"Effective for CAD Version Control but Needs Bug Fixes"

What do you like best about Bild?

I like that Bild keeps track of part version history, which is really helpful for managing CAD versions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bild?

There are a lot of bugs, like all drawings are given the same part number, which means there's a decent amount of manual effort required for it to work as intended. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Thanks for the feedback, and we’re glad to hear Bild has been helpful for managing CAD version history and keeping track of revisions across parts.

Bild does not automatically assign the same part number across files, and part numbers are managed individually per file. We also have safeguards in place that flag duplicate part numbers to help teams avoid conflicts and maintain clean data.

"Good inexpensive/lightweight PDM, very useful Browser preview and an evolving UX"

What do you like best about Bild?

The browser interface and preview tools in Bild are really helpful to enable indirect users to access PDM files and keep up to speed with the project without needing to have contributor credentials. The app is effective and with some quick setup can make the user keep up to speed and current on revisions with a couple of clicks. Solidworks' collaboration tools allow easy integration of Bild PDM with multi-user environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Bild?

Being a third party PDM, it lacks some of the features that you get with native CAD PDM built-in programs. The renaming folders and files could use some improvement, while preserving metadata. Depending on how the team uses the product, users can often get into a situation where 'getting latest' new files will repeatedly pull HUNDREDS of 'desktop.ini' files, which can get cumbersome on large projects with many users. More support documentation or user forums would be very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
