it might be difficult to learn in a short time, many fields must be filled with codes that add an extra difficult. The rating engine is very powerful. I have tried to convince several forwarders in China how good this product is - they question why they need more efficiency - when they can just hire more staff 😅 It really is a software built on the "9 phases of Productivity": Phase One – Manual Phase Two – Computerized Phase Three – Enterprise Integration Phase Four – Supply Chain Integration Phase Five – Workflow Phase Six – Workflow Automation Phase Seven – Constraint Management Phase Eight – Buffer Management Phase Nine – Work Mix Management As a database tool also very powerful. Our technical skills would only be middle of the road, and as a result we would not be using all features/capabilities at full capacity yet - but we are still using some key features in powerful ways. There are too many aspects that we love about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about CargoWise? It does take some getting used to for new users - and the customer service experience (for support) seems lacking for new users - but it's really a software built around self empowerment and self training. They offer incentives for users to hit certification milestones which can lead to product discounts. The online learning materials are good but could be improved further. They would do well to cover more of the technical aspects/features in greater detail and make the learning curve a bit simpler (even if that means slower). The price has increased exponentially in recent months - but we are following our gut to stick with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering CargoWise: It takes sound planning and training to migrate onto this product from another. This is where the many Wisetech Service Partners can really add value to the business proposition. Do your research to see which ones may be the best fit 🙂 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is CargoWise solving and how is that benefiting you? It does so many things for us and does them well. Order Management (if we want); Handling Consols and shipments of all types; Customs declarations; Local Transport; Document preparation; Database Management; Rates Management; Accounting; Tariff Classification Management, to name just a few Right now we quote very quickly, in many multiple languages, and a lot of the business we quote on - we win. We then get to focus on the operational and customer service aspects of every shipment - we believe this is a key area where we are differentiating ourselves from the pack. Sure, we are in the game to make money - as all forwarders are - but it has never been our number one priority. As long as we can continue to meet or exceed our clients expectations, we know the outcome will be favourable. The product goes a long way to helping us achieve that. We also make strong use of e-docs - this is a critical cornerstone of our daily methodology in how we use the system to its higher (but not yet full) potential. We make strong use of the filters in all modules and this is also a key thing to get right - it means you can find a needle in a haystack if you need to. We are clearly solving some of our clients supply chain issues (or alleviating at least) - we have had multiple blue chip clients leave some of the bigger forwarders and bring their global business to us. We definitely don't have the buying power or the market presence of the bigger established players - but we are making up for it with our levels of communication, refined use (almost two decades) of the software - and overall customer experience.
