One thing I would like to see improved is better centralized deployment and management for the desktop app. It would be helpful if Bitwarden had an ADMX template, group policy support, or another centralized way to deploy default settings across all domain computers and users. Right now, I have to direct each user through enabling certain features manually, which is not always ideal, especially when working with users who are not very technology inclined. Sharing credentials within an organization can be a little clunky, and while the organization set-up will take you a minute or two to get your head wrapped around, the free plan is limited to one type of device (phone or desktop), which can be frustrating if you’d like to use both types of devices without spending money. I guess it’s a petty complaint, but the generated password popup closes instantly if you accidentally click on anything outside of the popup, and I’ve lost generated passwords that way more times than I care to admit. I used to store my passwords in a spreadsheet, some were in browser storage, and a handful were scribbled somewhere in a notebook – it was a disaster and wasn’t safe. And since it’s open source, you don’t have to simply trust a company’s word that they aren’t doing something bad with your data – someone has looked at the code.
