For example, even though a site is "allowed" it may have additional traffic routing from other locations that end up being blocked. There are a lot of settings but I'm still trying to figure out where some of them are. I've had to call Barracuda support a few times to try to find a setting a few times, and they've always been nice and helpful, but some of the setting locations just don't make sense to me. **Recommendations to others considering Barracuda Web Security and Filtering:** Barracuda Web Security and Filtering is a really good product and is helps keep us HIPAA compliant. I think our biggest struggle was trying to get it setup and implemented. We had a lot of questions and needed some guidance to get everything initially configured and talking with Office 365 and LDAP, but once we did it has been working really well. There are some struggles trying to find some settings, but Barracuda support has always been helpful and has always answered all of my questions. We are a non-profit company, so I really would suggest taking a look at the Barracuda Web Security and Filtering product if you are HIPAA compliant too, as it can help keep you compliant too. **What problems is Barracuda Web Security and Filtering solving and how is that benefiting you?** Because we are HIPAA compliant, the Barracuda Web Security and Filtering product has helped by always keeping us complaint. That compliance is now something that I no longer worry about or lose sleep over. Once we were able to get the Barracuda product setup and working correctly, it took all of those headaches away and because of the automatic updates, we don't have to worry about keeping on top of updates and patches. ### 13. Barracuda Web Security and Filtering really lets me drill down into the individual settings for all of my endpoints and black-or white-list ports, sites, or even applications. It allowed me to let our CEO connect to Facebook but keep the rest of the staff off of it. **What do you dislike about Barracuda Web Security and Filtering?** Right now, because of Covid, I have remote users that are not protected because they are not connected through the VPN. We just don't have any extra licenses. A remote option for the on-premise device would add value to it. We have also found that https filtering is a bit more difficult to setup because it looks like we would have to have a certificate on each machine that communicates with our Barracuda device for https filtering to work. I'm working on getting it setup, but it seems like a lot of work for https filtering. **Recommendations to others considering Barracuda Web Security and Filtering:** If you are looking for for a complete web filtering solution that will also help block malware, take a look at the Barracuda Web Security and Filtering device. It has options and is customizable for any and all businesses, and it is not a device that can be circumvented. **What problems is Barracuda Web Security and Filtering solving and how is that benefiting you?** Since incorporating Barracuda in our network, our malware has nearly been eradicated and my calls for help have gone down. We've been able to keep efficiency up and downtime to a minimum because we just haven't had the same issues we were having before we were protected by the Barracuda device. We also have instant reporting, either on demand or scheduled, to show and inform managers of abuses and time spent web browsing. Should bandwidth ever become a problem, we can easily narrow the scope of users browsing the internet to free up bandwidth, while we investigate the issue. **What do you dislike about Barracuda Web Security and Filtering?** With tighter controls, comes more needed attention and tweaking things as users need special access. This was taking a huge toll on my IT resources. Since implementing the Barracuda Web Security and Filtering we have, maybe, one PC infected a year. Incredible improvement! We also had an HR incident with an employee being accused of looking at pornography while at work. After reviewing the Barracuda Web Security logs, we determined the user did not, and could not, browse to any pornographic websites. This cleared the accused employee of the false allegations and also allowed us to take action against the employee who made the false allegations. ### 17. Helpful logs provide answers to why a website isn't accessible, and also for identifying what components of a website may not be working (often it's not the domain of the website, but a component of it that is blocked). Amazing products, amazing service, superior support....if you need in the first place. If you are more than 500 users, I suggest you either run dual systems and split the traffic, or perhaps look into something a little larger that will fit your needs. But, with the outstanding support from Barracuda they will get you up and running quickly. **Recommendations to others considering Barracuda Web Security and Filtering:** Get with Barracuda for a live webinar and live demo. Let them also set you up with a demo unit you can try in their cloud without having to actually use it live on your own network. Then let them send you a demo unit to try out on your own network. The best thing about Barracuda is their support services from pre-sale, to setup, to use, to addressing issues, and everything in between. Their support is absolutely the best in the business! **What problems is Barracuda Web Security and Filtering solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our primary issue was that we had problems with users accessing adult websites and P2P sites and downloading non-licensed content. This allowed us to block those sites as well as helped us manage our bandwidth usage by also blocking streaming TV and Video sites as well as allocate bandwidth caps on other sites and users. ### 31. Like the way you can give accees to certain websites during certain hours only. Specially social networking websites, banking, Utility etc can be allowed during lunch hours only. **What do you dislike about Barracuda Web Security and Filtering?** Application block feature does not give much details about what applications are blocked and also it does not give username of the user who tried to access the application it only provides IP address of the workstation. **What problems is Barracuda Web Security and Filtering solving and how is that benefiting you?** We mainly use Barracuda web filter to restrict certain webcategories and it does amazing job. It helps us keep track of what websites has been accessed and also helps in blocking unneccesary and annoying popups on websites. ### 33. Is great for small and medium business looking for a separate firewall solution from their AV. **What do you dislike about Barracuda Web Security and Filtering?** Agent isn't the easiest to install, upgrade or uninstall. Rules aren't easy to implement. Would be better with a more robust AV solution integration. **Recommendations to others considering Barracuda Web Security and Filtering:** Have a remote install software ready when you need to implement. Test ports so you don't lock yourself out once implemented. **What problems is Barracuda Web Security and Filtering solving and how is that benefiting you?** We solved the need to protect endpoint while in the field. Allow for content filtering and monitoring for employee time sinks. Reporting, while limited, was much better than nothing at all! ### 34.
