I like that fact that this is open source software that continually gets updated for performance and security improvements. Some of the formatting between other spreadsheet applications will occasionally not appear the same in Calc. Then, learn formulas like VLOOKUP to search and return results in one cell from another area of your spreadsheet. This is especially important when you are dealing with large datasets and multiple tabs. Don't fret, coding in spreadsheets isn't as hard as it might seem. Get your feet wet and your hands typing and enjoy the beauty of this simple but powerful tool. You can save down spreadsheets to MS Office file extensions too! It was able to handle old MS Word documents, when even older versions of MS Office could not open them. The fact that it is free software is a huge plus. **What do you dislike about Apache OpenOffice Calc?** I am often "forced" to use more commercial products, so I am not as used to OpenOffice's interface. Hands down this is the best software for the money. I like that it is completely compatible with Microsoft, so anyone I send docs to don't even know that I"m using a different program. It took me a few minutes to figure out print. It should have a quicker get to. There is not a right click option to reach it quickly. I didn't know such a product existed. They aren't really advertised main stream as they should. Most people probably think they are stuck with microsoft or safari. I can't say enough good things about the price of the product for what you get. For me it is more important the fact that it "hangs up" from time to time, especially when you import and modify a document from Office. I have not asked why it happens, because it could be that it was even done on purpose, simply so that each time you use less the program of the competition, a strategy that is otherwise valid. wonderful experience with this programs, the cons are: t is the best free alternative that can be found, with OpenOffice Calc you will not have problems when making your works in spreadsheets and do not worry about the compatibility with other software, it can be highly compatible.
