Builder Trend has excellent training and support. Their team is always improving and adding features to the software. It does sync with QuickBooks Desktop. **What do you dislike about Buildertrend?** It does not do AIA billing format. It is complicated to get comprehensive reports. Doing customer invoicing can be complicated on cost plus billings. It takes a while to really learn all the functions of this program. **Recommendations to others considering Buildertrend:** Make sure you use the trial before making a decision to buy any software. **What problems is Buildertrend solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has excellent communication and project management tools. They are improving their customer invoicing and PO/Bill management. We are using it to create budgets and request for proposals to vendors. ### 2. It allows all of our contractors, vendors, clients and team members that are involved in the project to see the schedule, know what is their role in the job and know what is expected of them. It also allows us in our team to track the cost of the projects and see where we can build in more profit. **What do you dislike about Buildertrend?** There is not much about buildertrend that I dont like. Maybe the pricing platform could be structured differently. But then again, the more jobs you have in there means only means the more money you are making! **Recommendations to others considering Buildertrend:** This is a good product for all companies - big, small or middle sized. BT helps us stay efficient and keep getting more efficient. **What do you dislike about Buildertrend?** Honestly, the first thing that comes to mind is notifications. This may have changed in updates, but last time i attempted, i couldn't customize my notification preferences to my needs. Settings are either off or on (email, app notification, and text message). Other than glitches with app shutting down or not uploading all photos i've selected (which could be my cell network), i have few complaints. The complaints we do have, we can make a note for and our rep will make sure they are looked at! **What problems is Buildertrend solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are a mobile company without an office, BT is our office where we communicate, store files, keep people in the loop, and work together. ### 4. There are 6 or 7 steps per selection. When you build mostly custom homes, it makes for a lot of data entry that a small company like ours doesn't have a lot of time for, and it isn't cost effective to hire a data entry person. **What problems is Buildertrend solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our favorite problem that we've solved is the ability to keep track of change orders. This has saved us multiple times, and is the main reason that we use builder trend. ### 6. No need to manually enter things into QuickBooks either since they're able to be connected. **What do you dislike about Buildertrend?** There are sometimes glitches when using parts of the budgeting section. However I am easily able to fix it by backing out of a screen and then going back into it. We are trying to dive deeper into the customer communication piece, especially for change orders. If we can nail down how best to use this it will save us/ make us more money. Love the selections aspect. It takes a lot of upfront work and staying on top of selections. Once we got it all figured out it has been great Lastly we rely on the calendaring aspect and really love how it works and ties into the other sections we use of the software. **What do you dislike about Buildertrend?** There is a lot to this software, so we probably only use a third of it. Some minor UI aspects bother us, but nothing too bad. Leads section is lacking. Also we don't love the payment model (annual job starts), we almost went with a competitor solely for this reason **What problems is Buildertrend solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lack of organization, communication, and collaboration between the different pieces of our business (us, vendors, and clients). Getting past the learning curve was LONG and some of our guys struggled but the benefits have been great and we have more insight and are more efficient.
