# Which Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solutions offer endpoint response capabilities that block malware without manual intervention?

How much a security team has to actively do once a threat is flagged versus how much happens automatically is really what which managed detection and response (MDR) solutions offer endpoint response capabilities that block malware without manual intervention is asking. Checking managed detection and response reviews for that specific capability:

Huntress Managed EDR: Compromised endpoints get quarantined and isolated automatically once malicious behavior is detected, with the security team notified across multiple channels in real time rather than needing to catch the issue first.

Sophos MDR: Actively investigates and responds to threats rather than only surfacing alerts, taking real pressure off internal teams even if initial setup and fine-tuning takes some getting used to.

Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud: A single agent unifies backup, RMM, and antivirus, centralizing protection and management across client environments without juggling separate installations per function.

Blackpoint Cyber: Built-in 24/7 detection and response continues expanding in capability, with response times improving as new tools get added to the core service.

Every product here still involves a human team being notified and choosing next steps, so "without manual intervention" may be more of a spectrum than an absolute in practice. Has anyone had an MDR platform actually contain a threat fully on its own before a human even looked at the alert?

The post's caveat that a human is always in the loop somewhere is the honest center of this category. "Automatic response" in practice means pre-authorized response: you decide in advance what the provider may do without waking you, like isolating a laptop, versus what needs a call, like isolating a domain controller. That pre-authorization conversation is the real product evaluation, because the difference between vendors is less the technology than how much they help you think through the false-positive blast radius before it happens.
