Aesthetically pleasing interface for visual learners. The passionate and smart team behind the scenes who genuinely care about the growing need of accessible, affordable, humanistic education for an exponential world. **What do you dislike about CanopyLAB?** Distance learning is very isolating. Exponential technology in underserved communities can be quite alien. When learning about new concepts can make a person an easy target for online bullies or inaccurate information. I had hoped for more social interaction with others on the platform as I had limited support in my region for some of these concepts. Unfortunately, there was little to no human connection during my time on the platform as it was still in its infancy. The pandemic brought many challenges however and ongoing updates should be sufficient for bridging any shortcomings. **Recommendations to others considering CanopyLAB:** I learned a great deal about international relations from my time on the platform. I am not current with changes and new courses on the platform. Localizing the goals was one of the most helpful lessons learned. It's easy to pontificate about high ideals... it is another to roll up your sleeves and make the changes in our communities. With increased digital connectivity our communities are changing. I am grateful to have been a part of the CanopyLAB journey and believe they will continue to offer a safe place to learn about new ideas. **What problems is CanopyLAB solving and how is that benefiting you?** The digital divide is large and most "solutions" are not technological. I wish people would listen more. If I can't change the world then I shall endeavour to make the changes within myself. ### 2. Additionally, in our experience, we had constant support from Canopy for the questions that arose along the way. From the perspective of the course participant, the quality of the design is something to highlight. It has a good look and feel. **What do you dislike about CanopyLAB?** At first, we needed to provide proof of having taken the course, and that was still in the process of being enabled. **Recommendations to others considering CanopyLAB:** It also works as a social network, so if building a community is one of the main interests, this is a good tool for that. **What problems is CanopyLAB solving and how is that benefiting you?** Unlike other virtual education platforms, this one works well on desktop or laptop and also on mobile applications. That is a great plus and addresses a current need today. ### 3. The platform is beautifully designed. It has a very affordable price-point. I like that it has enabled me to continue with my work in delivering courses in Yoga and Mindfulness despite the pandemic. The easy of use is important because I had to change the format from physical courses to online very quickly. The team is very helpful whenever I call or send them an email. **What do you dislike about CanopyLAB?** Maybe it could be available in even more languages. Currently, it does support Danish, but I also have Swedish clients, a language it does not yet support. But I know more languages are constantly added. I like that it resembles facebook in the sense that the individual user controls the language settings and not the administrator. **Recommendations to others considering CanopyLAB:** Go for it, they really want to help you succeeded! **What problems is CanopyLAB solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can do courses online despite COVID-19 where my studio has been closed down. It has a social network where you can connect with people. I use it to deliver courses and especially enjoy the Zoom integration for then I host live sessions with yoga or mindfulness. The benefit is that I have been able to continue with my work and finding new ways of working. Actually, I now see some advantages of having the sessions recorded because if people are sick they can view it afterward. ### 4. It has lots of nice "social" features which if you can exploit will be of great utility and engagement. **What do you dislike about CanopyLAB?** Sometimes it's so simple and easy to use that it lacks some more advanced features that would be nice to have. **Recommendations to others considering CanopyLAB:** Make sure they're thinking about the most user friendly way of delivering content. Try to create engagement with users. **What problems is CanopyLAB solving and how is that benefiting you?** An easy way to create an "on demand" course with previously recorded content, therefore extending the "shelf life" of this context. We are also seeking to increase engagement with course users. ### 5. Everyone one on our team was able to quickly understand and use the platform, which improved our speed to market. We wanted to provide them with learning opportunities such as what are our values, how to prepare for the event and where to network afterwards. This has been a great success.
