## About Big Interview
Big Interview is an AI-powered interview preparation and resume building platform built for organizations that support job seekers at scale: universities, nonprofits, workforce development programs, and state agencies. The core problem we solve: career readiness programs can't do 1:1 interview coaching for every participant. Staff are stretched thin, cohorts are growing, and the old model of sitting down with each person for 30–60 minutes of mock interview practice doesn't scale. Big Interview gives program teams the infrastructure to deliver structured, high-quality interview prep and resume support to hundreds or thousands of participants, without adding headcount. How organizations use it Administrators assign interview practice sets and resume tasks with deadlines, track completion and scores from a central dashboard, and export usage data for funder reporting. The platform replaces ad hoc coaching with a repeatable system: assign, practice, review, report. Program teams can customize the experience for their population. Create custom question sets by industry, role, or specific employer. Build HireVue-specific practice modules. Tailor AI resume feedback to match your organization's best practices. Whether you're preparing first-time job seekers, career changers, veterans transitioning to civilian roles, or scholars competing for Rhodes and Fulbright Fellowships, the platform adapts to the use case. What participants get Learners practice answering interview questions on video and receive instant AI feedback across 16 dimensions, including pacing, filler words, eye contact, vocabulary, and answer content. It's the kind of detailed, specific feedback a human interviewer wouldn't think to give, available 24/7 and repeatable as many times as needed. The platform includes 170+ video lessons covering everything from STAR method fundamentals to specialized playbooks for career changers, ESL learners, veterans, returning citizens, and new graduates. A library of 1,000+ practice questions spans industries and roles, so participants practice what they'll actually face. On the resume side, Big Interview's AI resume builder scores drafts for readability, credibility, ATS compatibility, and alignment to a target job description. Resumes arrive at a coach's desk already 80% ready. Staff shift from line-editing to strategic advising. Who uses Big Interview The platform is trusted by 700+ U.S. universities, 10+ state government workforce programs, and organizations including OneTen Coalition, Merit America, Management Leadership for Tomorrow, the USO, Ron Brown Scholar Program, and CyberUp. It's used across higher education career centers, nonprofit workforce programs, state reemployment initiatives, and fellowship preparation pipelines. One nonprofit partner saw professional development participation jump from roughly 50% to 90% after switching to Big Interview's structured assignment model. Another uses it to prepare scholars for the most competitive fellowship interviews in the world. A state workforce agency made it a mandatory part of reemployment services, logging over 13,000 recorded practice interviews in six months. What makes it different Most interview prep tools are built for individual consumers or for employers screening candidates. Big Interview is built for the organizations in between — the ones actually preparing people to succeed. That means admin tools, assignment workflows, cohort tracking, deadline management, and exportable reports come standard. It's not an open-ended self-service tool that participants ignore; it's a structured system that program teams can build into their curriculum. The platform fits within federal micro-purchase thresholds and can be written directly into grant budgets as a program cost: no competitive bidding or RFP required. Big Interview is developed by career coaching expert Pamela Skillings and powered by AI that's continuously updated to reflect current hiring practices. Over 1 million job seekers have used the platform, and on average, users report landing roles approximately 4 weeks faster than the national average.

## Big Interview Reviews
 ### 1. Excellent product with room to fine-tune

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig B. | Assistant Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Big Interview?**

Big Interview is robust when it comes to its primary function: virtual interview practice. AI-powered feedback is a nice touch for providing users feedback without even needing to share their practice with others. Provides the ability to create custom interview questions and practices, but comes with hundreds (thousands?) of pre-built interviews across a huge range of professional fields and difficulty levels. In addition to interview practice, additional video-based curricula are available for things like salary negotiation, resume-building, and more.

**What do you dislike about Big Interview?**

The admin portal is lacking, with minimal reporting capabilities and lack of ability to fine tune admin/staff user privileges. The help/support site is pretty bare-bones, as well, and offers little help when you actually need it (lack of articles or topics simply not addressed at all). Live help is advertised as being live/available most of the time, but almost every time I've attempted to contact them that way, my message gets marked as "read" then a while later it tells me I was disconnected for no activity and the support person is no longer available.

**Recommendations to others considering Big Interview:**

Big Interview is easy to set up, you can be live in a couple weeks. My biggest recommendation would be to have a plan for marketing the platform and have some partnerships in place in advance to get immediate buy-in. Students aren't necessarily inclined to use a platform like this for fun, they may need some 'motivation' to get in there and complete interviews or the other curricula.

**What problems is Big Interview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work with college students who are working toward part-time jobs, internships, and career positions. It is not practical for me to provide custom interview training/mock interviews to the vast majority of students, so Big Interview lets me easily scale services to our entire campus, including to faculty who wish to incorporate such content into their courses without necessarily wanting to 'assign' students to meet with me.

 ### 2. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Helena V. | none, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Big Interview?**

Nothing. It did not fill my expectactions and it was not useful on my case at all.

**What do you dislike about Big Interview?**

I paid for this service thinking that it would be helpful for my current job search (residency interview), since they have Medical School interview training. I paid for only 1 month - $79 (be aware: THEY DON'T MENTION THAT THIS IS A RECURRENT CHARGE, AND I NEVER ACCEPTED TO BE BILLED AGAIN).

It turned out to be completely useless for me, so I never used it. Since this period has been extremely stressful, I forgot to ask for the money refund right away (they have a money-back policy). But surprise!! One month later I was charged again 79 dollars, and asked for the refund. They initially accepted, made me fill a "special form" since I was falling outside the 30-day period. Finally, they only refunded half it!
Despite multiple emails, no way to get all my money back. They have an activity tracker that shows how much of their service was used (0% in my case). And still, they refuse to give me back my $160.
MY ADVICE: DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

**What problems is Big Interview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None.

Hi Helena, first off apologies. It sounds like you didn't get the refund you expected (or even access to the correct product).

As a side note we do actually have a special product specifically for medical residency interviews that is one price for the entire residency interview season - that's at biginterviewmedical.com (more on that below).

With respect to pricing, our pricing page does in fact list pricing options on a "per month" basis, and our FAQ goes into more detail.

Also, as you mentioned, our refund policy is pretty clear and transparent - we offer a 30-day money back guarantee, and gave you a full refund for your most recent month.

If you're using Spotify, Netflix, or even LinkedIn - you can get a refund of a recent payment (but generally not retroactively months of service).

Again, it definitely sounds like we could do a better job communicating, and thank you for sharing.

Also, if you like, you can reach out to our support team (and mention this discussion) and we can discuss giving you complimentary access to Big Interview Medical.

Best,

Alex

 ### 5. One of the best Web-based Products we Purchased

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wendy F. | Director, Career and Academic Planning, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Big Interview?**

Big Interview is used by career center staff and faculty to help students practice elevator pitches and prepare them for virtual a virtual interviews. The specialized categories of questions by industry have helped some students land a job. They exclaim, "Those were the exact questions I was asked!" It is simple to use, and students have zero technical issues figuring it out. Many complete the assignment using their SMART phone, which reflects the real world. The best part is - it's affordable!

**What do you dislike about Big Interview?**

Creating assignments. I use my own template document and have to "paste" the code for each course. On other products I paste in the class emails and the message is sent automatically with directions.

**What problems is Big Interview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been using Big Interview for four years - prior to COVID. Now that a majority of interviews are virtual - this is being used campus-wide to prepare students. Glad we were prepared! Also, since we cannot do mock interviews on campus - this gives students some real-life experiences.

At Rider University Center for Career Development and Success, we have offered Big Interview as a resource and tool for our students and alumni for over five years. There is nothing that comes to find regarding features I do not like.

**What problems is Big Interview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 8. User-friendly product with quality features and resources

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron B. | Student Development Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Big Interview?**

Big Interview has a multitude of features that are great for preparing for interviews in a myriad of different industries. The vast question library sorted by industry, competency and other categories is extremely helpful for creating customized interview sets with ease. Furthermore, I have found the questions to be quite relevant and current with today's industry and social trends.

**What do you dislike about Big Interview?**

When rating and reviewing interview assignments, I am unable to change the criteria by which I rate assignments. Given the many ways in which interviewers today evaluate their candidates, I would like to be able customize the criteria I use when giving feedback to students. The ability to do so would make the platform even more realistic and beneficial for its users.

**Recommendations to others considering Big Interview:**

I would highly suggest that any institution involved in preparing individuals for their careers and interviews seriously consider using Big Interview. Big Interview provides an efficient platform by which to give realistic practice and timely interview feedback to those individuals in a remote manner that is suitable for the busy, demanding schedules students and professionals alike have today. Also, Big Interview has many educational resources and modules for its users to explore to become more knowledgeable and adept at interviewing, salary negotiation and many other valuable skills.

**What problems is Big Interview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to help students adequately prepare for and adjust to the increased use of digital interviews by large financial firms today for their use in vetting candidates. Being forced to talk to a computer's camera can be awkward and having minimal time to answer a question can be tough. With the use of Big Interview, however, I have increased the likelihood students at my school will perform well in such digital interviews.

 ### 9. Didn’t help much

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Big Interview?**

It’s okay, nothing much to write about.

**What do you dislike about Big Interview?**

I was taken up by Pamela’s Big Interview 5 part free email series, and then before my interview with Google, I thought I should pay the fee, it was $120 for a month subscription. I found the 5 lectures to be fairly sufficient over the content in the app. I am not good at formulating answers, but the model replies in the app wasn’t so useful for my field as an architect and I went online and found another free website instead to formulate my answers. The fee I felt was very high and expected more. I only used it once and didn’t seem to require to use it again after the first round

**Recommendations to others considering Big Interview:**

No

**What problems is Big Interview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Facing an interview

 ### 10. Very helpful product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditya D. | Business Process Re-Engineering Intern, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2017

**What do you like best about Big Interview?**

The option to either using the fast track or the mastery track is the best feature. If I am in a hurry to prepare for an interview, I am given the most important preparation tools via the fast track option. On the other hand, if I have time and just want to improve my interviewing skills I can take the mastery track. Also, there are a lot of resources provided to me, especially the virtual interview through which I can prepare my answers and they are recorded and I am given feedback.

**What do you dislike about Big Interview?**

The thing I dislike about Big Interview is that there are too many headings to choose from. I do not want to see so many headings as it makes the use of the tool intimidating. Also, the feedback is not given immediately which is downer.

**Recommendations to others considering Big Interview:**

When using Big Interview, try to make the most out of the Tell A Story feature as it is very helpful in building a story about urself. This will help you answer STAR questions.

**What problems is Big Interview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The task in my organization is to find candidates for the certain positions. The Big Interview tool helps me prepare the questions I need in order to prepare the interview process for the positions.

 ### 11. Big Interview Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert V. | Associate Director of Career Services / Employer Relations, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2017

**What do you like best about Big Interview?**

The interview “roulette” option is fantastic for students that struggle with the “unknown” aspects of interviewing. It can show them in the video review what their initial reactions are truly like.

**What do you dislike about Big Interview?**

It is nice that there is the ability to preset interviews, but it can be a bit clunky and time consuming

**Recommendations to others considering Big Interview:**

It’s a good product, you just have to weigh the cost with the outcomes

**What problems is Big Interview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At my institution we had a need for assisting a larger number of students with practice interviews. Big interview gave us this ability without having to find additional mock interview volunteers.

 ### 12. An honest review of the Big interview software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunny D. | Mathematics Tutor, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Big Interview?**

THe best thing about the Big interview software is it provides immense of materials for the candidates to learn. The other best thing about this is course notes. they are very easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Big Interview?**

Feedback on the submitted assignment is the only thing this software should take care of.

**Recommendations to others considering Big Interview:**

I highly recommended this software to my calssmates seeking jobs.

**What problems is Big Interview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am preparing for my interview with the help of this software.
