## BLAZE Reviews
  ### 1. Rock-Solid Connectivity, but Onboarding and Batch Updates Are Painful

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thaddeus K. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2026

**What do you like best about BLAZE?**

I have worked at 4 dispensaries in IL. Blaze BY FAR has the bets server connectivity, with no loss to service rendering our ability to do business inoperable. This is a HUGE advantage compared to Dutchie/Sweed servers that consistently run into trouble weekly/monthly. I can only count x2 instances of bad network/server response with Blaze, keeping our pace of business consistent day to day.

**What do you dislike about BLAZE?**

The onboarding process with Blaze is extremely burdensome to navigate. Blaze also does not allow batch-specific product info conditions. For example: if we onboard a product we already have in-stock, but that product has a different THC%, we need to manually change the THC% for that product once we make the new one live. Further, this works the same for pricing for new onboards. If I onboard a product I already have, after selling through the first batch, we may need to change the retail price for the unit that we recieved, rather than the former price, we then have to audit this across a few products daily to ensure we are showing the same price. If blaze would allow us to set both cost AND retail of a product based on SKU, that would be more idea.

**What problems is BLAZE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Point of sale, inventory management, customer data collection.

Overall, BLAZE has been great. There have been a few instances where we experienced minor glitches, but they have always been resolved in a timely manner

  ### 4. Overpromise, under deliver

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronak P. | Business Operations Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2025

**What do you like best about BLAZE?**

The platform achieves 70% of what you need done and easy to use for those that 70% of tasks needed.

**What do you dislike about BLAZE?**

I use Blaze on a daily basis so I understand its benefits and pitfalls.

Regarding customer, technical, sales support: My experience engaging with Blaze has been mediocre at best. When logical, compliance driven requests are made about the functionality of Blaze, it is often met with a response that tries to convince the enduser to do things "Blaze's" way, which often involves extra steps(providing inefficiency) or pushes responsibility of action on the customer and its employees rather than looking into a solution that meets both efficiency and compliance driven requests.

On more than one occasion, both technical and customer support have been unable to explain existing or newly rolled out features.

Blaze does a great job of deploying good marketing tactics to provide the facade of integrating the newest technology advancements (i.e. AI) but without any actual understanding of the features or capabilities to the extent at which they market.

It is very obvious that they are taking the feedback and input of a few large companies and suggesting medium and small businesses to adapt to the ways of other companies without taking into consideration the laws/compliance variation by state. How one state handles compliance can be completely different from others. They lack the foundational understanding of how their software needs to have specific guardrails and checks and balances implemented into the system so that their platform can actually meet the needs of customers across state lines. Rather their go to suggestion is to develop our own internal SOPs to meet Blaze's suggestions. This is the biggest delineation of understanding how your customer operates and how your platform can meet their needs.

My suggestion to Blaze is to get an understanding of how regulations work by state. Obtain significant primary market research directly from customers in those respective states. Identify the common ground across states as a base foundation of core functions. Build the differences on top of that as it relates to different states. Consult lawyers and Operators regularly about changes in the industry to modify software accordingly.

**What problems is BLAZE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A front of house retail POS. It achieves the bare minimum requirements.

  ### 5. More issues since we've used it

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc Q. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2023

**What do you like best about BLAZE?**

The People are phenominal and are always trying to help with issues

**What do you dislike about BLAZE?**

The POS itself is terrible. There are always glitches and mistakes happening. With no way to keep track of these issues( Besides seeing them in person) it creates terrible trust issues with the program itself.

**What problems is BLAZE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The price point on blaze is wonderful, until you look at the time spent dealing with problems or with all the extra steps dealing with processes other pos systems have made easier.

  ### 6. ALL IN ONE POS SYSTEM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rishi P. | SOFTWARE DEVELOPER, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2023

**What do you like best about BLAZE?**

Blaze Retail is one of the best POS software which the User can use. They provide a variety of solutions and features which is benefited for the users. Blaze POS manages all the order and stock related for that orders. It manages employees and all the transactions related to them.

**What do you dislike about BLAZE?**

There is nothing in the Blaze retails as such which user have to dislike. Yea there can be one thing it takes time to load the users data and order page if there are plenty of them.

**What problems is BLAZE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blaze provides various features which are helping in the current flow - Blaze is managing all the inventory of the products along with there batches information. It is also managing user information and total transactions made by each users. It is easy to navigate between the users and the order placed during that time.

We are currently using KML featurs of the blaze, due to which we can get the products which are listed in the blaze using their nearby API.

  ### 7. They are unfamiliar with the OCM Regulations

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about BLAZE?**

They are willing to work with anyone/subcontractor.

**What do you dislike about BLAZE?**

They want us (a NYS retail dispensary) to double check their receipts to make sure they comply with the OCM regulations. It really doesn't seem like they know what's going on in the NYS cannabis industry at all & I'm worried about having to double check all items received from Blaze to make sure we are not breaking any OCM rules.

Their hardware is expensive (even with the 2 years of free service deal they offered to CAURD holders to keep up with Dutchie).

**What problems is BLAZE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm unaware of them solving any problems.

  ### 8. Not the POS for me

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2023

**What do you like best about BLAZE?**

Previous management had decided to switch to this platform from IndicaOnline. When I came on board the first change I made was to get rid of both and switch over to Meadow.

**What do you dislike about BLAZE?**

The inventory allowed packages to be oversold which constantly brought a negative threshold onto our Metrc account. I prefer a POS system that you can actively track inventory in and complete cycle counts in real time. Having to enter a zero in every package that has ever been accepted through the store is tedious & time consuming. The customer service takes weeks to get back to you with answers. I am happy we switched POS systems.

**What problems is BLAZE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unsure

  ### 9. Better options than most

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2021

**What do you like best about BLAZE?**

Blaze has quite a few great features including numerous reports, dashboard analytics, loyalty points, marketing, and SMS built into their platform, and has a solid sync to Metrc.

**What do you dislike about BLAZE?**

Lots of weird little bugs. They do have a support chat where you can send these in, and they do actually attempt to help you though.

**Recommendations to others considering BLAZE:**

Blaze has a lot of integrations available, and regularly updates their software to include new features. I think it's the best bang for your buck.

**What problems is BLAZE solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to mass market to all of our customers at once, or pick and choose, and we're able to track inventory and see what is actually selling and doing well.
