And sometimes its really difficult tofind what we need because of the interface which is a bit difficult to navigate. **What problems is Apache Weinre solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem is of bugs that are very frequent to arise and debugging them so efficiently is helping us to create high quality and reliable mobile webpages.It is benificial as it saves a lots of time. ### 4. Perhaps because the tool was designed specifically and exclusively for remote debugging (and not just an afterthought add-on), it's extremely effective. We're able to utilize it in a variety of remote circumstances, with phones, tablets, laptops, etc. The interface is relatively simple and easy to use. We're extremely satisfied with the tool. **What do you dislike about Apache Weinre?** I guess the major downside if this tool is a simple byproduct of its most significant strengths. As a standalone tool, integration with other tools is necessary, whereas the add-on options that I mention earlier are simpler in certain respects, requiring no such integration. In our case, we feel that the benefits and functionality of this tool easily outweigh the cons. **Recommendations to others considering Apache Weinre:** Make sure you consider whether or not you need a standalone tool like Apache Weinre. For many, it may be overly robust, since many platforms have debugging features built-in these days. In our case, it's well worth having a more robust standalone tool. Again, I readily recommend this tool! **What problems is Apache Weinre solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main issue that we're solving is that of bugs that our employees and users frequently suffer from. This tool allows us to resolve those bugs as soon as they arise, pushing out patches where needed, and otherwise diagnosing problems across all platforms, whether iOS or Android. The tool really is pretty nifty, and well worth it for our purposes. I'm extremely satisfied it, and would readily recommend it to others. ### 5. Great tool for Phonegap/Cordova development **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Lawrence S. | Senior Software Engineer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019 **What do you like best about Apache Weinre?** This tool allowed us to inspect and debug cross platform mobile apps written using the Cordova/PhoneGap framework easily and reliability, since it piggy-backed on the Chrome inspector. **What do you dislike about Apache Weinre?** It has limited support for devices not on Android or iOS such as Windows Phone. **Recommendations to others considering Apache Weinre:** If you are making a mobile app on the Cordova/PhoneGap platforms, then look no further than Apache Weinre to help in speeding up development and turning around bugs quickly. **What problems is Apache Weinre solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problems that we were trying to solve was trying to pinpoint where various bugs were occurring quickly and most efficiently and we came across Apache Weinre during a search and found it invaluable during development. It allowed us to turnaround bug reports quickly and it was easy for our developers to use since they were already familiar with the Inspector in the Google Chrome's browser. ### 6. Debugging can be done over the network also. **What do you dislike about Apache Weinre?** The web inspector is very out of date, in fact the project hasn't seen any development in over a year at the time of writing this (28th March 2016). **Recommendations to others considering Apache Weinre:** The product is dated and Chrome Mobile Web Inspector has since taken it's place providing a first-class web debugging environment. The only downside to this is that Chrome Mobile Web Inspector works over USB rather than over the network. **What problems is Apache Weinre solving and how is that benefiting you?** We build responsive websites and web-applications as well as web view based mobile applications using Cordova. In the past weinre was the best DOM based debugging tool available allowing us to modify markup and CSS in real-time without having to rebuild the application. ### 7.
