The security features are really impressive to me. The second good thing for me is that the cost is in an acceptable price range with simple pricing, and it’s cheaper than my previous backup solution It’s helping me with replicating K8s deployment as well as backing up persistent data. I also like their support team, they are super helpful, understanding and respond really quickly. Plus it works with all my different Linux operating systems. Easy to write custom scripts. Love this! I also appreciate using the GUI and the command line in parallel. **What do you dislike about Bacula Enterprise?** You need to have pretty good knowledge of Linux to make best use out of it. I don't think a pure Windows person would be comfortable with it. Their platform is aiming more into bigger customers with extensive infra and big amounts of data. As the solution is agnostic, that is, it can be deployed in practically any system or application, we understand that Bacula Enterprise is currently the most appropriate solution for our environment. It is not suitable for all browsers and is also not very responsive, not suitable for use on mobile devices. It is the part that most needs improvement, bacula does not have an interface really designed for mobile devices or even compatible with multiple browsers. At various times, using it on a cell phone, for example, ends up crashing your browser. This can be extended by a long list of additional plugins that can be used for a wide variety of backup needs. This makes Bacula very fine-granular adaptable. The support team understands that in the long run, it's also in their interest to have their client well trained and understanding all small details of their Product. In the end, a badly designed backup solution using good software makes a bad backup solution! They solve this by taking their time to explain everything in detail and by suggesting additional features/configurations that you might be unaware of. This leads to a well-designed backup solution that the client itself understands fully and, more importantly, trusts completely. **What do you dislike about Bacula Enterprise?** It's a proprietary piece of software. That makes it that changes can only be implemented through one path. And in the end, they have to rely on receiving feedback from clients. We learned a lot and were able to set up a working production environment that has been running all our backups for around 500 servers. A couple of things stood out: - Pleasant onboarding. To decide wether Bacula Enterprise was something we could use we requested a more extensive proof of concept phase to pilot the different scenarios we needed to cover in Bacula Enterprise. Bacula Enterprise was very accomodating in this process, probably more than they strictly had to. The File daemon once setup just runs smoothly without hassles.Everything we need is available on web platform on Bweb management console. There's also option for Baculum support. I personally like because it's feature includes Bare-metal backup VM Backup DB backup Cloud Backup Tape Backup Replication using Wan and Restoration. **What do you dislike about Bacula Enterprise?** The Enterprise edition is quite advantageous than the Community edition. Even though the trial version gives you all access to try Enterprise Edition version 8 features, VSS plugin, BWeb Management Suite etc. It'll make you want to buy for service unlike Bare-os which started initially as a fork of Bacula is being considered as a better alternative to Enterprise edition **Recommendations to others considering Bacula Enterprise:** BareOS is a useful recommendation for anyone willing to try a free full version open source backup solution **What problems is Bacula Enterprise solving and how is that benefiting you?** Frequent bugs in the interface, support is good but try to solve every issue in a general way possible eventhough situations may differ. ### 50. Lots of features like compression, storage allocation, flexibility and intuitive configuration. Technical support has been very prompt and excellent. **What do you dislike about Bacula Enterprise?** Can't really think of anything at the moment. **What problems is Bacula Enterprise solving and how is that benefiting you?** Backup of our enterprise data. Its easy to setup and monitor.
