Barracuda Email Gateway Defense (4.2 stars, 39 reviews) earns trust for cutting through spam and phishing without needing constant oversight, with one security admin calling it a strong first line of defense that gives confidence risky messages get stopped before users ever see them.

FortiMail (4.3 stars, 25 reviews) is credited for its integration with FortiGuard Labs threat intelligence and sandboxing, giving security teams visibility across the wider Fortinet Security Fabric alongside granular policy controls.

SpamTitan Email Security (4.5 stars, 199 reviews) shows up frequently for blocking a very high percentage of spam and malware as advertised, paired with a straightforward interface that IT teams can manage without heavy training.

Proofpoint Core Email Protection is the heavyweight here, heavily reviewed and highly rated, and it's generally the name CISOs default to for enterprise-grade secure email gateway protection against phishing, BEC, and account takeover.
