## Assembly Trialworks Reviews
  ### 1. Best Desktop Case Management for Law Firms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

The program gives law firms the ability to customize dashboards, use Fast Tracks to control your court dates and discovery dates, as well as every process required to bring a case from the early stages of a lawsuit through litigation and settlement.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

The complex dashboards must be done by TrialWorks unless you have experience with SQL. Sometimes simple changes are pricey.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Document generation is easy. Docketing and calendaring is easy. Assigning cases to other members of the company is easy. Reporting is so beneficial on who does what and when.

  ### 2. Trialworks is great when it works

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Monica L. | Paralegal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

Trialworks serves as a hosting environment as well an electronic document manager with the preface of a file to host all your case materials and information. It also allows for the integration of other programs like LawToolBox and Stamps.com in the actual program itself. When you are experiencing a network issue (which is quite frequent in my experience), you can exit the hosting environment, head over to their website for support in which it will prompt a screenshare with one of their representatives that allows for a little bit of issue resolution.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

They have been experiencing large volumes of outages, storage issues and network issues. They are currently not compatible with the Windows 10 upgrade as it causes users to disconnect from the remote/hosted environment. However, it may not necessarily be a TrialWorks issue. I am not found of being unable to download other programs while in the hosted environment and have been told to just download what I need outside of the remote server. This is not helpful as all my needed documents and the whole operation of case documents is within TrialWorks itself. Another issue I have found is that saving documents on your desktop while using the remote server is unsafe as any network outage can cause and will cause all files and folders on your desktop to be deleted.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembly Trialworks:**

Give it a trial run for a few months. It is not the easiest of softwares to use.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trialworks allows me to work remotely and access my much needed documents from home so long as I have the remote server downloaded on the devise I am using. It allows for semi simple document management and helps store documents in one place.

  ### 3. Trial Works helps consolidate easy to access client information.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

The best part of Trial Works is how many different tools it provides. You never stop learning more about the software and all the tricks and short cuts it provides.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

It would probably have to be that in order to tailor it to your company’s needs, it’s a process. It’s not as simple as picking up the phone or emailing Trial Works for help.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembly Trialworks:**

Definitely recommend it. It has its kinks but it completely changes how you run your cases if you’re bringing in high volume.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trial Works helps organize cases and keep track of all of the client data, which results in efficiency and more time actually working on the client’s case/file.

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2019

The program is easy to use, allows you to upload templates, saves documents and uses links to easily move things to multiple files.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

Uploading documents is time consuming and difficult.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembly Trialworks:**

I would love to see TrialWorks create a better method of uploading documents

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is hard to upload documents, difficult to remove/hide settled or dropped cases.

  ### 6. User Friendly Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

Trialworks has an extremely user friendly interface. I was able to learn the ins and outs of the software within a couple days.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

The only issue I have is that if something is placed in the wrong category, it’s nearly impossible to move

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trialworks has allowed my office to be better connected. No more paper files, everything is scanned into the software and we all have access to it.

  ### 7. All-In-One Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

I love that 99% of my work day can be done through TrialWorks.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

Requires EXTENSIVE training, which will still not cover all the functions of TrialWorks.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembly Trialworks:**

Be prepared to spend hours and hours training, take notes, give yourself time to learn all the functions and tabs. Lots of trial and error. Utilize their tech support!

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software saves a lot of time that would have been spent typing/creating documents. The firm I work for has utilized the templates function in order to expedite documents.

  ### 8. Trialworks You Can Go Paperless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jody Marie H. | Paralegal, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

Trialworks is easy to learn, it is the only Program we use at work in our law firm.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

When upgrades occur, you can lose some of your prior features, and some of the tools are not appropriate for the legal field but you can make it work

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If documents are properly labeled, it is so easy to find what you need really quick

  ### 9. Generally adequate software, but glitchy and disorganized

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2017

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

TrialWorks is relatively easily customizable. Its system of running reports is very helpful in keeping track of case inventory, and it integrates pretty well with other Microsoft software, particularly Office.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

It has some clear and common glitches - it shuts down and leads to a frozen computer frequently. It is also not as user-friendly as it should be, which can cause case files and inventories to become very disorganized and difficult to manage.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As stated, its system of running reports is very valuable in staying on top of deadlines, and its docketing system is well integrated with Microsoft Office, which is helpful as well.

  ### 10. TW for Work

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

It's fairly easily adaptable for each individual form and their needs

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

It's some times slow, doesn't make itself completely adaptable to individual form needs and has quite a few glitches.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeps each individual case organized and easily traversed by multiple people

  ### 11. Trial works re

  ### 12. TrialWorks is Very Easy to Learn & Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

I really like how easy it is to category sort and search, as well as upload documents into the system.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

We use the web-based version and when our internet goes out, we lose our ability to work within the system.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Legal case management

  ### 13. Powerful But Technical

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan K. | Director of IT and Internet Marketing, Law Practice, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2015

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

The ability to generate correspondence from templates is crucial. This save us a ton of time. Also it stores all of our files in easy to reach electronic format cutting down of physical storage of files.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

It is not user friendly. It takes a lot of work to customize and get it to work for our needs. It crashes and hangs more than I would like.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembly Trialworks:**

Understand how it works from the beginning. It can very easily get out of hand if you don't lock down the self generating fields. Figure out what you want in them and create drop downs.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has saved us a lot of time with correspondence and pleadings by being able to drop in client data to templates. It gives us an easy to export client database.

  ### 14. Comprehensive Case Management With A User-Friendly Interface

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alicia L. L. | Senior Litigation Paralegal, Law Practice, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2015

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

I first used the TrialWorks case management program in 1999 and, at the time, it was the most comprehensive program available in the area. Then, as now, I found the program to be user-friendly as the organized layout was quite similar to the set up of a physical case file. The program also makes tracking billable time and preparation of legal documents, correspondence, and other work product more efficient. As time has passed, the program has evolved as many law firms and courts have transitioned into paperless practice, and the product's availability as a mobile app expands on the user's access while away from the office desktops and laptops.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

TrialWorks was the first case management program of its kind that I used. In my earlier use of the program, there were some needs that the program was not capable of meeting as certain functions were not available and it was necessary to maintain some degree of work outside of the program. Since that time, the program has evolved to the extent that it now is self-contained, remedying the need to supplement with other, alternative programs.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The TrialWorks program branches all aspects of case and document management purposes that I have needed in handling cases from inception through resolution. Transition through the various available functions are user-friendly and all-inclusive for my case management needs.

  ### 15. Functional, But Not Pretty

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2015

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

I like the number of tabs that can be included and customized. I like that I can file emails from Outlook directly to the program and file other documents to various tabs from FileIt. I like that I can send a note from TW to colleagues to follow up on action items. Creating templates for repeat use is really nice.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

The interface can be overwhelming, counterintuitive and outdated feeling. Similar information is needed in several places to create a file. The search function is frustrating and if there are misspellings, the program isn't intuitive enough to give you possible alternatives (or at least the version my office is using). When you set up your dockets, it's very hard to edit a group of docketed items. Running reports is more complicated than I feel it should be.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembly Trialworks:**

The function is good, but the program really doesn't feel easy to use, even more than 3 years in. If the program became "smarter", it really does the job.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One thing that is helpful is the statute tracker. Huge benefit in the template use for high volume practice like ours.

  ### 16. TrialWorks Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2015

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

I really liked how many different tabs there were, making case management a breeze if the people that used the program actually used it correctly.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

At the same time, perhaps too many tabs. I would suggest doing a sit down with different law firm managers from different parts of the law to tell TrialWorks how they would normally organize their cases. For example, there was a discovery tab and a production tracker. This is pretty much a duplicate. The idea of having a production tracker is good but Discovery is production so there might be a better way to arrange everything and it would be a good time to get rid of any excessive tabs that most law firms don't use, I know that we didn't use a quarter of the tabs at least.

**Recommendations to others considering Assembly Trialworks:**

It definitely has everything to make your case management a breeze. You just have to learn how to use it and then make sure that everyone is using it in the same way. If it's used as it's supposed to, then your case managing will be wonderful and you will be able to go paperless.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used TrialWorks while working at a law firm that handled personal injury/ insurance litigation/ civil litigation and some criminal. TrialWorks is the best program I have worked with. My current firm uses a dated software called TIME and in comparison, TrialWorks is like the Mac and TIME is windows vista.

  ### 17. Used for 9 months while working in law office.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2015

**What do you like best about Assembly Trialworks?**

The ease of navigation from field to field as well as from tab to tab makes this an easy software on which to train inexperienced personnel. I also highly rank the technical support and customer service that accompanied this product, which we used many times.

**What do you dislike about Assembly Trialworks?**

I cannot name one thing that I dislike in particular.

**What problems is Assembly Trialworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Malpractice and injury lawsuits. Software kept firm highly organized and made scheduling legal appointments easy.
