The most frustrating aspect of Blotato AI is its user interface. The design feels outdated and uninspired compared to modern competitors like Buffer or Metricool. Navigation isn't smooth or intuitive, forcing you to dig through menus just to find basic features. To make matters worse, occasional technical hiccups—like the sidebar refusing to open properly—interrupt your workflow and make daily management feel unnecessarily clunky.

A major feature downside is its limitation when posting YouTube Shorts. Blotato currently doesn't allow you to link a YouTube Short to a long-form YouTube video during scheduling. Because connecting Shorts to main videos is crucial for driving channel subscriber growth and views, this single limitation forces you to abandon the scheduler and upload Shorts natively on YouTube instead.

While the auto-reply and unified comment inbox features are great for Instagram and Facebook, Blotato lacks inbox integration for TikTok. I use Blotato AI to distribute my AI-generated video avatar content across multiple social media platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, and X. Blotato AI lets me take one idea for content and create posts for multiple platforms then post all at in one place, instead of going to each social platform separately. The AI generation features are super helpful for running concepts and getting visual suggestions, which is great because visuals can be hard to come up with. Plus, cloning an Instagram post for Facebook and TikTok is a feature I appreciate. The initial setup was easy and straightforward; I just connected my social media platforms, and the app guided me through the process. What I like:

- One account covers every page I manage, and each one shows up as its own target. That alone saves real time.

- The MCP/API is nearly the whole product for me. The agent can list accounts, schedule, check status and pull failures without me babysitting it.

- Failed posts come back with an actual error message instead of silently disappearing - so I can do something about it instead of finding out when I'm doing weekly reporting.

What I don't like / watch-outs:

- Research and sourcing features are a black box, so I don't use them. My news content has to be traceable to a source I can check, so I do sourcing separately.

I really like Blotato AI’s great scheduling feature. It allows my content to perform better by creating scheduling slots, so I can produce content when I have time, and it will publish at the best times. I also find the chat feature incredibly helpful for writing specific captions for each platform I post to. The onboarding could be improved as I'm not sure how to use all of the features. There is virtually no customer support or ways to get help. Maybe the video generation is somewhat lacking. I haven't found a real group yet for my use case that I stated. The inspiration tool in Blotato AI only searches Twitter, which I find limiting. I really wish it could search other social media platforms because some audiences are more active on platforms like Instagram or LinkedIn. Since Twitter is basically 75% bots now, this feature is pretty useless to me. So, I wish there was more integration with other social media platforms in the inspiration feature.
