GeoEvent server allow control centers to keep track of real time situation of field assets, It also allow to analyze the event and on top of all this, users can also forecast the upcoming trends and make better decision ahead of time. Another best thing which i like is it provide the adopters by using them you can get data from any device and show on top of the map. Analyzing multiple stream of data in one place give Geo-Event server edge on other co-existing technologies. **What do you dislike about ArcGIS GeoEvent Server?** Initial setup is painful with Geo-Event server. It could be more simplify for users and administrators. **What problems is ArcGIS GeoEvent Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** I had used ArcGIS GeoEvent server for vehicle tracking and asset tracking for utility company. By using ArcGIS GeoEvent server we were able to track live locations of crew members and control center was able to give instructions based on actual live situation on the ground. The GIS application is now updated with the real time attribute information, which the user loves. Also the Vehicle tracking system of the campus is also improved using the latest real time position of the vehicles **What do you dislike about ArcGIS GeoEvent Server?** Not simple to configure and administrable for a GIS person, demands more knowledge in IoT and web services which is not necessarily required . The GeoEvent server is sold to the people who don't even require it by the sales team. The users must scrutinize their purchase before making such a big purchase decision also Esri should advice against the purchase if the user doesn't really need it. **Recommendations to others considering ArcGIS GeoEvent Server:** If you need to integrate real time data with your existing ArcGIS system the GeoEvent server will be a perfect fit for you. But in India, most of the organisation having GeoEvent servers don’t understand them or use them unless you are not certain of the requirement please don’t buy. Firstly use the evaluation version and make your purchase decision **What problems is ArcGIS GeoEvent Server solving and how is that benefiting you?** Updating the attribute information of solar panel sensors with real time data, which is keeping the GIS Data up-to-date in real time which is not possible so far without any manual interruption. Also after purchase we allocated a dedicated server for the GeoEvent server, when we realized its capability and also its need for power. So now we are not having two separate servers for ArcGIS Server and GeoEvent Server. ### 5.
