I ended up stopping my subscription because my image usage slowed down and I felt like I was losing money when I didn't use my credits. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** The subscription service offers unliimted downloads per day or per month, but the credits don't roll over, use them or lose them. Their "image credit" option give you a high per-image cost (between $1 and $3.50, depending on how many bulk credits you get.) **What problems is Bigstock solving and how is that benefiting you?** Their image library is unique enough that if you use them, you get images that aren't all available in other platforms, so you can feel like you get a fresh set of images. When I was using A LOT of images, I found their subscription model to be very cost effective for my agency. ### 2. You can add images to lightboxes for ease of finding later. If you don't add images to lightboxes, it makes it more difficult to find the ones you've already purchased. (They appear in a chronological list.) You can re-download any images you've already purchased for no extra fee. Images are available in multiple sizes. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** If Bigstock had more search options it would be really powerful. It is sometimes difficult to refine one's search sufficiently to find what one needs. While the video library has some quality stock videos, I'm not sure it is worth the extra expense. **What problems is Bigstock solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use images all the time for learning courses and often have to find very specific ones - for medical conditions or showing older adults being cared for by others. There is a wide range selection of content, even if you're looking for something out of the ordinary. It has a combination of graphics, photographs, and videos. I have found most of what I need for my promotional marketing purposes on BigStock. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** Although I love the selection of BigStock Photos, the subscription plan is very below-par, in my opinion. The plans give you a certain amount of images per month, but if you don't use them, you lose them! Some months I need a lot of images and some months I don't need any. I feel like my subscription can be wasteful if I don't make a point to log-on every month and look for images. **What problems is Bigstock solving and how is that benefiting you?** Because we do not have a professional photographer on staff, BigStock has been a big help for supplementing marketing materials. I can easily find realistic, on-brand images for our marketing purposes. This takes the pressure off of me to capture photos in our facility all the time. ### 11. It was the cheapest option I found for buying à la carte photos as compared to similar stock libraries like iStock. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** The credits system should really be a 1-to-1 ratio—one photo equals one credit. Then I wouldn't have to do so much mental calculation to figure out how much an asset is going to cost me and what kind of credit pack I need to buy. I also find that the search filters aren't as robust as Adobe Stock or iStock, and it takes me more time to find a photo I like. The photos are often not quite as high quality (artistically, not technically) as some other libraries. There is also a great need for better diversity in the stock models' race, body size, etc. **What problems is Bigstock solving and how is that benefiting you?** Stock libraries are great for saving time on assets that would otherwise take a lot to produce in-house. When I worked for a supplement company, I needed photos of unique ingredients that would be hard to purchase in their raw form for my own photoshoots, and Bigstock had many good photos of those ingredients. For instance, if I am looking for an icon that I need to add to help people further understand, I always go to Bigstock first. You can browse by photos that are landscape or portrait. You can search by vector or photograph, and you can search anything in the search bar and typically have pages and pages to scroll through to find the perfect image/file. It makes designing easier. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** Most of the photographs that I come across in Bigstock look very much like stock images. If that's what you are going for, then this is perfect for you! However, I am usually looking for photos that feel real and inviting and not staged. In this instance, I almost always end up using a different site to help me. **What problems is Bigstock solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am solving design problems (like empty space) and making my designs even better using the vector images in Bigstock. Sometimes, when I feel like my design needs something more, I search up some different keywords on Bigstock and see if I can add something that will give it that "finished" look and feel. ### 13. I use a lot of lifestyle images in my work and need to stray away from anything that looks too 'stocky'. Their vast library can seem daunting, but their search features make it easy to find what you need quickly and to search related photos quickly as well. If you find a photographer or contributor you like, you can search through just their photos as well. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** The only thing I dislike about Bigstock is the automatic enlargement of photos when you scroll through the images. There is no way to shut this feature off and there is no way to place your mouse on the screen so that you can scroll but not hover over random photos and have them enlarge. I wish you could just shut this option off or have to hover over the image for longer than just a quick scroll. It's distracting. **Recommendations to others considering Bigstock:** I would recommend Bigstock if you need a lot of images (we download about 10 per day). We do a lot of branding and idea implementation, but this site really has it all, and it doesn't quit! If I want to look up "oil change", about 40 different real photos appear, and they each have their own differences that are distinct, but not grossly different enough to make me think "these have nothing to do with what I'm looking up". Our graphic designer loves them, as do I. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** It has a super slight learning curve which takes a little getting used to honestly. You have to be able to read between the lines, and find different images for the task at hand. **Recommendations to others considering Bigstock:** Try it out. Usually sourcing images and other graphics of that nature can be difficult and not at all cost effective. Having a centralized repository of these aforementioned things really streamlines the process we currently take to bring presentations to life and enhance their content. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** I think the blessing and the curse of having so many images is that there are almost too many images to go around. Sometimes the search function on google is so great we mostly go there first and try to find a comparable image in bigstock and that can be a lengthy process. With literally millions of choices at your disposal, it's easy to find the perfect graphic addition to any project. Even better, you can try it for free for seven days to see if it's right for you. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** The search engine functionally could definitely be improved upon. You can really own filter by one method at a time to sort through search results. It would be much more useful to include the ability to search for photos with multiple tags, and flexible criteria. **Recommendations to others considering Bigstock:** Take advantage of the seven day free trial! **What problems is Bigstock solving and how is that benefiting you?** Finding quality and fitting imagery for small scale website design and marketing projects and daily operation. It also provides large thumbnails that makes for easy viewing on a small monitor. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** Not being able to choose between photos and vector images. It's just images or videos. Needs more granular search options. Also being able to allow for more or less thumbnails per page would be a great option. **Recommendations to others considering Bigstock:** Whereas it's a good resource, the search part is it's biggest drawback in my opinion. The search tool needs to be more granular - i.e. be able to narrow down search to just photos, or vector images, color vs, b/w, etc. Also being able to allow for more or less thumbnails per page would be a great option. **What problems is Bigstock solving and how is that benefiting you?** Images for marketing collateral. The images cover a broad array of subjects and are of adequate quality for most uses. I have never used the stock video. **What do you dislike about Bigstock?** The images are a little generic. They seem geared toward subject matter and are probably most useful for tv graphics. **Recommendations to others considering Bigstock:** This is a really good product for imagery needed to make generic mock-ups to depict subject matter. Think news programs or other shows that utilize an image block above the host or moderator to signal a transition to a subject. **What problems is Bigstock solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is a decent way to access quality images at a low cost per image, especially for outfits with a need for a lot of subject oriented stock imagery. ### 34.
