Per the title, the software itself is first class - we looked at many competitors in the PSA sector but Projector stood out as being uniquely logical, understandable, stable, and complete, but with sufficient flexibility that there is generally a pretty decent way of doing things if you have organisational 'quirks'. The interface is user-friendly, well laid out, and powerful, making the acquisition of data and management information quick and easy.

However, where Projector stands out is at implementation; from the point of pre-sales, the Projector team were honest, open, knowledgeable, and approachable - incredibly easy to work with. However, implementing a Projector in an organisation that was itself a software implementor was eye-opening in all the right ways. We had a tight timescale; no problem. Needed careful budget management; no problem. Out-of-session questions; no problem. Self-help materials - and I had a good idea of the time and effort that has to go into these sorts of things - no problem.

Once PSA is configured to specification, there is a tremendous economy of scale created. Whether it is a new resource, project or invoice, the system is built for improving efficiencies and enabling scalability. My favorite part about the system is the Projector BI integration. We've been able to build org monitoring, project management and resource management dashboards that allow us to get all of the information we need to run the company more efficiently while spending less time doing so. The resource & project management dashboards have enabled our teams to be able to manage themselves. We have been using Projector for about 10 years.

We initially rolled it out to replace our outdated timesheeting. From there we moved on to project management, resource management, forecasting and revenue recognition.

As our processes have matured we have found that Projector as a tool has everything that we could possibly need, and more, already baked in.

Its strengths are:

Projector is relatively easy for end-user, billable staff to use; but it is a powerful tool for project managers, and the power makes the system complex. PMs require a fair amount of training before they become effective in the tool.

I have never used a system like this before and I have no point of reference to compare it to - maybe this is the best there is for the purposes it serves.
